Nevertell.5083's Achievements

  1. The time spent killing veterans in the area and the gigantic skulls on the minimap visible while anywhere else on the map when they are found is more than sufficient for that purpose. Scouring half a map while taking constant damage, blocking mounting, and while fighting more dangerous than usual mob enemies for 5 needles in a crowbar stack is needlessly tedious.
  2. Get rid of the stupid scavenger hunt mechanic and make the health of the zealots scale with player count. As it stands currently, the meta is designed to fail and players actively avoid doing it.
  3. Ranger spirits with alacrity Also the OP is about healing specs in particular.
  4. Huh. So it can. Can it also heal/barrier like Scourge does?
  5. tl;dr Firebrand is OP and I want heal Warrior to be better
  6. With the changes from the last two updates, every class except now has the ability to provide one of the two most important boons to a party: alacrity and quickness. Elementalist Tempest: alacrity on overload completion. Ranger Druid: alacrity on spirit active. Thief Specter: alacrity on shadowstep wells. Revenant Renegade: alacrity from orders. Mesmer Chronomancer: alacrity or quickness from shield ability and clone popping. Necromancer Harbinger: quickness from the Deathly Haste trait. Engineer: alacrity from Mechanist bot abilities; quickness from Scrapper gyro wells. Guardian Firebrand: quickness from mantras and the elite shout. And now Warrior with its banners. However, there's one thing Warrior cannot do that every other one of these classes (with the exception of Necromancer) can: they can all also be healers. Tempest: passive and active healing from water skills. Druid: healing and regeneration from staff and celestial form. Specter: burst healing and barrier from shadow form. Renegade: healing from centaur abilities. Chronomancer: healing from wells, mantras, and clone summoning/popping. Engineer: various healing abilities from kits and barriers from mech/gyro abilities. Firebrand: healing and defensive boons from staff and virtue tomes. Each of these classes, either on their own or with the assistance of another healer, can keep large amounts of people topped off and fighting. Even Warrior can do this with their shouts by taking the Vigorous Shouts talent from the tactics tree. However, in the vast majority of parties, from open world to fractals to raiding and even PvP to a certain extent, healers are expected to bring one of these vital boons in addition to keeping the party alive. Warrior is the only one of these classes that cannot do this, because each banner taken reduces the healing output of the Warrior immensely. The choice currently is either you can heal, you can provide quickness to the party, or your can do both very poorly. This does not seem particularly balanced, considering Scrapper and Firebrand can provide constant quickness while also being able to keep a party completely healed. On top of that, it takes multiple utility slots filled with banners to do what a Firebrand can do with a single mantra, while Scrappers' full array of gyro abilities also provide barrier and superspeed. Couple that with the fact Firebrand and Scrapper can both choose not to fill the healer role while retaining their ability to provide quickness for the party. How can this be remedied? In my opinion, the solution is to move quickness onto shouts. This will allow the Warrior to fill the role the Firebrand and Scrapper does while being able to opt out of healing if they choose to. Alternately, move healing onto banners. Either through direct healing or barrier, the banner can pulse some form of health recovery (besides a single banner providing regeneration) in addition to the boons they already do. Or, if you're feeling wacky, you can make Bladesworn a healer by having them pull out a staff that cauterizes wounds instead of a sword that causes them. Mechanist already alters their primary class feature in both form and function through talents, so I don't see why Warriors can't too. In conclusion, Warrior as a buff support is severely underpowered in relation to the other classes that fulfill the same role. I appreciate the fact we have a new quickness support option, but I believe it's still undesirable in comparison to the others available and requires attention.
