I just did an upgrade to my computer so that hopefully GW2 would get higher than 30-40 fps, but now I'm getting 15-20fps maximum and it's making playing nearly impossible. I even lowered a bunch of settings that were higher with my old build, and it's still super low FPS. I am running the game in the normal DX9.
I can't remember the old specs, but here are the new:
NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti
Intel i5-11400F @ 2.60 GHz 11th Gen
32 GB Ram DDR4 (1200 MHz max)
Win 10
I moved GW2 from my hard drive to ssd to also help, not sure if this made it worse somehow
I know before I had a 1050 Ti and a 1st gen Ryzen with more cores but I was told the i5 would out perform it since the Ryzen was pretty old.
I want the game to look nice, but also function. I've followed a lot of the information I was able to find online (turning off v sync, lowering character limit, native, etc) but there are some things I don't want to lower like the HQ character textures -- which was running at the higher FPS before this upgrade anyway. I've updated the drivers. Turned off windows game mode, turned off NVIDIA game overlay, etc.
I'm really not sure what is going on here or what I can try to get some decent FPS for doing things in-game.
