  1. There's a lot of confused emojis on every thread. Problem with those is that usually no clue what they are confused about or even what they mean by it (yeah, its kinda like disagree, but who really knows). Dont mind them personally, but they do not add anything of value to the discussion. Theres loads of people here trying to explain what those reactions REALLY mean and it usually means system is not functioning if you need to try to explain it.

I think simpler reaction system would serve the forum a lot better ('like/agree', 'dislike/disagree' would be enough).

If it counts for anything: at first I didn't see the big deal. But now I use it every day. Some mounts do very specific things better. But the Skyscale is generally good at everything.

Except going very very fast on a straight line and hitting every single wall and obstacle and getting stuck when there is a slightest bend, like roller beetle!

If the argument is that you (collectively) want drops that have better stats, well that is really the status quo masquerading as change.  Players will perpetually obtain gear with bigger numbers to fight foes with bigger numbers.  Ultimately, the proportion of damage is the same.  If not, then all players will eventually be able to one shot everything with a single auto.  Stat-based vertical progression is merely the progression of damage numbers with the same end-state.  Nothing effectively changes.

Maybe they should sprinkle bit more ascended drops to open world events, so semi casuals could get some (especially armor) upgrades through loot.

For example, I have been playing this game maybe 3 or so years and never seen single ascended piece drop as loot in open world, which makes me think it might be bit too rare.

Hmm. So you’re saying you spent 24 hours to spy on them. Making sure it’s the same names the whole time and kept record of what they were doing? Now that’s dedication. I’m impressed. If you could do that though. Why is it impossible for them to farm by following tos? And if you did not, how do you know they were there 24 hours?

That said, I would just want to point out I’m neutral to this kind of farming. I do not support botting. It’s Anets rules so when I see these crowds, I just move on. They do not bother me nor do they ruin my gameplay. There is no way for us to truly know if they are following these rules or not. (With exception for the turtle botnappers)

If you reported them, they were probably checked by Anet and deemed to be following the rules. If not, they will be banned when they do ban waves like they use to.

No i went to bed and came back the next day and exact same characters were in exact same spot doing exact same stuff. (yes, you could split hairs that maybe they logged off too, but i pretty much doubt it)

Report, Block and move on... at that point, you've done your community service... trust in ANet to handle it as they deem appropriate.

Thats what they want you to do, but sadly the trust is just not there anymore. Numerous times i´ve reported multiboxing botting farms (10+++ accounts with similar names). Then check back the location and find them doing the exact same thing for straight 24+ hours. There is just no way in hell that one guy can control that many accounts for that long without it being unsupervised or accounts being shared between gold farmers..

Those kittening bots are absolutely everywhere these days. So please tell me if you feel you´ve done the community a service by reporting...

Didn’t they just celebrate continued growth of players? I mean I don’t dispute that there shouldn’t be any group story steps, but it’s not losing players right now it seems.

Im sure they did. Sadly those "players" are probably afk bot farms multiboxing and for exploiting the login rewards for gold gain with loads and loads of accounts.

All this fancy new jade-tech looks identical to me.

    - sincerely, a jade-tech-hating scrapper.

I mostly play untamed and mech and i frikkin hate those jade mechs too. They seriously need to make them smaller, dyeable/skinnable and remember the choice if i shoo it off instead of popping back every time i port somewhere. And wouldnt mind option to completely disable other people´s (pets not in your squad) pets too.

Press Esc. That stops you from autoattacking. A good button to use use if u plan to go to HT CM.

I play virtuoso in Sunqua Peak, haven't wiped the team on water pillar yet.

This works, but is mildly risky. Sometimes you have to smash esc several times for autoattack to stop.

I think they should change autottack (1) key so that if you press it again, autoattacking stops.

More workarounds: i think theres also keybind for autoattack target, pressing it again should clear the target and stop autoattack.

all they have to do is remove drops for pets/minions.  let them do all the dmg they are designed to, but no rewards for pets/minions.

Good start, but its not that simple. All they need to do after that is to macro 'target nearest enemy' -> 'use whatever aoe attack'... I think pets are there mostly to distract the mobs anyways so botting player does not die.

They need to alter their terms of service and flat out ban use of any automation. Even if the player is there overseeing their bot. Would be clear for anyone without any pickering about technicalities..

EDIT: There actually was interesting idea i came across on gw2 subreddit. Just rank up the mobs without increasing the loot if they keep dying multiple times right after spawning. Start with elites and go champions and all the way to legendaries with unstable magic abilities. Would become too much trouble than its worth, so good bye to most bot farms without devs needing to jump trough too many hoops to solve the problem.

EDIT2: And another was putting diminishing returns on loot if mob gets slaughtered repeatedly, forcing players to move.

Why Marauder pieces "as a last resort"?

Marauder can be more efficient than Berserker in open-world and story, as it crit-caps far easier and  is one of the few ways to realistically crit cap on solo builds. Even in group content full Berserker is almost never used and needs to be mixed with some amount of Assassin's to be effective.

An RNG-based DPS loss is much worse than a static one since its unpredictable.

Well, problem is usually the price. Berserker is dirt cheap across the board and thats why a lot of people (especially newbies) keep using it and dying and getting frustrated. Maybe devs should look into pricing disparity of different prefixes to make less frustrated people.

And ofcourse sites like metabattle are full of berserker builds. So people keep grabbing them from there and dying.

EDIT: BTW, one simple way to increase survivability on basically any build is to slap vampirism runes on your armor. Gives more health and power and when you kill something, you get healed. I use those in almost all of my open world characters. And they are very cheap on TP.

  11. Welcome to the club. Absolutely everybody dies in HoT at first.

It gets eventually better when you familiarize yourself with your class and monsters..

EDIT: For Guardian. Try Dragonhunter with longbow, its generally more survivable than going melee with HoT monsters. Can always swap to greatsword if you want to go close and personal (trap bomb+spin to win is just great with DH)

The guild hall is two clicks away with a return to the location you ported in from. If you have Armistice / Mistlock /Thousand Seas pass or home portal stone then that safe spot (with the return) can be only one click away.

Yes, i know. I have lily of elon teleport. Its still a minor annoyance sometimes (EDIT: escaping is easy, but eats more time to get back where you were before you teleported if you want to continue whatever you were doing..).
