  1. GW2 is old. Really old. The engine is old, the graphics are old, the community is old and the coding is a mess as a result of being old. Does that mean it's time to move on? Not if you're comparing it to WoW Classic, or OSR. Feel free to point out other successful old MMOs, but the age of this game is NOT subjective.

I think we should give it a chance. Even if it's just prettier Guild Wars 2.  Let's see what they're cooking.

  2. I don't really know what to tell you. The only people you accept feedback from are in a discord group with you. Do you trust those people to steer the game in the correct direction?

Just take a single look in the forums when you nerf something else about Elementalist. It just confuses everyone, and now we know why you don't respond to that confusion. It makes me wonder if someone in your feedback group is just trying to sabotage things for their own gain, the obtuse changes would make so much more sense from that perspective.

Of course it's not a real perspective. I hope.

  3. It is really confusing to me that there weren't any new SAB-themed gemstore items in the store this year, as there have been every year - and even moreso confusing that there's no infinite continue coin, or any of the gliders... did something go wrong here? I know that there's an overly-vocal minority who hate SAB, and will most definitely read this despite that and even reply to it just to state their hatred for it, but... honestly? Who cares about them?

If I could wager a guess, I'd say it'd be because the new items were dependent on actually participating in SAB - that I can understand (even though the armor is very deliberately designed to look nothing like SAB). But even then, that still doesn't explain the lack of SAB-themed gemstore items that haven't even been put on sale for the entirety of SAB... so what's going on here exactly?

  4. At this point it is a joke - End of Dragons hasn't even been out for a month and Elementalist is being nerfed. Elementalist mains have it rough - it stung when Wash The Pain Away got its first nerf, it stung when Obsidian Flesh stopped you from fighting back, and now we're having our swords taken away and replaced with wet noodles.

Let's just nerf Elementalist's ability to breathe oxygen next.

Wouldn't that be ironical if ANet would transfer all the Turtle from people who say doesn't need a Turtle and gives them to those who probably have participated in the even 200% more time than them so they would have to re-earn it with the same condition we had.

I wouldn't be surprised if the person who wrote this post did the meta in a big guild as a syncronized group. No-one who failed the event as much times as 3 or 4 would say "please don't nerf this" because they would be sick of the same thing happening every time.

  6. It's one thing to fail an event due to people lacking synergy, it's another to fail it over and over and over, and when you finally get a squad with good synergy, it fails because of the servers.

It doesn't matter how many times people say "don't stand in the green aoes", all it takes is one person to ruin the entire thing. The only people who could possibly complain is the people who aren't taking others into consideration. You could do it perfectly every single time and still fail because people ignore chat.

"Don't nerf the meta" you say, well I'd like for you to experience the same frustration I have. The event is far too long to say "all people need to do is learn", because every single time is a new set of players who don't understand or don't read chat.

This meta's success is, unintentionally, based on how lucky you are to get into a squad that listens. That may not be the intended design, but it is the way things currently are. One person can ruin a whole hour's worth of effort. And you say "don't nerf the meta".

You simply have not experienced the frustration others have.

Playable Tengu never made sense. Sure there is the animation and equipment factor. There is also the factor that within the game, they wouldn't be able to slot in well with previous content/story and it would therefore make zero sense for a Tengu to be the Pact Commander.

There's no need to make them pact commander. They could have their own personal story that takes place in Cantha, and when you complete that story, you get to travel to Tyria.

  8. I fully expect a flying multiplayer mount. They kept saying "multiplayer mounts" with an 's', so that'll be a neat thing to have, not just in Cantha, but the rest of Tyria too.

Playable Tengus wasn't announced, which is not okay. If the reasoning is because there's no time to remodel every single outfit, just make Tengu unique outfits. Tengu models are already done, now they just need animations, which are easier to make than you'd think. There is absolutely no reason why there can't be some kind of compromise for this to be a new feature.

I'm excited for EoD, personally. The new especs are the most exciting part for me, and I'm willing to pay 30 bucks for that alone.

  9. Thank you.

Whoever did this, you are a saint. This was the biggest issue I had with SAB for years, and I can't imagine it was easy to do given the game's spaghetti coding, but thank you so, so much for this. We used to have to just pray to RNG that we'd even get the bounce on places like the Pain Cliffs and especially during tribulation where everything is a trap it was just absurd to think that we had to tolerate that and nobody would ever try to fix it.

I don't know how you did it with the outdated coding, but thank you again so much for fixing this. It's improved the experience exponentially.

Now we got SAB mounts in the open world..:(

why, SAB is part of asuran culture, they spend most of their lives being inventors, are they not allowed to geek off from time to time?

Well, I am not a fan of SAB items outside of SAB, either. Yet, I love SAB. It just doesn't fit into the "real" world of Tyria.

if we're talking about the "real" world of tyria, then in the "real" world of earth, that's like saying you can't wear your favourite t-shirt haha

I read the documentation, it was pretty vague, I don't like vague when it comes to this sort of thing, so I will speculate, because at the moment that's all we can do.

There probably was a very good reason why the exact information was exempt from that list.

  12. the problem with this is that your expectations will be shattered by the sheer amount of invisible walls that will suddenly appear all over the game world, once you have permaflying, you will complain that everything around it needs to be improved too.

this is something that can only work in maps built to support it, and then all we'll get is puzzles involving never touching the floor or else you die.
