  1. I'll ignore the personal attack to continue this discussion. I don't think they hate people with disabilities (though I have friends with colorblindness and motion sickness who disagree), I just don't think they care, which so be it. Mirage was held up as one of the most friendly LI builds previously. I used to have 0 problems with it. I mention it because it used to work before the changes. I mentioned Ranger as another I have problems with. Maybe I'm asking too much to get back to being able to play every profession with a simpler playstyle, and just have to adjust accordingly. Some professions will just be out of reach for me which saddens me, but it is what it is.
  2. I don't know what to say. I had a working build for each profession before the vamp rune change, and now the Mirage changes from the other day. I can't do most simple things in OW on half of the professions now. I'm willing to accept that MMOs just aren't for me, and should stick to JRPGs and other such slower games.
  3. I think it's perfectly valid and fair to be worried about what would essentially be afk power creep. I don't think these LI builds should be anywhere close to normal builds. They should be sufficient for basic things - story and general open world - and no more. There are tons of ways to raise the floor of effectiveness without helping those who don't need help - I hate to beat the horse into glue, but that vamp bonus for example - no regular player was taking that. Your idea of transferring power to the pet is a good idea (though we'd need more pets), where the tradeoff is now having to deal with the pet's awful AI. I must play Ranger extremely incorrectly because I can't seem to stay alive on it. My pet never holds agrro. Just yesterday I got downed by a few harpies in Jahai Bluffs. I don't think these should be world beater builds, but the last changes to Mesmer for example, which removed a few passive traits for more activate on skill press stuff gutted it for me.
  4. You're talking on golem, yes? Because my Mirage was doing about 4K during my last tests against Forged raiding parties. That includes dodging, 2, and 3. The thing is, we keep finding ways to make things work, and then Anet keeps nerfing them, seemingly for no reason. The Vamp rune bonus was a staple for most of us LI players and they yank it away for no real good reason as far as I understand. It wasn't messing up benchmarks. I haven't seen anything about it affecting WvW. It's pretty clear to me at this point that sadly Anet only cares about some marginalized communities, not all, as long as it can make them money and not interfere with their elitist vision. I think there's a lot of middle ground between where it is and autobattler, but I sense you and I don't see eye to eye, and that's fine. I don't find the game very accessible by default.
  5. Maybe compromise was not the best word, but I figured it was at least a different tactic than "restore my Vamp bonus heal" - which I would LOVE to return, but doesn't seem likely. I play those builds, heck, I helped Jupiter at Meta battle create the first ones, but they keep nerfing them to the ground. I'm not good at this game - I'm never going to be able to "get good", so maybe I just need to accept I have my one profession I can play and so be it. That pretty much means just doing dailies/weeklies and new stories, but I guess given there's no sub cost, it's a fine enough trade.
  6. As part of a group of players with disabilities, it's no secret that we've been hit hard by a lot of the recent changes (not all rune effects becoming relics, the recent removal of passive bonuses from Mirage to name a couple). It's clear the developers frown on more passive elements as much I think that sucks. However, what about a possible "compromise"? We have multiple auto cast skills on Ranger pets and the Mech, could we not bring that idea to the player bar as well?
  7. Hm, good. I guess my deflation and disinterest has left me out of the loop. And whoever is the confused emoji can go fly a kite.
  8. I started the other thread, but I don't have anything about Areoh in my account name. Unless there was a third thread about this.
  9. You must have been my ping from here: Well, I've basically ended up as I said in my original post: I login on my main, do dailies and weeklies, and then I go play GW1 with the rest of my time. So ~15 mins a day save the few hours (at most) to knock out the weekly. I've managed to save a lot of gold now though since I'm not building to Legendary Armor since I basically only play one toon now and I'm happy with the stats from Ascended and don't need the flexibility. I guess if Anet is happy with that instead of me playing more or buying gold, so am I.
  10. I appreciate that. I've spent much time with many people tinkering for my specific ailments (forget most anything using the right hand, including (especially) that thumb), but I'll certainly give it a try if worst comes to worst, though I'm hoping quite obviously I won't need to stop by. 🙂
  11. I appreciate you sharing your story, and I'm sorry for what happened to you. I am hoping we both see better days ahead! Would you mind sharing your rune set bonus(es)? I'm both interested from a crafting approach and maybe if this thread makes any difference, it can help you as well/instead.
  12. Taking a page from the player who posted about golem summons (thanks for the idea), I don't post much on the forums, but this was important enough to me to at least try. Reading about the change to Relics, and how they're designed to be active as opposed to passive, I'm worried about the bonus of this rune (namely the restoration of health on kill) making it into Relic form. I am an Open World only player. I have a bunch of issues with my fingers/hands/wrists/arms that I have a lot of trouble playing such an active game but I loved GW1 so much I was determined to make it work. I had come up with a number of effective builds before, only to see most of them become unusable for me when the balance patches decimated a lot of healing traits. It had gotten so bad that I actually quit the game for a couple of months because I couldn't compensate. Luckily, someone suggested Vampirism runes and they've been amazing ever since. They enabled me to play the game again, which I do every day. I own all the expansions and have purchased gems many times. I have Aurora, Vision, the Prismatic, 6 legendary runes (not touching that topic!), and 2 legendary sigils. I may not be a high end player, but I've spent quite a bit of time playing the game. Vampirism runes are generally harmless. They're not going to help with Bounties, or Raids, or Fractals. They won't screw up any DPS benchmarks. But they do enable me to play. If they still exist once SotO hits, chances are I'll be spending money on gems for gold for mats to create all 3 weights of Open World armor. If they're removed, I probably will have no choice but to be done with the game unless something takes their place. I don't intend that to be a threat, or a tantrum, just that before them the game had become too difficult to play (even with the Jade Bot Vit bonus, and the Armor and Health bonus, and life steal food), and it's important enough to me to at least try to make a case.
  13. Bit of an odd request - I'm looking for a guild that calls Windswept Haven (PoF guild hall) home. I like having a guild for every hall, and I'm missing this one after the last one I was in disbanded. Admittedly, I'm not sure I can offer much. I basically am an Open World and story only player, but I do log on every day. I have 447 MP and 21,000+ AP. I don't care how large the guild is - I recently was recruited to one that just needed numbers, so I'm happy to be a daily number that looks good. I'm NA Dragonbrand if it matters. I don't care if it's an EU guild, but I'm not sure if that's even feasible. Send me a message here if interested. Obviously I'm not much of a forum user, but I'll check in often and answer any question there may be of me.
  14. Thanks! This is pretty close in idea, if not spot on to what I'm looking for, so that'll solve the Mesmer situation at least (I think) which was the toughest for me to get to 80 (I have all classes at 80, now to get those HPs...). Do you have any other videos or suggestions for the other professions?
  15. I'm not sure which forum this belongs in, if not maybe each profession forum. I'll try to be brief but informative. I've seen a lot of similar threads, but can't find one to this degree. I'm looking to play EACH profession (if not spec) in a way that minimizes effort as much as possible. I have a few ortho issues with my hands. I will often:-stand in AOE a few seconds before realizing I need to move.-forget to dodge.-mishit keys. So twitchy and piano is not for me. However I don't mind kiting. I enjoy playing Bomb Engi and simply just holding down a couple of keys and running in circles while pressing 1 repeatedly. For some profs, this isn't a big deal (MM Necro/Reaper/Scourge, BearBow, P/P Thief to an extent), but others I have a ton of trouble (Warrior (both specs), Ele, Mesmer, Guardian) even using Metabattle. I generally play solo to blow off steam for fun and the "story", so Open World is the idea with the hardest being the HPs. No Fractals, or Dungeons, or such. I do not mind "slow". I read often that the MM Necro is slow, but the pace is more than fine for me. For GW1 players, I loved Paragon. Setting up the hero team to do damage and spamming TNTF and SYG/SY just to add something but going along for the ride was ideal. That's not feasible here. I immensely prefer passive over active (part of the issue with Guardian for me) and am happy letting the game "play itself" so to speak since I'm so bad at active anything. Obviously I'm not looking to DPS/Burst things as quickly as possible (yes, I know the best way to avoid damage is for things to die quickly so they can't hit you), but more quick enough to hit time limits, but with a high % of not dying. Thanks!
