I caught a fish today before work and played a round golf after work. Now I am waiting for the boss at 8:00 pm local time for Tequila the Sunset....or something like that.

I jumped on the first raptor and fell of tying to review the first village....this is going well. Oh I should have mentioned....I don't ever dodge...I just stand in front of my opponent and mash the 1 button as many times as I can.

As usual...Herald of Balthazar takes one swing and I am dead....getting off to a great start.

Small but significant update....I figured out how to use the boss/event thingamabob. I have hit two in a row...progress Camille. Just sucks walking to each one....still working on the mount deal. I'll pay whatever I have to pay,

So here are just a few things….. I guess my sarcasm on “translate” was lost on the last few responders…I speak only English and do not understand any other language. What I meant by “translate” is even though the wiki is written in English I still have no idea what some of the words mean or concepts put forth. In other words at some points it reads like stereo instructions. there will be an example of that below. Question #1 What will make me better…no strike that…what will make me tougher…no strike that …what will make me last longer and better able to deal with the things that will eventually kill me. I can’t tell if it’s my spells that will provide bigger improvement or my weapons or my armor or my sigils or my runes or my infusions or my tombs or my buffs or my signets or my boons or my mods or anything like that. I see weapons for sale on the exchange for 1200 gold that have the same attack values as what I currently own. In PvP I can attack multiple multiple multiple times only to still have my opponent remain upright and yet if I stand there and do nothing two or three whacks and I am stone dead. Why by the Tunic of the Bindbreaker of the Cavalier for 800 gold when it only gives me 29 more defense than I have now? Lets say I want to upgrade my sword…it’s a little worn been though a lot…lets try something shiny and new….why pay 2,400 gold for Bolt when it has the same weapon strength as the Kodan Sword I currently own? And what good does the 4,500 gold me for a Deathly Mantle skin? As for my inventory….I have been hanging on to a level 80 upgrade that I got when I purchased the upgrade pack and everybody say don’t use it..so what the point of having it? Same for transmutation charges…I read somewhere not to use them…ok so I have amassed 21 one of them in my bank. The garbage related to the Super Adventure…that was a waste so what do I do with that crap? Please forgive me if crap is not PC but it’s the best I could come up with. Since I am at level 80 Tombs of knowledge are worthless since I have no idea what to do with Sprit shards. I show up to the big purple fire in Lions arch and I never have a combination of stuff that will make a pile of better stuff that I have no idea if it will benefit me…but alas the wiki…yes the wiki…I have done my HS and my college and gotten my graduate degree…not really interest in having to do homework to play a fantasy game that should help reduce stress. Masteries…another topic loaded with clarity. So I am moving up the next level of Noblesse Oblige…I have no idea what events or undertakings increase that skill or training. It looks like it will take five mastery points when I do compete the training but alas and alack I only have 3 points available Do I craft my way to better gear …do I buy it…do I get it in drops I would love to know where in the wiki the big boss events are so that I would participate more in those. Somebody did tell me that I can seek the help of others to participate in my personal story by using LFG…but when I look at LFG it seems pretty dead an unused so I am not sure what benefit posting that I may need help would be in a place that isn’t seen by many people? Yes I would love to know when bosses appear and when other are there to join in...I have done it three or four times in the months I have been playing and they have all been by accident as I stumbled upon them. I just cant keep track of sigils, ascendant, rare, epic, upgrade slots, runes tombs, and all the this and that and still have no clue if what I am using is even best for what I can't do. I do not plan to make this my life's works as there is much to behold out my front door but even in the WvW I walk around for ten minuets....cross a different colored border, get smoked and then is back to a way point that is on the other side of the map....very frustrating. And maybe I do complain a bit and maybe grandpas in their late 50's aren't a huge market for this game and I get that.

I am to old for discord...tried it and its very annoying. As for the recipe it was supposed to be sold...according to the wiki by some Karma vendor in Rata Sun or something like that and when I finally found the vendor the recipe was not listed ...now I get the impression that I had to do something else in order to make it available but it was not to be. Yeah the wiki is great but half of the stuff doesn't make any sense and I don't have time to translate it all. It's written in English but I am not going to waste what little time I have left on this earth as I am already on the back nine of life researching how to do stuff beyond just mashing buttons and dying at every inopportune moment;

I know have an Elementalist and Ranger and a Thief up to level 80...and today for some reason Arena Net made me change the name of my thief....they didn't like Bob Ross Pubey Fro as a name...WTF?

As an update to my situation...I am stuck on the last part of my Story (Victory or Death). I can't even get to the dungeon without getting smoked each and every time I leave the waypoint. Now I am trying one of the fractal things and they are just a perpetual never-ending butt kicking with 18 sperate restarts from a checkpoint the last time I tried. WvW provides no direction at all...another smokefest. Just step outside your border and kiss it all goodbye. Can't find the recipes I need to make things that provide experience as the vendor in the wiki who claims to sell them doesn't have it for some reason. Getting sick of walking everywhere and have not a clue about how to get a mount. but other than that it's all good....just hang around the level 1 to 15 areas and help the farmers...great life.

If you have trouble to fill out what you have, then I would recommend https://gw2efficiency.com/ and link your API key (that you create and copy from your GW2 account). When you have created API key and added to gw2efficeny it will then be able to read the information stored from you account and present it in your browser from this site. I think I just did that now I have this....oh wait I can't post a picture for whatever reason..

Not really. Everything has a name tag, so you instantly know what the field/button does. Just take the time to get into it, you will find out how useful it really is, I promise you. :) You enter all skills, traits and equipment, choose the upgrades and buff food, then select the game mode (PvE/PvP/WvW) in the upper right corner, then click on "Quick Link" at the bottom of the page to receive an URL that you can share with others or bookmark for yourself (make sure to enter that URL in the browser's address bar first and press enter before you bookmark the page). So the process is building my character and then generating a link that I can post for others to see, as opposed to the crafting website where you use the API key specific to your game and stats in GW2 that you then "post" on the crafting website that can then tell you how much stuff you have and need to craft up to 400 as quickly and as cheaply as possible.

The build site is a tad unintuitive...as I have no clue about quick links or chat links after spending about 40 minutes loading what I think I have only to find I can't get it quite right...also where would this get uploaded and I don't see how to log in or save on this build site...I am sure it's right in front of me but it still continues to elude me.

I do have other characters...trying to remember off the top of my head..I have a Sylvari Ranger around level 45I have a Human Revenant level 8 or so..chubby fat basturd that can't jumpI have a Human Mesmer level 15 or so who looks promising. What do I do with all the crap I craft....I mean how many padded leather insoles do I need....or copper filigrees or the 45 jars of mixed berry pie filling?

I have had a little faith restored....Still don't understand build editors but I will try that link and see if I can figure it out. Still don't understand Ascended vs Exotic. Is there a way that somebody can see all that I have and tell me what to change out in terms of skills...I mean do I really wantot be walking around with a staff if two single handed weapons are better. Is there a way to tell how much of the 100% damage...ooops sorry (DPS) I am doing or currently equipped for? @Lucio.4190 I like your story about wandering into tangled depths...but the game didn't even give me a hint about the gliding nonsense, at least that I could figure out right off the bat, so there was 20 or 30 deaths before I even figured out how to get it....now I have it and it has a time limit...not good when you are 1/2mile up in the air in it craps the bed..another death. No idea what Viper status is. Bottom line is I think I am best suited to ranged weapons and spells that protect my group....alas and alack that does very little good when alone.

The next thing is to look at your build. While you can generally run anything in the open world, there are some builds which perform significantly better over others. You can go to metabattle (what is metabattle ) and check out the builds on there to see what interests you. Perhaps others who play elementalist in the open world will post here about what they run as well. I don't understand builds at all every time I feel like a change might be in order I panic when I get asked 'Do you want to override" or anything similar to that...that's why I don't throw anything away either...stuff comes up and I just choose what sounds cool or maybe helpful...I have nary a clue how they work in tandem or in combination with anythingA lot of the mobs in HoT and PoF have mechanics. (???) Most of these are fairly simple. For raptors, you generally want to burst them down quick as they do quite a lot of damage in a group but they all have very low HP. Enemies with break bars (What's a break bar) are ones where you want to use hard CC (Whats CC) skills to break as they tend to take significantly more damage after this is done. All of the Djinn (What is Djinn) in PoF are good examples of this.For that first story instance in PoF, are you avoiding her deadly attack? This would be the one that makes a telegraph field (what does that look like )on the ground prior to the attack. Most damage fields on the ground have a red border and these are things that you want to stay out of. (im too slow in most cases)

Some other "topics" as well. Is there a "concise" guide on how to use Discord effectively....I find it a headache and I am not sure if I am using it correctly. I have gotten the initial notice from guilds..."join us at blah blah blah on discord but I don't seem to be able to remember or recreate those designations when I have discord open. Why am I getting so much unusable gear at level 80...chest after chest or bag after bag of stuff that's worthless for me...is this just some cheap attempt at letting me sell it back for one or two silver? Is it natural to just go through your story line and just get killed time after time after time and just keep moving on?
