  1. I just spent more time that I can afford on the same crash in The Departed. I have seen the same at the end of other instances. I have put more than enough time into trying the 'fixes'. PC hardware is not uniform, and sometimes a piece of software refuses to run on a piece of hardware. This is very rare, but still true in 2020. I think this just happens to a small subset of users and most likely it's a hardware support problem that ANet won't fix. To be blunt: it's a business decision to not fix it. I don't think this is ANet being lazy, as it might be costly to fix. I have tried most of the 'fixes' and the lack of an official fix or comment from ANet really tells you all you need to know. To be blunt: they don't work and/or, didn't for me. My understanding of the situation is they don't work for a lot of people. Don't spend time looking for a fix that doesn't exist. If you are willing to reboot a lot and run The Departed A LOT, you may get past it. It's just going to be painful.
