  1. The thing for me is the suggestion that you earn currency toward getting the skins or what have you doesn't fly in the face of the accepted philosophy of the game. Look at dungeons, they've had a system in place since launch where players could feel like they're always progressing toward their personal goals rather than waiting on some stroke of blind RNG luck to get what they want.

Raiders have reached a point where they NEED new blood in raids to keep the content active, but are actively discouraging new raiders with group requirements that eliminate 99% of the player-base. I had one person outright tell me they'd rather the content die than have to play it with inexperienced players, which is pretty much what's happening. Two points:

    1. Yes, I know that experienced players often just want to easily clear the content, and will use whatever means at their disposal to create a group of experienced players to do so. I honestly see nothing wrong with this and am not arguing against it.
    2. Nobody should be forced to play with people they don't want to play with.

However, creating groups with KP requirements sends a very clear message to new players, you're not welcome here. And with raider groups doing the same thing in Strikes it won't be long before new blood for that content dries up, and Arenanet abandons it.

@kharmin.7683 said:This is the problem, IMO. If strikes are to be the steps leading to raiding, then strikes shouldn't have better loot. What's the incentive to raid, then?

Legendary armor is the better loot and incentive to do Raids. But they should certainly look at the rewards again since it appears that their introductory content has better short term rewards.

  3. I don't know what I'd be doing without the Mistlock Sanctuary. For a fractal player, it's pretty much a must have. You have easy access to all crafting stations, bank and AH, mystic fountain, laurel vendor, all the vendors from the fractal lobby and a fractal portal. The portal also returns you to your last location, so you can use the key, sell off junk, then return in a fraction of the time it'd take normally.

The waypoint unlock is a convenience item, ideally meant for players on alts that don't want to run around and get waypoints to be able to do, say, a world boss run.Adding POI, Vista, HP, or Hearts is stepping into P2W territory

@knite.1542 said:Is it really gatekeeping? Asking for kp doesn't prevent anyone from playing the content. Anyone can make a squad.

Since no content is barred to any player there's no effective way to actually gate-keep. But it discourages new players or inexperienced ones from even attempting the content, effectively acting as a psychological barrier.

  6. I'm just going to start off by saying that asking for KP, AP, or what have you as "proof" of your skill is, for the most part, simply gate-keeping. Asking for KP from harder content like raids in "dumbed down" content like Strikes only further pushes the image of elitism. Furthermore it's not a good metric of actual skill, since as it's been noted multiple times in this thread that people can be carried and gain completion. That being said I don't think groups requesting KP are in the wrong. There are always going to be players that simply want to complete the content without much hassle, and I get that. The problem is one of perception. Players looking to get into Raids or other content may not be familiar with the Raid training guilds and other resources, and they'll look to the LFG for options. Where they'll be met with the seemingly impossible to pass gate-keeping. And that's where many will simply give up.But without the new blood coming into raids or strikes the content will die off as veteran players get frustrated at the lack of new content, due to a perceived lack of interest in the content by Anet, and move on. As vet players leave new blood needs to replace them or the player-base dwindles, and the content is abandoned.Fractals aren't going anywhere because they're so accessible, and an earnest player can learn their skills to move up into the higher difficulty tiers. But that same player who wants to improve may be turned off from even the "bridge" content of Strikes by seeing groups asking for KP from harder content. It implies a skill level of play that isn't achievable right out of the gate is required simply to enter the content.KP/LI groups aren't in the wrong, but maybe they're shooting themselves in the foot.

  7. I think some (or a lot) of the Hearts need serious rethinking, some take almost no time to complete and others you're waiting on respawns the whole time, or repeating extremely menial tasks. It gets tedious fastOtherwise there's not point to removing them aside from making getting the legendary item easier, so nah

  8. Anyone else interested in side-content not directly related to LW? I enjoyed the Knight of the Thorn side story and I'd like to see more content like that, maybe get to interact with the less used characters from Dragon's Watch like Marjory and Kasmeer

White Mantle are some of the worst offenders for me when it comes to aggro. Ooh, I'll take on this guy right here with the nearest enemy being some distance away! Wait, where the hell did these 3 other WM come from????

For me the worst enemy in the game is probably Bristleback, for real I wish I had a skill that tracked and did constant damage. Even reflects skills don't seem to last as long as that abominable attack.

  10. @"Supercoca.3284" said:Of all fractals it is the most tedious and annoying to do, is boring and long, in my opinion remove the invisible part of the ground and the beginning.

That's not a very substantive approach to asking for a rework. That reads as "I don't like it, cater to me." You've offered nothing as constructive criticism and offer no solutions to any of the "problems" you vaguely state. You can't seriously expect a substantive response to this.
