  1. low skill level players in any PvP game will always be unable to handle any burst dmg builds.

    have fun balancing for people who don't run stunbreaks or use dodge key.

    you'll end up with builds like rifle auto mecha which is easy enough for noobs to play, but since it does dmg no noob can fight it. DH is also a great build for noobs to get easy kills on other noobs with, and is completely hated by the noobs who just stand on point in AoE not using skills and dying. go figure lol.

    I don't think you can actually give noobs an easy to play dmg build and not have all the others noobs hate the build because another noob can kill them with it.

  2. just cut to the chase & give perma quick & alac whenever you are in a party of squad in PvE

    its the goal they have in mind, so they should just make it a feature of being in a party or squad. if you need the boons for party or squad content, & they have to be apparently applied in a way that doesn’t take up an entire utility bar, or take lots of effort to upkeep- ie passive boon application. then what the heck, just roll the boons into the party/squad mechanic then everyone can play what they want & not have to do anything to keep the boons up.

    uhhh no one else can dodge after being cc’d they just dodge before it hits them. maybe you can learn to do this too?

    Baffled...... SB already is useless in zerg Vs zerg why even bother giving us boon removal at this point

    entire patch is full of nerfs to boon rip in WvW, and buffs to boons. considering how many boons people have now break enchantment is gonna just get rid of swiftness after the patch. spellbreaker kekw the class is getting harder and harder to justify playing at all

    they want to get rid of rewards for the losing team in ranked, discouraging PvP participation.

    they want duo removed again, even tho it was added back by anet because a large amount of players quit when it was removed- especially higher rated players.

    its like the goal is: how small can the pop get?

    Hopefully the buffs to damage, evasion, traits, mitigation, and utility cooldowns needed for thief to function scale appropriately. I don't think you've fully considered all the damage and init changes that would need to be made to justify the thief you wish to fight, but I'm sure if we ever come to that bridge you will understand then. 

    you mean like fighting any other class in the game that's not thief and can't hide in stealth?

    yeah I think I'm ready for it. I think everyone is.

    it's not like thief would need to buffed to better than the other classes, it just needs to be as good as rev, ranger or anything. unless of course you think thief has to be more powerful than all other classes for some reason... which considering thief only dies when it wants to right now, I can see how a thief player could have this belief.

    it's the easiest fix for stealth, and even solves the thread complaining about moa, cos casting moa would reveal you- so no more stealth moas. all the unavoidable stealth openings would be something you could now counter play. awesome, great change.

     I don't whiff in stealth anyway; a couple years ago people complained the aftercast for backstab into the ground so most thieves already adapted to this. Most stealth durations are so low we only get one shot at casting a stealth attack before reveal to begin with. 

    You'll break leaping in smoke fields. bound, cluster bomb, vault and heartseeker all do damage but serve as stealth tools. Those also happen to be some of the main ways you can be hurt by thieves.

    well aware it kills most of the stealth stacking in the game. this means long stealth is hard to achieve and stealth is something that can only be used for short periods of time, unless a cooldown like shadow refuge is used which would be one of the few ways to get long stealth.

     

    making stealth less available is a good thing. reducing the time someone can hide in stealth is a good thing. making it reveal on cast also gets rid of all the stealth gank combos that give you no option to react because they come from stealth (no reaction kills are a quit moment for most players, and a sign of a bad game imo).

    it's an excellent change and would improve the game a ton.

    all skills with damage should reveal on cast.

  9. why not just use one of the GW1 modes that people actually enjoyed that didn't have a circle to bunker.

    thats all the game needs really. a 5v5 mode that doesn't encourage bunker builds (the reason why conquest is bad btw). going to 1v1 is pure pepega, considering the game isn't balanced for it at all. 2v2 and 3v3 are already a mess, 1v1 will be worse.

    honestly anet actually working on a project and iterating on stronghold could have been good. feel like sticking with a mode that encourages bunker builds when you don't want people to play them is just a pure moron move, so we need a new gamemode.

    doubt we will get it tho. can't see any actual app changes happening again ever.

    consider two points.

     

    firstly, the matchmaker is not putting gold and plats in games because of an error, it's doing so because it literally doesn't have enough players to form two teams of plat players.

    so if plats have to play with plats, they might not end up being able to play PvP at all.

    secondly, a new account is assigned 1200 rating when they start ranked. how can a matchmaker make meaningful distinctions in player quality when a new player is gold 1?

    I would suggest rating new accounts by default at 1200 is one of the reasons both player retention is so low, and it's also why gold has such a wide skill disparity. I would imagine the default rating being 800 or 900 would lead to much more balanced games, but what do I know. maybe gold 1 being new account is really the best way to set up MMR kekkekeke

  12. new accounts start with 1200 rating in ranked, gold one.

     

    new players on their first game are weighted gold one. how can anyone expect the skill rating system to work with any accuracy when a new player is gold....

     

    it's actually a joke if gold one is 'my first PvP game' and they have to play with plats.

    This has nothing to do with abusing 5 solo players with 5 man premade team. Getting rid of 5 man premades was one of anets best decisions.

    if it was such a good move, why has the population been constantly falling? if the PvP mode is even better now, why do less people play?

     

    I mean, WvW is even worse. you can abuse solo players with a 50 man premade there and it's the second most popular mode. no sign of it dying kekw

    PvP pop was a lot larger and more healthy back when we had mixed queue. now it's just solo duo and the pop is so bad it can't even make full plat games.

     

    perhaps removing the ability to play with your friends may have had an impact, in participation and in recommending the gamemode. I mean, it's a hard sell to say 'download this game we can't play together' lol.

     

    I mean hey, maybe all of the pop drop is due to bad balance etc, but it's not like the patching or meta was even that good then. sad to say we are in one of the best patch cadences the game has ever had. this is not the worst meta either, and honestly before cata the meta was pretty nice.

     

    I mean, maybe it's nothing and there is no connection between removing mixed and the population drop- but I still think about WvW. it's the other PvP mode the game has, and let's be real has been more neglected for both content and balance than even PvP. however it's still the second most played gamemode, the only thing that beats it in player numbers is open world PvE. so I look at two PvP modes, both hellishly neglected, and one let's you play with a single person and is dead with no community, and the other let's you play with 50+ friends at once and has tons of players and a big community. idk man, just a theory XP

    these are the the reasons honestly, only thing missing is no banning of afk or toxic players. years of afk with no bans have ruined the community.

     

    no idea how I'm supposed to get my discord friends into ranked when me and my duo partner can't play w them so we just play WvW. literally can't recommend a gamemode we can't play together.

    hey, maybe it would work if the DH was the only afk player I had encountered, but sadly he was just an example and not the sole afk player gw2 has to offer.

     

    as far as the same team winning MAT all the time, yeah I already know and don't care. it's been this way for years, and doesn't matter to me at all.

     

    as for the same players occupying the top of the leaderboard season after season, well we already have this. I'll bet that with 5 man Q it would still be the exact same players at the top of the leaderboard, maybe a few less alt accounts that's all. literally no difference at all. 5 man, solo, duo it's the same players at the top.

     

    is there unranked? sure, but the player quality is awful and few players are even playing to win. farming noobs in unranked is only fun for a few games, shock horror I like a challenge and would relish fighting those so called geeks. sure you think we will never win, but I've taken matches off players like Vaanss when he has a had a full team in AT and I've been with my duo partner and LFG pugs with no voice coms at all. maybe with an avenue to practice we would improve as a team, and grow into those geeks you so fear.

     

    regardless, I'd rather play the game with my team and lose than have the match decided by an afk- every- single- time.

     

    sure, just delete unranked and give it ranked rewards so people actually play it seriously and try to win. I'll play that with no afk players on my team. I'm down. honestly if anet actually banned people so people wouldn't afk I would be totally fine with duo queue, hey but let's be real anet actually moderating PvP is as delusional as thinking the population will rise and the matchmaking will be fixed like that. won't happen.

     

    honestly I'm a simple human. I'm just a gamer, who wants to play video game with other people who also want to play the video game.

     

    if anet doesn't want to ban afk players or do anything for the current matchmaker I see no other solution than being able to choose my team and fix what anet refuses to myself.

    now this is a wild take. actually assuming the matchmaker has enough plat players to make a full game of two plat teams. now that's a big meme. I fight the top 10 players on all of my accounts, regardless of what rating the account is on. plat 2 I face Boyce, gold 1 yep still Boyce and the top 10. the game is so devoid of players it doesn't seem to matter what my rating is I get plat + gold + silver in my games. 

     

    but yeah sure, go restrict duo Q and make people quit just like they did last time anet restricted it. people can quit, the pop can drop even further and the matches can get even worse. awesome solution.

     

    people will still afk. people will still wintrade. pop will still be too tiny to make good matches. same people will be Q dodging and playing at off hours. people will still smurf. nothing will change at all except players who used to be able to duo won't be able to and will quit thus further reducing the population.
