  1. My only 2c so far is that I'd much prefer they skip new weapons entirely and focus on new mechanics (eg, masteries, new wvw content, etc) rather than go halfway to elite specs by giving us new weapon combos without the specs.

I very much doubt anyone from Anet will see this, but I worry a great deal that they aren't going to provide enough content on what will be (without new elite specs) a content-dependent 'expac'.

Hoping y'all can pull it off... Finger's crossed.

  2. Since the "bonus box" changes, when I solo or duo flip towers I'm getting a silver in participation (the medal) at best. Despite, y'know, being the only reason the tower flipped. Seems...off? For obvious reasons?

Also, the EoD reward track's crafting coffer is still, well... extremely lackluster, especially when compared to previous tracks. I know it seems like a small thing, but as the EoD track is the most profitable by far, I (& probably many others) have repeated it more. It really adds up. Can we at least get more useful options to pick from once the recipes are done? A cluster of research notes, maybe? That would fit the EoD theme well too.

You do realize it is a Staff skin, yes?  Something created long before fishing was a thing?

Yes, thank you. I was aware, as indicated by my linking the wiki page in my original post and the phrasing in "I can understand not adding it retroactively yet." Which is to say, I understand that this is technically more of an oversight than (strictly speaking) a bug. But I submit that it ought to be treated as such, mainly as there is no "this would be cool to integrate retroactively" subforum. Please feel free to disregard this post if it offends you.

  4. This buff, purchasable once you've done the renowned heart, has no apparent effect on fishing power.

It should be noted that I have the mastery maxed and am using the +150 fishing food, so my baseline with bait+lure rests at 625. Both with and without the buff applied, however. 0 stacks of the skiff fishing buff.

Obviously, something is wrong here. Either the tooltip for the buff is inaccurate, or it is totally broken.

  5. I know this may seem relatively minor, but the difference between the Crafting Material Coffer on the Cantha track vs the Desert track is very frustrating. Once you have all the recipes, you're limited to either 3 more soybeans, or tofu (.which you make from 3 soybeans). The Desert Coffer at least has a pitcher of coffee, which you can either sell for more or salvage for 10 exotic extract.

Apologies for putting this under General Discussion, but the EoD feedback subforum is archived and this is both WvW and PvP relevant, so I wasn't sure where to put it.

  6. Shoutout to whomever fixed this so it kinda works now ... only not in PvP? Again, if this is intentional fair enough. But the text should say so, so we know it's a deliberate design decision not a bug.

The reason I keep returning to this issue is because it's not like we can pick a different trait. Mechanized Deployment is a Minor Trait, and if it's giving us a flat nothing in any given mode then that brings down the value of the whole specialization tree.

For example, Kinetic Battery https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Kinetic_Battery doesn't seem to work with the mech at all, regardless of mode. But this isn't a dealbreaker in PvP/WvW since Adrenal Implant is a viable choice.

Sounds more like criticism of core rev being stuck with only one core ranged weapon to me. Which is a drum I've been beating for years. Core rev needs a ranged weapon suitable for condi, core engi needs a melee weapon.

It's quite a bit worse than that. I picked one particular example in order to keep my scope narrow and try to avoid my post degenerating into a general rant. There are plenty of other posts, in this thread and across the topic, with people detailing their issues with the Vindicator.

Another concrete example for you, having gotten in some more time: the vindicator is absolutely awful with combos. It's especially ironic considering Anet is (rightly!) putting extra emphasis on combos and smarter gameplay with EoD only for them to make Rev's new elite spec with a measly one leap! Why is Nomad's advance the only field OR finisher in the entire stance, with an equally dismal whirlwind finisher on 12 second cd with GS? It's not as though there aren't plenty of places to put, for example, blast. Or projectile on the Spear.

When Harbinger's core weaponset while being a high octane DPS spec with plenty of CC an d built in boon strip is ranged.

But Vindicator does 1-2k DPS less while being a purely melee spec with no meaningful PvE utility.

Need to be in melee range to land the dodge, and since greatsword's DPS is abysmal outside casting GS5, you need sword/sword to camp on after casting GS5 to not do garbage DPS.

    ^ Well said.

  8. Once again, Revenants are back to having only the hammer – unequivocally the worst ranged weapon in the game – for ranged damage. Not only is it among the slowest (1 full second per auto attack cast) it also does less damage per attack than faster peers, eg ranger and guardian longbow. Your only ranged damage option being unusably bad is infinitely worse for Revs as a class. Revs don’t get a long list of utility skills to choose from to help balance things out. We’re stuck with whatever the Legend comes with. Not having ranged simply isn’t an option in many boss fights, and a serious if not outright fatal shortcoming in the rest.

It feels so poorly thought out when compared to Renegade. For instance, why weren’t the two legends designed for a playstyle that alternates between melee and ranged rather than offense and defense? The natural rhythm fits much better with the flow of many of your existing encounters (e.g. bounties that switch between ranged and melee phases, among many other examples). This would also help mitigate the awfulness of the hammer and the fact that our new elite spec weapon is another melee. Or make one of the Legends’ skills a summonable ranged weapon, like the Ele’s frostbow. Just throwing out examples, mind you. I’m not committed to either as a solution, just that there needs to be radical improvement to the base Rev’s ranged toolkit and/or the Vindicator needs an overhaul with an emphasis on ranged combat options.

I hate to add to the mountain of bugs and feedback with some negativity of my own, especially considering the number of rants (some deserved, others not so much) in the forums. I have played GW since Prophecies, love you guys dearly, and think EoD generally is an outstanding expansion so far. I (and many others) did submit critical feedback on the Vindicator during the beta. But as a (now former) Rev main, you need to hear how badly it needs fixing. I wish you all well.

I haven't seen any updates on whether the character slot expansions will go on sale or not. Am I missing something? They've been discounted for every anniversary sale since 2016, and quite a few other times besides then too.
I'll be hugely disappointed if they don't show up... I've been saving gems for months especially for this. The same goes for quite a few guildmates & friends too.

Would be hugely grateful if someone on the decision making side of that conversation can make things happen. Please, Anet?

Does anyone from Anet actually check this thread, or is it just where requests get filed to be forgotten? I wrote that ⬆️ in a thread that got moved here. The anniversary sale came and went, now all of September without character slots once going on sale. Not even slightly discounted. Come on, guys. Really? Character slots were a staple in every anniversary sale from 2016-2020, and quite a few more times besides. Please put it up for sale, ideally sooner rather than later? I'm not above begging.

I'm glad, besides the 1-2 blatantly selfish trolls arguing for artificial scarcity for the sake of their own wealth, we all agree Memories need to be easier to get.

Lets say you want to craft a mistforged legendaries armor set, conflux and warbringer. I.e. the legendaries you would want from wvw.

Per wiki pages, that is 8750 memories and 15500 tickets. Lets call this 43 weeks, so you would have to be getting ~200 memories a week (similar if you are crafting a set for each armor class). The chests give you ~100, the reward tracks probably give you 50 (assuming 20 something hours played to finish the diamond chest).

    https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Legendary_armor#WvW_armor_set

    https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Warbringer

    https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Conflux

I know I'm short on memories and not tickets, waiting to craft conflux of the above.

Just the TP price per memory should tell you, you don't get enough from rewards.

⬆️ I'm facing pretty much the exact same problem

You'll note that the shards of glory are in the daily chests.

    ⬆️💯

At minimum the disparity between getting Shards of Glory and Memories of Battle should be eliminated. This is just common sense. Badges don't serve the same function as Shards, but it's Badges we get in our chests. PvP has zero built in cost for gear/siege/consumables/etc but still rewards gold whereas we get none. It just doesn't make sense. I implore any devs reading to get around to fixing the disparity with the alliances/wvw rework at the latest, ideally sooner rather than later.

  12. @Swing.6439 said:Hi, where's druid if y'all are making changes to support builds? Or did you forget that you completely disgraced the class along with the other HoT specs because you desperately want people to buy PoF?

HoT has been included with PoF for years.

Anyway, that being said I do agree with some of the other commenters that Rev and Druid have been oddly neglected. If there are specific reasons for leaving them out of the support buffs, I'm sure we'd love to hear them. I love my Rev and I have lots of freedom to play her differently ... in PvE. I have just one viable option in sPvP.

But perhaps most importantly, thanks for communicating with us! A few people have already said that, but I just wanted to add how much I personally appreciate it. It's the #1 area for improvement for Arenanet, imo....well, unless you count getting bought by a publisher that ~~isn't sucking your blood dry ~~takes a more supportive role of the studio, obviously

  13. Nearly 9 years now since another curious fellow asked this very question on the old forums.

For those who don't know, "-Acht" is the name at the end of every description of a new pet when your ranger first charms them.

I hope an employee knows who came up with the idea of signing off "-Acht" on pet descriptions, how it started and why. Not urgent of course, just intensely curious. :)
