MMO Junkie.3245's Achievements

  1. Wife and I recently started playing. We are level capped and just finished the PoF story and working on LS4. We understand the Skyscale grind is long and we're up for it, but all the guides are very confusing, assuming we know and understand terms like "Return Achievements", "Charged Quartz Crystal dailies", "home instance farming", etc. We're new and quite overwhelmed! We also understand there are some efficiencies to gathering up materials we will later need, while we are working on the LS4 story. But we're having a hard time deciphering them. Is there a step-by-step guide that can help us understand an efficient way of getting to our goal while we are working on LS4? Thanks in advance for any insights or suggestions. We are loving this game (omg, the PoF story was wonderful), but still learning the environment.
  2. LOL, ok, fair enough. Just to be clear, I'm not power boosting out of any power fantasy, it's more about getting past the leveling process. I'm the kind of player who is interested in playing all the various content, and not really into story (don't hate on me), so going through the story line just isn't a priority. I want to explore while being able to handle to open world, I want to do dungeons, and I want to join in world boss fights and events. I've played enough MMOs and been slapped around enough to know better than to think that I can take on the toughest content with a power boost. I intend to invest a lot of time getting to know my character and my build before hitting hardest content. I'm more of a lifeskiller and I don't PvP, so getting into the high end gathering and crafting while being able to farm the highest level components, is another plus to the boost. I'm glad to hear that the boost offers a trial experience, that really makes a difference. Many thanks for that info! Your advice on the gems sounds perfect for me, too. Thanks!
  3. I'm thinking of using the boost, which is something I've never done in any game. But unlike many other games, the scaling makes it possible for me to level cap without missing out on any content, as I can go back and do whatever I feel like at my leisure. In fact, it seems like I get *more* options using it. I like the character I'm playing and I'm learning how to use the skills and stuff, but almost every guide I read talks about endgame builds, very few up to date guides on leveling builds, so I'm kind of eager to put something together that is made for endgame play. But I have reservations, or I guess questions. 1) What happens to Hero points. I can't seem to find a way to refund or respec, so when I hit 80, will I be extremely underpowered without the ability to make a build that matches L80 content? 2) I bought the EoD ultimate edition, so I should have access to all the content in the game, right? What's the best way to use the 4000 crystals that come with that package, should I buy a mount, a fishing boat (I really want to fish and become a chef), is there anything else I should be considering doing with those crystals? 3) Any other advice or warnings about this approach? Thanks for any insights or suggestions!
  4. To be perfectly honest, I've been meaning to ask about the L80 boost. It's not something I've *ever* done, but this game makes it more appealing than I expected. I want to see the new content, I'd like a mount, I'd love to fish, and so on, and the ability visit every zone and still do the content in any order I like, makes it so that I don't feel I'm missing out on anything. In fact, using the L80 boost seems to provide *more* options. Thanks for the input, folks, I think I'm going to give it a try.
  5. Just created my ANet account today and bought the Ultimate Edition, so I have all expansions currently downloading. When I get into the game, can I start anywhere, like the EoD world, or do I have to start in one of the earlier game zones? Can I level up in one of these newer zones instead of going through all the original storylines? I heard this game's MSQ is very non linear, and I'm more into the activities and less into story (don't hate on me), so I would really like to get into the newest content. Thanks
