  1. Don't think I've seen it brought up much but it's possible to have both, tie support to blighters boon, leave deathly chill as is and make reapers onslaught even stronger.

That way if you want to support with your reaper in teams you can, if you want to spec into full (competitive) damage, then that could work too.

They can keep the number for reapers onslaught the same in pvp to avoid it becoming opppresive and change the boon that blighters boon gives in pvp and wvw if that would be an issue too.

  2. I like some of the changes and nice to see bloody roar has a fix coming soon.

I will say though I find the lack of mention of either power harbinger or Spite, necro's main power traitline to be a bit odd

It has 2 minor traits that desperately could use an update and a sign that that is being considered would be appreciated.

Really not feeling the water trident change at all honestly.

  3. Is there a mechanic that you've played with on another class that you'd like with your favourite profession?

For me it would be an ambush mechanic on necromancer because it can give cool skills to old weapons. you could access them by self inflicting conditions or something

  4. My first suggestion was pretty strong and boring admittedly. it was giving us a version of Thief's Exposed Weakness that was weaker out of shroud and stronger in it. I think it amounted to a 3k dps gain on the current bench but dont quote me on that

There could pprobably be a trait that gives more consistent vuln outside of axe auto. and/or give you a stackable buff on vuln application? I would be fine with bitter chill but it's in the same tier as spiteful talisman lol

Great, then you won't complain if Reaper never gets a team because ... you can play the 2 other specs that teams want right? 😉

I don't have a problem with Anet increasing Reaper DPS. The issue here is pretending like not having competitive DPS prevents people from getting a team is a reason to do that. It's not.

Again, what problem are we talking about solving here? If you are trying to solve team-desirability, GL with DPS buffs. We know how that works, or rather, how it doesn't work.

That's never really my reason for asking for buffs because i always try to avoid pugging so I cant speak on the experience.

To say it wont help at all with team desirability though i dont think is true but i dont have data either way. there are literal spots in teams that are meant almost purely for dps and if anything extra, CC unless your base class is something like mesmer or the benefit is for free during your rotation.so i dont see the issue in that reasoning either.

I also dont see an argument for leaving power reaper where it is in pve either but this will be my last comment in this thread.

Hey, if you and other people are going to push the 'Reapers don't support' line, then you should not be questioning why no one wants them in the team or expect Anet to shower it with DPS because of that narrowminded thinking. That's just head in the sand.

Classes that do something for their teams are the ones people want in their teams and in a reliable kind of way. DPS classes are just flavour of the month. Do you want a reliable opportunity to team or gamble that for a short while, you maybe get that DPS spot?

Again, we talked this ... being 'tank' isn't a highly desirable team trait. A team can't even heal Reaper while it's in shroud. So ... you just play it out of shroud as a super tank? That is not a good path to be desirable as a Reaper or for people who play it.

Necro has 2 other specs that can be better leveraged for support i'm pretty sure but none compete well for power dps. i dont see an issue with bumping up reaper's damage and leaning into support on one of the other 2. harbinger does boons already and scourge has defensive support.

  7. there's also the matter of other gamemodes, whatever they add to necro in terms of team utility unless very specific may be an unwanted buff in pvp/wvw

i dont see them changing the gamemode split to be more drastic as much as i would like that. whereas damage could be along the lines of the split they currently maintain  but maybe they can surprise us

  8. The wayy i see it is this. The bar for necro bringing some team buff or desirable utility is a way higher bar to pass than just bringing more damage especially since unique buffs are pretty much off the table at this point

Pure damage is definitely the most flexible role and making reaper at least competitive in that role isnt a bad thing. at the very least they could give it to power harb too since it's also pretty low even built for pure power dps

  9. For What It's Worth I still think the necromancer is the king of transferring and self inflicting conditions comfortably

Back On Topic I hope they do something more interesting than just giving us devastation traits if they decide to change some things
