Same here. always when loading a character. doesn't matter which character. below is quoted a typical crash report. always OOM: Heap, etc. this is a steam account.

Thanks for your reminder that some things aren't available for steam accounts. It appears that this actually is. see the update below: UPDATE: even after the error message... they finally sent me an email saying "Confirmation Required" TO ANET: there seems to be a coding update on the website: it would be really nice if this was mentioned after pressing the "Sign Up" button... a good response to pressing "sign up" would be "Thank you for signing up! Look for a Confirmation Email to complete the process!" instead of "There was an unspecified error. Please try again."

More relevant information: when i login the Arenanet site using my steam account, and then try to sign up for newsletters, i constantly get an error that prevents me from signing up... this error occurs when i type in an Email address and then press the "Sign Up" button. it says that "There was an Unspecified error. Please try again." every time i try. the FAQ does not address this. Update: they finally sent me an email with a confirmation link. After clicking the confirmation link, it thanked me and said i was signed up. So look for an email. it may take a few minutes.
