  1. guilds form an alliance. a population might be formed by some alliances depending on their size and might be filled up with solo players to meet certain numbers. > conclusion: a guild is a far less sized part (what did i mess up? infact, you didnt read/ understand correctly!) none of my issues were solved by joining one guild! i might be able to talk with guild mates like pple do in pve - but man, we discuss wvw! i tested beta as a member of a guild and i went solo in a beta - none of the issues were solved! just relax, let guild focussed player reign and we will see peak times once per day - but the remaining 21 hrs per day will be a lonely way with empty maps. a game mode like wvw will not survive this, but hey, enjoy as long as it works 😉 so, the focus needs to be on forming a healthy wvw population rather than supporting yet another field for guild experiences, which are already supported by pve.
  2. it's a common misconception, that you only need to join a guild to solve all these issues, because a guild is a far less sized part of a population (alliance). the population as a whole needs to meet these points to work together towards a common goal. such thinking ("stubborn, stupid players only need to join a guild") is a blank cheque for devs to make their work for themselves easier and to blame the players, if things work out wrong. a population must be formerd - actively by the players when joining a guild, - passively by game options how guilds can be grouped and also - passively by game rules when single players are grouped to alliances to fill up empty spaces it's not possible to restrict yourself only to communicate within a guild, because wvw is far different from a pve/ raid environement. such a wvw environement needs conditions to support group game play and for this is communication as well as understanding/ background crucial. well, such things might be seen differently wether you see it from a society perspective as in america or with a (group of different nations) european perrspective! you can't limit your game play only towards a guild, if the mode isn't about a guild - works in pve, but we talk about wvw now. wvw is about a population, formerly known as a server! such a population can work easier, if it has common standards like described in the innitial post. ... this needs to be arranged and supported by devs/ anet better for wvw to be continued by players.
  3. (1) REGION parameter (client - login server) there is communication and there are logs, because whenever my isp gives me a different, unknown login location i have to confirm it. -> there is a database related to the login servers, which shows my region. -> use it for wvw to create populations of the same region and ofc time zone! (2) LANGUAGE parameter (client - game server) there are language settings in the client to forward to the game servers, so that the desired language output is delivered (ingame npc or cutscenes). -> there is a database related to game servers, where content of desired language is selected and from there delivered. -> use it for wvw to create populations with the same language! these two points would be the minimum requirements for me to enjoy wvw again. i want to play with people, who talk my mothertongue, who play often at the same time zone with me and who share hopefully almost the same cultural background of my region. no beta was fun and satisfying regarding these three points, wether in a beta with a guild neither in a beta without membership in a guild! but there are other parameters also possible to check as a kind of nice to have, for example: (3) the difficult question of SKILL (account - game server) only vague indicators and without order: - own death vs killing others ratio, - wvw rank, - played time in wvw per character or account wide, - time with commander tag and being followed by a group of at least 5, - leader of an active wvw guild (doing tasks in wvw vs tasks and achievements in pve), participation and spent time actively in wvw! - member of an active wvw guild (doing tasks in wvw vs tasks and achievements in pve), participation and spent time actively in wvw!
  4. concerning 1: i was in an emotional mode at this point, so i stopped myself from writing too much, which might cause bad feelings or a misunderstanding/ misinterpretation. concerning 2: the explaining words were missing in my first posting - but were following with my second. this follow up posting was very clearly formulated as well as my third also deleted posting. only somebody with a special aim or order would redefine it to get a reason for banning and deleting. concerning 3: i know this now, but i feel free to question it here and it is a welcomed point to discuss in social media. thanks. it might also be helpful to know these processes for other gamers here too - to shift problematic questions to other social media plattforms, if people fear consequences. Edit: your added/ eddited last passage shows, that it might be really necessary to shift discussions of special topics to other plattforms - because you seem to like talking very eloquent, hiding your own thoughts and providing only positions inline with anet policies, like a professional ... like an anet employee would do, using an anonymous account 😉
  5. 1. you would be right, if it would have been a mistake, but it wasnt! it was a beta test, so i have tested by purpose, what happens to people without a guild. i never thought, that the consequences were so bad for these people! i was also surprised, that the rules to form populations were missing essential parameters. this should be a good reason for critigue on devs, right?! 2. i cant provide a proof now, because i didnt make a backup of my second posting. it should be clear, that i wasnt still in "venting mood" as you like to call it, after one week of beta running and a few days of not playing wvw, right 😉? ... so, there can be only one reason for such a redefining, banning and deleting (=censorship). 3. "Discussion of moderation is not allowed." - dont you think, this is a welcomed carte blanche for any measures? and do you really seriously belief, that any customer service worker has the authority to take action or to discuss the topic with a moderator? i even think, that the customer service does not have the time or channel to do so!
  6. i started the thread here and my experience began with the invitation to the beta test ingame and the wish for feedback here in the forum. i followed this call, but i had to report bad experiences. my first, still existing posting was an angry one, it was fresh and filled with emotions. my second posting, written after beta ending, was a summary with critigue on the devs, because it seems, that their matrix to form "alliances" is missing some essential parameters: - cultural needs: like playing with "your people", who share same place of living, history, way of thinking or manners and life style - social needs: like talking in your mothertongue without the pressure to find extremely fast the correct translation with the fear of missing opportunities or for bad consequences - after thinking about it, i got to the conclusion, that this reflects real life in northamerica too: for example think about hispanic people in the usa or the french people in canada ... btw: i am a gamer from europe playing over there 😉 instead of providing support to the discussion - the moderators showed a strange, different attitude: my posting got redefined as a "quitting thread", which is helpful only for moderators with a special aim, because this identification meets their table of punishment to give me a few days forum ban and allowed them to delete my posting. my third posting was about crtitigue on moderators, because there is no other word than censorship for redefining a posting to ban the writer and to delete the posting. i thought to meet moderators, who can handle polite but clearly pronounced critigue, because its their job. well, i got a second ban and guess why, the posting got redefined to be deleted too. the likes from other gamers for my posting and the replies to my posting got deleted as well. i am curious, what happens next with my fourth posting, because the second or at least the now presumeably following third ban should be approved by a supervisor - this is a very special point in the chain of escalation and we should think about the reason for such active, aggressive, protective meassures: - The next step is an inofficial statement by an official anet representative - proving the need of protection against any, even then smallest critugue, in this case a simple forum posting - it might be seen as an inofficial assessment and forecast of performance figures - keep in mind, that only a weak product needs such ways of protection and support! - Is it a coincidence, that it happened, when the steam release started? - Is there a reason in the steamcharts, if you compare gw2 there with other games, which might give a hint for such extraordinary measures, all rules of deescalation misregarding? the gamers following me in social media are curious like me concerning the now following feedback. i am extremely thankful for their strong and numerous and encouraging support. ... and as always: i do my backup here and continue discussing over there, because internet never sleeps and never forgets and cant be deleted by an anet forum moderator.
  7. was dropped in a bowl with international players, can't chill with wvw after work and chat with my pple in my language, i terminate beta after a few min, do whatever you like with wvw, i dont care anymore, (says a veteran wvw player on lvl 9000)
