Exit points over spawning in story missions

I am helping a player with Living story season 4 missions and every time I hit a check point or get dropped by the big spider in Legacy. WTF is the point of this? The host player accidentally left the mission and it disrupts action camera movement. Please fix this bug/design choice as it is ridiculous. -
