  1. Hello,

thank you I was confused because Hammer does indeed have reflect (which in most cases seems better than block) and I knew that hammer can create blasts in fields but I was having trouble seeing blast in shield.

I appreciate feedback but I would like to hear more people on the subject.  I will have to look at the cooldowns to see if shield has a quicker cooldown then hammer and if so that could make more sense.  I will try to see how blast is done with pistol / shield

  2. I see on several builds Quick Heal Scrapper is pistol and shield, I am just curious what advantage it gives over Hammer? I apologize just new to engineer and wanting to understand the weapon choice advantage and drawback.

  3. I am not what you would consider an experienced player.  I have only been playing since October of last year so about 5 months into the game.  I use them primarily to change stats on ascended and a few other minor purchases.  I can only say I have them in abundance.  I have over 1,500 and it's just been from playing the game.  I am in no form or fashion trying to collect them.  You get one every time you go through a level once you reach 80 and honestly going through the story, doing events, completing maps, doing fractals, dungeons, strikes for me it appears spirit shards rain from the sky.  I am guessing in the future I will need them for other purposes but I can't say acquiring spirit shards is a problem.

  4. Hello Fellow Engineers,

Some quick questions as I was going to start working on creating ascended gear for both PaM and HaM but then this latest development occurred and I am confused about it.  If our Mech is the source of the buffs that are spread to the party (for instance Alac) and no longer considers our gear, does concentration from our gear affect the buffs being generated by our Mech?  Has anyone noticed a change or are the buffs staying on as long as they were previously?  Just trying to understand if stacking concentration is as critical or not?

    Hello everyone,

I want to complain about the drop rate of the black lion chest's loot table. Today I opened 50 black lion chests and I did not get not even one uncommon item. They were all common drops.

I feel so scammed right now and  frustrated that I payed for black lion keys and I did not get any worthy item.

Is that a common issue? If that is the case then I guess it's not worth to actually waste money on these.

    Hello,

I hate that you had such poor luck with the boxes.  I am not sure if you were trying to get the Koi weapon skins, but there was apparently an issue where they were listed in the boxes but actually they are not obtained through the boxes.  In this case if that was what you were attempting to get you may have a leg to stand on in regards to a refund.

  6. Power Scrapper you can use a Berserker Hammer as well.  Power Scrapper is good too.  However always have a Berserker rifle on your Power Scrapper if you know you are going to be in a place where you need to be at range as well.

You mean the dude that traverse short distances of space at the speed of light while also being invisible?

Yeah surely no magic there. Very realistic.

As stated, Daredevil power build doesn't have invis.  The only thing you are talking about is the Steal function which is supposed to be a quick action.  You aren't turning invisible you are simply making a very quick dash to grab something off the target.  Again.  I gave power Daredevil which is more based on monk movements than magic.  Nit pick away.

  8. I have played fishing in several games.  Honestly there are only a few different ways to do it and still keep in a way that many people can play it and enjoy it.  The idea is not to make it a hard way to play but rather a rather relaxing way.  Stardew wasn't the first to do it but so many non MMO players as well as MMO players and got to enjoy fishing there so they feel that Stardew was the one that all games feel they need to copy.

Simply they were adding fishing because other MMO's had it and it was probably something they overlooked and it helps keep gamers playing and staying in the game.  Meaning when you have done all the things in the game so you aren't sure what to do... FISH!

It allows you to talk to guildes while still doing stuff.  I have fished in almost any game I have played so I can say it wasn't simply a copy.  Almost all fishing in MMO's and even games where fishing isn't the main aspect all feel similar in nature.

  9. Stardew Valley wasn't the first to have fishing and won't be the last.  Showing my age but UO had fishing in it and it was a very popular aspect of the game and so many games added it to their mix.  Not even saying UO was the first but they had it before WoW was created.

A bunch of players find the mini game of Fishing to be relaxing and usually it can be fairly profitable.

  10. Yes they are absolutely optional.  Just because something isn't mandatory doesn't mean it isn't predatory.

The fact they hide skins behind gambling simply shows that it's more profitable for them to do so instead of in the store and also means that they know it's predatory.

Honestly the statue vendor isn't great because they rarely update it and they absolutely do not cycle all the things they offer in the loot boxes.  If they would at least do that it would mitigate some of the predatory nature.

  11. Here is the thing about loot boxes.  Even when you get something "good" out of it, that doesn't even mean it was a success to you.  Unlike real gambling you are attempting to "win" one thing:   More money than you put down.  In Loot boxes "winning" is getting something more than the common item but then again it might not be the item you desire.  True winning is getting the item you desired but it's not only locked behind getting past the first layer issue of common items that weren't desired, you then need to get through the pool of other items that are an option of "winning"

It really is one of the worst type of gambling system you have in a game.

  12. Starting the game in October of this year I completely get the feeling of being overwhelmed by the mastery system both first at core trying to get the masteries filled I had a hard time getting points (until I discovered fractals).  Honestly in core the experience needed for unlocks really wasn't a problem because so much counted toward it.

Reaching HoT there were so many differences that can lead to being overwhelmed.  The verticality, difficulty of navigating/exploring the map, mob density, and a variety of smaller things.

What helped was that there are kind people that do hero point and mastery point runs through HoT.  This was a god send.  I truly appreciate everyone that helps groups of new players get around especially when they don't have mounts like others.

Unfortunately HoT the experience is the drag here.  Especially as the Mastery line goes deeper it takes forever for you to get it finished.

My tip to anyone trying to get masteries done in HoT and hero points is to go into LFG and you will find these Trains going fairly frequently.

  13. Everyone hopes that there is something good could happen with gambling on things.  Unfortunately it's simply a gamble no matter what.

The only thing I would hope Anet would do is put things on a vendor with whatever number of statues so people can at least work toward it.  I know they do "Some" but most are not put on there.  This means it is very unfair.

I wish they would be honest enough to put everything on Statue vendors that were only allowed to be found in the loot boxes so things would be fair.  They could have several Statue vendors to do this.  Instead they keep it low and make it sure that it's hard to get things so there for taking advantage of gambling to a hard level.

  14. It's a loot box gamble.  Everytime is simply a gamble.  Some people get something great the first time opening.  You go opening and get nothing.  It's simply the mechanics working.  People announcing good things only encourages people to hope they will get something good.  The unfortunate thing is that you don't hear all the people that got crap from the loot boxes.  If you did you would see what a poor chance you have on getting anything decent.
