its sad beacuse. 😞 charer are so cool!! btu they are more like Taurens and like furry race. I want like a beffy masculine race like orc. that is literally what the game is missing, otherwise is perfect. i hope one day they will add orcs, it would be such bad kitten for guild wars 2. or at least orc ears, costume in the gem shop, i would spend my money on that even if it was my weeks salary 😄

There ARE pointy ears and you can absolutely play an Orc with that:

In one of the comments another user even links his Grom cosplay.

Where do Timin Blackburl and his companions fit in? Ogden refers to at least one of them as his kin, but not one of the three is stone.

Well this is weird... I'm not sure if this is intentional or just glitched. For example I saw a named Dwarf in Droknar's Light - who is normally not in a stone form - in stone form.

On the other hand Timin and his friend and a few other Dwarves in core Tyria now appear out of stoneform. So if a Dwarf is either in stoneform or not means they can change it or it might be glitched.
Riley Waylit and Von Dvelverunner have both pictures of them in stoneform on the wiki, but for me they weren't in stoneform.

  2. There is definitely more about Janin. It seems she was spying on the Aetherblades. There are a few more letters, one even from Ankka.

But wasn't Janin a Risen? Somehow I had the feeling that Ankka found out that Janin was a Purist Spy and maybe killed and raised her. At least that's what I got from reading letters and recordings from Ankka.

  3. So I finally saw the event starting, right after the fishing tournament. Talked to Yon, started the event, picked a flower, turned it in and got credit for both achievements ( "A Blooming Errand" and "The End of the Celestial Ministry"). After picking a second flower (one minute later)  I got booted to character selection. Logged back in and came to a map without the event active and both achievements were rolled back. Haven't seen her since.

Just saying because maybe there's a bigger problem with the event.

  4. I think it's worth mentioning that the german version of the video has a different line at 1:40 where Taimi talks about a final Elder Dragon beeing somewhere out there, but the subtitle has the same line as the english version. I wonder what went wrong there and why that line exists.

  5. Well I don't really like the aesthetics of that happy bot but give me Prof. Simon Wright from Captain Future and we'll talk.

What I really like to know is: Can you use all the masteries of the Jade Bot at lower levels, too (like gliding and mounts) or is it more restricted like Spectral Aid for example.

If they did have DsD killed offscreen before EoD, who/what would be the main enemy of the expac though? Kuunavang doesn't seem like she's corrupted from the magic from the first teaser (more like she supports humanity, on the contrary). The government has shown no signs of hostility (seems like the xenophobia's been gone for a while now based on the previews). The jade mining company could be the main villain, but just doesn't sound large scale or powerful enough to have much impact (considering we have an elder dragon or two on our side, depending on if Kuunavang joins us).

I think it's possible that Jade mining could be the (accidental) reason to corrupt Kuunavang later in the story. We have seen that black fog or corruption leaking out of Jade (Jade Sea trailer at about 0:30). Also, there is that Artwork with Majory and Kasmeer and a Saltspray Dragon, surrounded by some kind of black fog and the Harvest Temple in the background.

  7. The thing I dislike most with shield is that when you hit an enemy with a shield, even a random mob, you'll get a magic "evade"-sound. I wish shields had "CLONK" sounds like you really hit hard on something made of wood or metal.

Also, yes, there are really some nice shield skins, but nothing rewards shield play.

I just had a big laugh at "Karstadt" - that's the name of one of the biggest mall chains in German history. 😅

    This won't end well.

However, Karstadt is pretty broke since a few decades, I'm not sure if they have the money to do anything against it.

Isn't there supposed to be a Beta 4 with all the new epsecs? Where did that go?

This is just the schedule for the livestreams. According to the Wiki, these are the upcoming Beta events:

    Beta Event 3: October 26, 2021 — October 30, 2021

During this beta event players will have access to the remaining three elite specializations.

    Beta Event 4: November 30, 2021 — December 4, 2021

During this beta event players will have access to all elite specializations and to the Siege Turtle.

I have to say that i think your idea is highly unlikely. They rather have you working together with real life people than npc's.

In long term this might be needed. But in my opinion there are always good guilds who love to help someone out if they are stuck in a story. .

I'm not thinking of endgame content, maybe even not open world. However, content that isn't played often like for example dungeons could be a niche for something like that. However, it's not exactly my favorite, it could be nice.

In the end ANet have the metrics of players running into content walls and if such NPCs could fill a gap.

    1.  I'm not sure if henchmen are off the table, but I remember that during the livestream it was mentioned that you can gather your crew for your skiff (as far as I remember). It would somehow be weird if you have these NPC only for doing things on your skiff. Crew members might also be a higher tier for the skiff mastery, but it would go hand in hand in becoming a mastery on it's own.
    2. Some people already mentioned Jade-Tech, sometimes also called Dragonjade, Ancient Magic or Dragon Magic (all three names come from the article on the EOD website). It's pretty obvious that this is a good candidate for a mastery.
    3. We have  a lot of bubbles in the new trailer. They seem to be everywhere, high in the sky (Aetherblade Airships), at lower parts in Echovald Forest, but somehow we didn't see them in the many screenshots of Shing Jea. In the trailer at 1:00 it sounds like you are going underwater, and at 1:10 you see a fight between a Naga, Anya and an unknown human where it seems that the Naga is moving in water while the other two are standing.
My pet theory is that Cantha has developed a technique that has several zones in some kind of transitional state between several states of aggregation - in this case, liquid and gaseous, maybe even solid if it comes to Jade. We could see a mastery revolving around Aether-tech, with Aether beeing the quintessence, the fifth element.
This could be a solution to the old underwater-combat problem, it might even explain why we haven't seen any footage of the other zones so far. It would also be interesting how skiffs would behave in such transitional states.

Three skritt working together as one character.

In the earlier days of MMORPGs there was exactly something like that - three smaller, fluffy creatures acting as one. Unfortunately I can't remember the game, never played it.

Three Skritt would be incredible funny to play as an adventure or a festival activity, but as a playable race...

Willbringer sounds a bit strange and the mechanics don't have anything that fits this name (didn't play GW1 so I don't know if the fluff makes sense for the name). German translation is even more creepy, as nearly nobody would use the term "Willensverdreher". "Gedankenverdreher" could be a solution, but i suggest to rename the Spec complitely.

Translations are strange sometimes. I never understood why the "Mirage" was translated to "Illusionist" in German, but maybe that was the intention behind the Mirage.

I would have liked "Zealot" for the Willbringer, but maybe the Zealot-like elite was already named Firebrand according to the Firebrand's lore.

I don't recall ever seeing this "stream of magic" in-game, and I've done the Dragonstorm event over two dozen times. Unless you're talking about the ley-line barrier?

Guess I'll try to pay more attention next time.

It flows down south, you can see it when you look up where you stand when Aurene pulls you back. Read it on Reddit a while ago and didn't spot it the first time I did Dragonstorm again, but when you look up you'll see it.

Might go southward to the temple of harvest as mentioned, but it's also passing Farahnur for example if it's exactly that straigjht south.

  14. 2 hours ago, Konig Des Todes.2086 said:

Fun fact: "South" is never said with where the magic went. Just "elsewhere".

People presume south because EoD and Cantha. But given how ArenaNet is with their logic, that might not be so.

...but isn't it also because of the large visible stream of magic flowing southward after the Dragonstorm event?

  15. Maybe, just maybe: I have always wondered what the strange colored dots in the first EoD trailer are.
Different colors, however: Repeating? More the same kind of colors... I also had the idea that they depict the spheres of the Elder Dragons as seen in "The All", but maybe someone has a better idea.
    https://i.imgur.com/KANgPIo.jpg

However, similar dots can be seen in Elona when reaching the communication points where you contact Taimi:
    https://i.imgur.com/d2jBWVv.jpg

I'd even say, they are of the same colors. Maybe they can be found elsewhere, the particles on Aurene's skin could be something similar, too. However, I wouldn't be surprised if communication or information can be transmitted via this dots (and maybe even intercepted).

  16. I have to say I really like them, because I always wanted normal leather boots for my warrior.
The boots beeing a bit more thicker isn't bad for Norn with the skinny physique, either. However, it might not work for every race / physique combination.

    https://imgur.com/1knZYoT

Also, at first I didn't like them because they seemed weirdly enameled (like many armor parts), however, it seems to be only the view when previewing armor.

  17. This is a bit confusing, because in the show, Andrew asked at about 22:23 "And who was that mysterious asura that was next to Ankka? Could it be the replacement for the untimely-deathed Horrik?"

So, it seems that the Asura's name is not Ankka - however, the person next to the Asura seems to be definately Mai Trin.

Could it be Zojja? Maybe, maybe not. Besides having a new outfit, the face shares some similarities, but also some differences - for example Zojja's face profile has more curves, I think she also had some freckles. But we are still looking at a CGI-Trailer, so her look may me a bit different, also she spend years beeing unconscious.

However, IF this is Zojja, that would gives me chills - Mai Trin, who was send on a special mission to the mists by Scarlet (who was highly influenced by Mordremoth) and Zojja, whose brain has been damaged after Mordremoth had her in a Mordrem pod?
