  1. Festivals are meant to be seasonal - they take place for a specific period of time, then they go. But some of us may want to spend a bit more time in a place like the Mad Labyrinth. Or Super Adventure World. Or Tixx's Workshop. In addition, while there's a lot of lounge options, I could see some people wanting a more dark/gothic theme lounge fitting for their Necromancer or Revenant. So I was thinking of specific lounges that take place in instances based off seasonal events. These lounges shouldn't be a means of perpetuating a festival (i.e. you can't replay Super Adventure World levels when the festival is no longer active), but it could be a way for some people who really, really like a festival to be able to enjoy it all year round. Personally, I'd love the chance to experience Wintersday more than just once. Whether its some small part of Tixx's workshop, or some place high above the Winter Wonderland, I'd like a lounge where I can have that cozy Wintersday feel at any time in the year.
  2. Thanks for the insight! At least there's one easier option of getting such badges. That said, I still feel there should be an easier way to get antique summoning, especially when considering the relative ease of acquiring elegy mosaics and amalgamated gemstones You can. The point of the topic is the expense. I feel that the new legendaries are a lot more expensive compared to the older legendaries if we go by buying all the prerequisite items.
  3. People have been comparing the Dragon's End meta to a raid due to the comparatively intense difficulty, and the need for familairity with mechanics, as well as the tight space of the platform is somewhat comparable to a raid. In addition, videos demonstrating successful completion of the meta demonstrate almost raid-like mechanics. So it got me thinking - why not just have the DE Meta be classified as a raid? To explain, as much as I have been in mostly failed instances of the meta, part of the appeal of the challenge, despite the seemingly low reward, is just the idea of beating the challenge. For me, I'm less interested in getting the siege turtle, or getting the achievement, as much as I want to be able to say "I beat the Dragons End meta when it was most difficult". I do think nerfs would be beneficial as, considering its a meta that provides currencies/tokens involved in the crafting of the new legendaries, its rewards should be more available to the casual player. That said, and noting that Anet intended the event to be the climatic end of the decade-long dragon storyline, I can see why they want to make this meta the mother of all battles. In many ways its a lot like an elder dragon version of the Sunqua Fractal boss fight. As such, I feel there should be an option for guilds and 50 man raid squads to play the meta with its intended difficulty, while at the same time considering nerfs for those who want to finish it to get the Siege Turtle/other acheevs. EDIT: I should mention that a lot of the difficulty with DE reminds me of the original revamp of Tequatl, which many people didn't take kindly too. I can remember how, back in the day, it took a co-ordinated effort, 30minutes in advance, just to be able to beat Tequatl. Considering that the Dragons End meta is meant to be on a public instance, I think that in addition to a raid option, there should also be the option for a guild to host a public instance without having to do all the pre-events. Doing so would allow guilds to be able to practice public instances of the events with other players
  4. Taking a break from the current debacle about the EoD meta to talk about a separate that I've been observing - current G3 legendaries are a lot harder to craft/acquire when compared to G1, G2 and G2.5 legendaries. Yes, a free precursor comes for everyone who finished all the "return to living world" acheevs, and the EoD story rewards you with a precursor recipe, but thats just the precursor. Almost everything else is time-gated, or very limited. To hone in on the point a bit further, I shall compare the difficulties of G3 legendaries when compared to the previous generations: G1 - Most tedious grind is full world map completion - core Tyria is larger than any expansion maps. Dungeon tokens need to be grinded, with a specific amount can be earned a day. People who WvW a lot can earn said tokens quickly. That said, fairly cheap when compared to G2 G2 - G2 legendaries refer specifically to the HoT launch legendaries of Nevermore, Astralaria, HOPE and Chuka & Chumpawat. These legendaries can only be made with the HoT options and not the PoF options As such, these legendaries are a lot harder and more expensive to make due to grinding the HoT metas, and with that, the specific currencies/loot for each HoT map, including Dragon Stand. Map completion is a tricky matter - no hearts to clear, but the Maguuma jungle is comparatively labrythine. There's also the added cost of 250 mystic coins, on top of the 77 mystic coin cost. G2.5. - refers to legendaries released after Chuka & Chumpawat, starting from Eureka and ending with Exordium. These legendaries depend on recipes that rely on legendary shards Shards require a lot of wood and mithril, .but there are ways to acquire these shards economically. PoF introduces a recipe that replaces the HoT meta currencies/tokens with elegy mosaics. These mosaics can be obtained from doing legendary bounties, or any of the four PoF metas. elegy mosaics are not time gated - while one can get a sepcific PoF reward chest a day, one can repeat a PoF meta or bounty a day to get more mosaics. These factors make G2.5 legendaries cheaper to make when compared to G2. G3 - The Aurene weapons come with a lot more time gating, especially when compared to the G2 and G1 weapons. For the memories of aurene, while up to 15 can be earned a day, one of those include the currently controversial DE meta. Not counting that, during the Dragon storm daily would take at least 20 days. However, the bigger problem is the antique summoning stones - 100 is needed, but only 5 can be earned a week, meaning it will take at least 20 weeks to earn enough stones to make a legendary. And thats not counting the lamplighter's badge (which, to my understanding, requires map completion and sacrificing a Map completion gift that could be used to make a Gift of Cantha) Other difficult items to acquire include the Hydrocatalytic reeagents and the amalgamated gemstones. When considering all this, the supposedly cheaper mystic clover requirement of 38 as opposed 77 seems a lot minor. Having broken it down in this manner, I feel that certain tokens/currencies should be more available, such as the antique summoning stones and the lamplighter's badge. While I get the idea of encouraging people to explore Cantha in full with their alts, some people may not want this option.
  5. No reason? For every chain severed, it drops a box worth 1g in loot. Its also a VERY good source of watchwork sprockets, which you can use to craft stuff like Runes of Tormenting. Thats gold. And again, a successful Marionette nets 2g. If you do TTT, Marionette, Tequatl and Dragonstorm, along with the Daily, thats 10g. Top that up with daily fractal,. and its a good way to make money. The issue was that the event WAS active before Halloween. A lot of people were doing it for at least three instances.
  6. Before Halloween, people were doing the Twisted Marionette. It wasn't that active, but a person could join the Public Marionette at reset, the instance after reset, and the one after that with a fairly moderate to high chance of success. But then Halloween came. Everyone went to do the Mad Labyrinth, and the timing clashed with "The Mad King Says". People only did the Public Marionette instance at reset itself. Halloween has been over for a week now, and yet people STILL don't do the Public Marionette. I have tried, many times, to run a Public Marionette Instance, ferrying people from the Karka Queen timing to Public marionette. And most time it fails because many of the people are unfamiliar with the mechanics (especially for Lane 2). The issue bothers me a lot because this a world boss much like Dragonstorm, Tequatl, and TTT. It nets 2G. However, people are discouraged from doing the Marionette past reset. And when it comes to reset, you have to join fast, or you end up on the overflow, and people dont seem willing to advertise overflow. Its fairly irritating, because this was a public event I was enjoying until Halloween lessened interest in it.
