REWARD | meaning in the Cambridge English Dictionary

Look at these people with blind faith defending selling a reward is ok,

I simply love customers like you.

So, when you spend the 200G do you get the mount skin?  Oh right, you don't, what you get is a reward track which is content you need to complete to receive a reward. Sounds very similar to how you can buy a living story episode and get rewards when you complete it. HMM

Staff is not a weapon for dps, so that one is ruled out.

Scepter and Axe is both 900 range.  So no, we do not have a true long range weapon.

And we already have melee condi reaper.

We do have focus with 1200 range spinal shivers, but it's not a mainhand and just 1 skill.  I'd definitely like to see a true range spec for necro.

-I am currently doing Path of Fire story (Tried HoT , way too hard), I am in second map but cannot progress story since I need a different mount that jumps stuff instead of Sprint raptor, nothing tells me where to go, every green marker is out of reach , I get lost constantly , and the only thing I see is people in flying mounts that have a much easier time than me in every single aspect of the game.

You cannot progress past that point in the story until you unlock the Springer. I  recommend just checking the wiki when you find yourself in a position like that. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Springer. Will make your life a lot easier.  I'm in the same position as you 40+ working full time, kids etc.  I played from release for 5  years and then quit up until about a month ago. Wiki has guided me through getting back into the game.

  4. Well you are talking about 'fundamental principles of good pvp game balance' seems to me a statement like that is very broad and encompasses more then just a single class.

Now maybe you want to explain how it removes choice and/or how it breaks game balance. Because you actually haven't made any sort of point in this topic.

Which should be pretty easy to do most hours, especially when mag has been a t1 population server for a long time (usually in t4) while every other server is medium or high, regardless of the labels anet puts on servers.

Oh no doubt mag is a t1 server, especially with the SBI link. We seem to have good coverage at almost all times save for a few hours here and there.

I think sand shades being cast both at the target marker and at the caster's feet breaks one of the fundamental principles of good PvP game balance: choice. Anet will never be able to properly balance out scourge as long as the mechanics remain as they are.

Hmm, does Mesmer shatter also break "fundamental principles of good PvP game balance:choice"?

But it's been like that for years.  Seems convenient that for multiple years a scout will call the exact same time we get close to even numbers...every time.  This is what chat with friends on other servers looks like when we both face Mag.

Friend: how's mag week for you guys going?

Me: same as always, they have more than twice our number pushing.  You?

Friend: we haven't see them yet this morning.

Me: Ah, yeah, it's been 25 vs 5-10 of us all morning.  Ghost town over here.

    couple minutes later...

Me: ok we're up to about 20 now, mag left.

Friend: yeah, I was gonna ask if you had people log in, mag is out front in the road.  About 30 of them vs 10 of us.

This happens every time we face mag.  This is what every server reports when they face mag.  Seems a mag scout calls any time the enemy is almost on even footing.

Yeah except the part they aren't telling you.  Oh we tried to take back our keep and lost the fight now mag is spawn camping us instead. Repeat once the other team also opens their keep.  I actually play on mag, I actually see whats happening on our end. And that's exactly what it is, bouncing back and forth trying to keep both 'summer homes'.

I almost spit out my drink.  Having faced mag more than a dozen times this year, SMC is packed full of siege, most hours.  They treb open every tower in range of smc, and only push it when they outnumber the defenders.  Occasionally, while 20 push 5 guys at a keep gate, another 3-5 will take a tower that has had walls down for 20 minutes.  This is every day, all day just about.  Every server has some good roamers, but mag rarely leaves the smc buff without more players than what they are facing.  They push your keep door, and when you show an even number or equal skill group, all of a sudden those guys are on the other third of the map pushing the other outnumbered server.

lol it's literally not though. Yes mag only cares about SMC and takes it and tries to keep it full wipe. Yes mag likes to take enemy keep and spawn camp.   But, it's just bs to say mag seige humps smc. There is almost never anything built in SMC on mag other then trebs. Yes plenty of trebs to hit towers.  Ac/catas/defensive siege  lol no, nobody bothers.

That's just because a scout called a group out somewhere else or a EWP was pulled. Mag does very well to respond to scout callouts.  Even mid-seige of a keep mag will dip and go take care of another area then come back.

You are speaking totally off-topic now .

    Have a pleasant day. 🙂

How is that off-topic?  You said all classes/professions can't do all content and they just asked which ones can't do what.

  10. Don't forget speed of rune has swift duration as well, which makes spectral walk CD pretty close to the amount of swift it gives. Then if you have any sort of boon stealing skills or traits, you'll likely get swift often. Of course you also get swift from teammates, so Speed rune comes into play a lot more then you might think.   I use them on both power Scourge and Reaper and it's a gamechanger for me.

And i said in 99% of all GAMES and MOVIES rangers are archers and than you come up with real life crap because the "other" facts that rangers are no range class what peoples here are saying are not true at all only because rangers are no archers in THIS GAME

This isn't other games. This is gw2. In gw2 there are no "ranged classes" or "melee  classes" every single class has ranged and melee options and even combinations of them. No class has a main weapon.

Arguing this is just making you look silly here.

Also, Ranger LongBow is an amazingly effective weapon especially in wvw. And barrage is not useless in any encounter 😄

spies don't really exist. supply depots tend to be emptied by your own people for golem rushes or overall siege. u know, that is what supply is for. offensive siege, against enemy stuff. u might not see that, depending on what u do.

its not "bots" that "steal" ... "your" ... supply. just people playing the game using it... to attack stuff.

I have no idea if its similar on other servers. But on Maguuma we regularly have "spies" from enemy servers who sit all day popping tactics and do stuff like burning supply building rams inside a tower. They openly admit to this.

This isn't meant as an attack or anything just updating your info.

Siphon healing is baked in to the individual siphon's. For example Battle Scars, the damage scales off of your  power while the healing scales with healing power.

This is entirely dependent on how the system detects/manages positional data. Assuming the have used the correct data structure you are right, but there are some concerning hints in the way data is displayed.
Firstly, given the lag of WvW it is entirely possible AoE's have to check against all players that could be hit, potentially checking the entire map population. Secondly, OJ's are updated periodically and don't instantly pop up. This implies that the code related to detecting OJ's is only able to run every couple of seconds to avoid lagging their server infrastructure.

It could just work off the orange swords. If you're in an area with active orange swords, w.e debuff to ressing you guys want could be applied.

  14. This is how I run it. No idea if it's close to the build templates online or anything.

I find it to be much tankier then my Reaper build.  Everything you do with this build corrupts boons and gives them to you.  All your shades will clear condies when cast and give barrier. F3 for more barrier and clear on short CD and f2 for convert conditions to boons also short CD.   You will want to do "spectral rushes".  Using spectral walk to go in the middle of the enemy zerg and use shroud, elite, aoe corrupts from weapons and your heal to corrupt a lot of boons and do a lot of damage then just walk back into safety.  I generally drop well of corruption before my rush to soften them up a bit.   When not rushing, use your #3's on weapons liberally and use Spinal Shivers to snipe people under 50% hp with boons.

You just got to get used to dropping those shades for the barrier/clears and passive defense bonus.

If you want to be much more tanky for and lose a little(not alot) of your damage, switch Spite to Bloodmagic and take bloodbank.  You will always have a fat barrier in zergs due to overhealing.

Don't strawman it. The challenge was about killing the druid, nothing more.

What happened here was a hard lesson learned for  @hobotnicax.7918 about where overconfidence, toxicity, and apathy gets you.

Hey I'm just a bystander whos been reading this thread.  But I have to say, sure technically that was the "challenge" for your "community event" but we all know what the real argument of the *thread was about, and you lost it 100%.

You failed to prove the claims you had made, and hobo sure performed in a superior way in the fight.
