  1. There’s just needs to be changes exclusively to PvE and maybe so that’s probably your main concern, I absolutely beg you try it in WvW for a couple days then come back here. it is a perfectly balanced tempo trait that seriously doesn’t affect core abilities that drastically. It opens a window for speeding up and diversifying play styles to differentiate from regular power builds. It pseudo-promotes build diversity to open windows for clutch plays with and is not just some spammable ability. So long as you have great pet management , skill and timing you benefit from it. man I’m literally repeating myself.. You’re opinions are slightly skewed because you’re under the impression it’s just a non stop spammable PVE trait. Please cut it out. All it needs is some proper tuning for crying out loud. and you have to realize how other builds have far broken mechanics that grant immunity for other professions tied to their core traits and there’s not much being done about them. Although I understand how similar cd reduc traits have been nerfed in the past. FF simply does not affect and won’t affect future core changes as much as you think, even in PvE. But let’s not talk about PvE. this is a unique and carefully designed mechanic which I’m sure the devs took a lot of time to develop Untamed as a spec that can pump out CC. SOME kind of cd reduction trait or be it a baseline change that allows certain CDs to become readily for use adds a unique utility to ranger that feels rewarding with Untamed when ONLY when played correctly in a pvp setting. It requires proper execution and awareness, that ALMOST can help Ranger compete with Warrior CC chains. Which is infinitely more broken than Untamed even with the current FF. It allows Ranger to execute similar cc chains except it can pump out decent conditions as well. The ability to do that It’s what separates it from other profs, despite it not being the main trait choice, it does offer a tempo increase which is necessary to implement with Untamed in someway shape or form. The idea of FF was a step in the right direction and you’re not aware of it. please acknowledge that I am aware it needs to be tuned and will be tuned. So either they keep it and tune it down a bit or create a condition damage applying trait for modifier or something that adds a boost unleashed weapon skills in place of it. Let’s not refer to how it functions in PvE, we are aware it overperforms in that arena.
  2. Enough about PvE it’s completely irrelevant to the title of my post and I won’t mention it again. You obviously aren’t reading, this entire post is about Untamed in WvW. … I personally run FF as it provides better options to be more fluid and smooth with running hybrid builds in WvW period. It’s no major difference but it is noticeable if you actually know how to play with extreme prowess. It takes an absolute high level of timing of skill to be able to utilize it which makes it all the more rewarding to use. While other GM traits are perfectly viable as well if not even better for beginners who truly don’t understand Untamed’s current potential. Hence why FF does not make the kitten specialization.
  3. I’m honestly sick and tired of how some of you actually believe that FF is what makes “Untamed”.. Please take some time to develop some level of awareness and common sense as you read this. Try it out in WvW and you’ll soon realize you’re better off running Restorative Strikes. When it comes to WvW , FF has niche uses which only shines on rare occasions. PLEASE understand that I am simply trying to propose that FF should still remain in the Untamed but perhaps change how it works in each game mode or allow it to affect only certain cooldowns. I sure hope you’re capable of reading. It simply does not define Untamed ranger in WvW. The heal trait and damage traits are way stronger. FF only provides access to be able to make hybrid builds work more efficiently. It’s really not that strong, it just gives you more options. So please stop referring to how strong it is in PvE. It’s extremely easy to CC bots not players.
  4. I get you. Despite all the points you are making. All I am saying is that the currentl Untamed build I created is very viable and quite capable of fighting off multiple opponents (just like many other specs can), offers a unique set of mechanics to other professions and can be very rewarding yet the most punishing out of the ranger specs. Everyone is allowed to have fun in their own ways. You seriously would have to try to play it and succeed with it to understand me, sadly.
  5. I do not run ArcDPS, but I'll still point out that the build really only has higher spike damage versus single opponents caught in traps. Viper does a lot of damage but remains very squishy. What I am saying is that I have legitimately discovered a method for Untamed to be utilized as mostly a CC specialization that particularly focuses on locking down opponents while applying various cover conditions and remaining hard to track down. It is severely underrated even if it doesn't parse any DPS meters. My playstyle legitimately feels like an Untamed ACTUALLY should play and even Paper Roll could attest to it as I have roamed with him and he was surprised how well I played it when he initially said the build was bad before seeing it in action. In Zerg content it holds it's own and is capable of providing support through turtle pet and F3 Ambush, etc. Again, its not particularly a high damage build but it can be devastating in the right hands is what I'm saying. The changes I propose are pretty much the only missing pieces to the puzzle. Finally, FF is again the only trait that helps everything synergize better currently, but I am aware and already prepared even if it gets removed, but necessary changes must come to Untamed before that is done.
  6. My Untamed build runs Hammer and Shortbow and it's incredibly unique (almost laughable) until people witness it in action, I would actually have to show how it plays in order for people to really understand me. I'm quite possibly the first OR part of a few who has figured out how to make a Untamed Hybrid Condition Trapper Hammer/Shortbow Bruiser somewhat VIABLE vs Zergs/Roaming. I'm stamping it as the Predatoria Untamed Build.. It's incredibly challenging to play , yet incredibly rewarding if played to an absolute T. It makes Untamed legitimately feel like you are playing something named "Untamed". The purpose for me to share it only goes to show that the devs are headed in the right direction when it comes to a fun spec to play. Fervent Force helps the build become passively fluid despite it's very unforgiving playstyle. I'm aware FF can't always affect ALL CDs forever. Again,All I ask is that if it absolutely needs to be changed perhaps allow it to effect only certain cooldowns.
  7. Correct me if I'm wrong but it's almost like you're saying Untamed doesn't bring any new value for condition or power builds so therefore it makes no sense to even play Untamed (So why does it even exist).. since SB and Druid already serve a dominant purpose with either condi or power? May as well jus kitten delete it eh? Untamed is more viable even with hammer/shortbow in group play than you may think (trust me on this) allowing for switches between melee/ranged on demand. I have actually found it's conditions to perform extremely well in both zergs and roaming, but TAKE NOTE that it has an extremely higher skill cap than any condition builds I've played or that you may have ever encountered. OBVIOUSLY it has more benefits in smaller scale roaming. NO QUESTION. But jusr because it isn't predominant doesn't make it any less viable than Druid or SB. Read this very carefully. As of right now I'll say this, Untamed is quite possibly stronger than either Druid or Soulbeast FOR condition based builds, as ridiculous as that may sound. It's just that not many people have it figured out AT ALL. It's extremely unsuspecting and surprising because the current meta promotes only power based builds. SB is Strongest with power Druid is Strongest at healing and conditions Untamed ????? Great Hybrid Option with great CC and conditions There always has to be someone who is trying to promote some kind of build diversity in regards to "tunnel visioning" on condition based builds.
  8. My proposal to make the changes to "Toxic Shot" on Short bow is actually very valid, which even MukLuk pointed out on one of his Youtube videos awhile back and many people who ACTUALLY tested it in live gameplay can attest to how clunky it can be. Although it's not impossible to benefit from it. It is very necessary to review the way the Toxic Shot ability functions since it is very clunky and very difficult to make use out of it because of how short the casting window is. It's on a 15 s cooldown with nearly a 2 second casting window. Which simply becomes unreliable when you factor in all the evade mechanics, reflects, and blocks. It needs to function the same way as ALL the other short bow skills i.e( SB 4 and 5) which automatically lock on targets at least to make more efficient use out of it with proper chaining and timing of skills. It simply makes absolute sense to address that and there shouldn't be any arguments against it. Just see it for yourself. This may actually give an opportunity for the devs to also review several of the other weapons Unleashed Abilities since some of the other ones already work excellently because they have been given some attention. It'll help balance out build diversity with Untamed as opposed to just everyone running the same old power builds. My proposal is to give that same love to shortbow as it actually can make rangers quite capable of making impactful plays in extended group play. Please refer back to how I said the changes to Rev shortbow 3 (Sevenshot) was updated to lock on targets and this is somewha similar to that on Untamed Shortbow. Again, SB 4 and 5 already locks on targets.. SB 2 shoots in a cone. At the very least they could address "Toxic Shot" to either shoot in a cone or lock on a target. The problem is that everyone is under the impression Untamed ONLY works for power builds and so they decide to run your usual Longbow and GS build. There always has to be someone to voice out certain issues in relation to non meta builds to promote diversity to specializations and that's exactly what I'm doing. But I do agree with Lan that Fervent Force could be changed to reduce only certain cooldowns or something of similar effect. But to remove it entirely would be detrimental to the class fantasy of Untamed, trust me man. The only valid substitute for it would be some kind of condition-applying related trait. As it would make an incredible amount of sense to have a selection from Condi, Sustain, and Direct power damage between the GM traits. But Fervent Force CAN still be kept, just perhaps apply it's effects differently instead of to all skills.
  9. Particularly when unleashing with a short bow, it has an ability called “Toxic Shot” , in the heat of battle it is nearly impossible to land simply because there is about a 2 second window to cast it (and easy to evade). Similar to how they made the changes to “Sevenshot” from Renegade shortbow to lock onto targets is a change that is needed with Untamed. It would make condi variants more viable.
  10. Before they do what you suggested they should address the casting windows and ability to target enemy players as well. And also give some more attention to the pet system.. Because it’s becoming clear that FF is becoming a concern when in reality it’s a step in the right direction with the current state of Untamed.
  11. All I have to say is FF luckily isn’t shared with Allie’s because then it would be a real problem.. it offers an interesting high skill high reward cap to Untamed that makes it feel more “predatorial” as it perfectly goes in conjunction with the class fantasy. Believe me when I say predatorial.. you’d only understand once you see me hop on people out of leopard form to gank them and then stealth away using trap runes. I may just be the first actual Untamed Trapper and I might just be one of the FEW people playing Untamed exactly how it was designed to be played in WvW. It offers something similar to deadeye which is just interesting for Ranger to have such predatory capabilities aside from having a kitten GS and a LB. It allows non meta builds to function properly so long as a player has high level of prowess. While FF is incredibly fun it can be quite punishing to play over the heal trait or damage trait since those offer more efficient usage. But it offers the ability to make fast paced high skill cap non meta builds more viable which isn’t just you’re average meta LB/GS ranger and it’s why it’s incredibly valuable. if it were to be removed there must be compensation to allow some level of fluidity to occurs with the spec. It shouldn’t be removed but worked on? Sure. Perhaps, make it so it doesn’t effect all equipped skills and rather certain skills instead or maybe just one random skill at a time. it requires high maintenance and high keyboard input compared to dead eye spamming stealth and infinitely kiting.. or Elementalists who can play with one hand yet spam Magnetic Auras to allies left and right, changing the tides of entire fights drastically, or even Warrior CC chains which are infinitely easier to achieve than with Untamed. The entire ranger toolkits is simply not as impactful at all and FF allows high skilled players create more diverse builds. Which is well deserved and necessary.
  12. I value your opinion.. I say “extremely necessary” in that it welcome a new challenging playstyle that requires a higher level of game awareness and pet awareness which makes the player feel more engaged to playing “UNTAMED”unlike that in PvE. It’s unique and balanced. It’s high risk for a high reward for players who like to challenge themselves. Any coordinated guild group would melt an “Untamed blob” at Guinness world record speeds.. Soulbeast is way stronger for a “Ranger Zerg” Now, in the case of your hypothetical Untamed Zerg, I’d love to see that happen. (It never will) It’s really not as easy to play with FF in WvW as you think which is just purely ignorant of you for speculating that and basing opinions off of hypotheticals and not facts. There are so many factors against the use of FF, but that is part of the reason why Untamed is fun for me personally is seeing it shine in only SOME situations.. even though the heal or damage modifiers outperform FF drastically. I will literally run on sentence the kitten out of this until you get my point. Sorry. .
  13. That’s what I’m saying, it seems most people are so tilted by FF because of how it overperforms in their preferred game modes, yet don’t take into account that it brings a niche playstyle which requires an extremely high skill cap to achieve any value from it in another game mode. I mean really… I have been testing an interesting Condi Hammer build and FF is really not the strongest option but it offers an interesting playstyle that I found fun because of how challenging it is to run it. It actually isn’t that much of a game breaking trait in WvW.. So I demand you PvE guys wake up and at least give that trait the benefit of the doubt.. I don’t blame them though Its a PvE mindset I guess.. Call it “tunnel vision” for lack of a better phrase.
  14. Can we make this crystal clear? I feel like most people here are more concerned with how it behaves in PvE… I could understand it getting tuned down for that game mode only or at the very least make changes to it but not completely remove it. Again, I’m specifically referring to the use of FF in WvW. It’s perfectly fine as is and its really not as broken since most people seem to be referring how broken it is in PVE.. In WvW, FF only triggers in situations where an opponent doesn’t have stability, reflect, block, or evade an attack therefore it doesn’t always trigger. That’s 4 methods to counter it and not to mention most people run stun breaks. There are so many more ways that it can fail compared to the latter traits. therefore having the other 2 GM traits always is the better option. The healing trait is actually far more broken.. Try Sanctuary runes with it on… The damage modifiers with longbow is actually superior for longbow DPS. Have you actually tried it in WvW yet?? It’s really not broken.. Now let’s please stop talking about all the benchmark dps and cooldown spam because FF doesn’t define Untamed. It’s significantly easier to land disables in PvE than it is in WvW. So I hope we’re on the same page with that. FF actually helps Untamed keep up with wayyy broken specs which are 10x better with 10x less effort. And even then it still struggles.
  15. Particularly in WvW, I don’t believe it would hurt ranger to be honest. After testing, Having FF gives the Untamed access to a more rewarding smooth play style since it does have a higher skill cap. This one trait does not define Untamed but it does make it have a unique option since it requires sacrificing direct incoming healing through strike damage or outgoing damage modifiers. Both of which can be used for either bunker builds or ranged power damage builds and leave less windows for error than FF. This trait places Untamed on par with several other professions by offering it something worth having so long as the player understands what they’re doing. There are far more superior traits/utilities that define the other professions. Call them “brain dead” for lack of a better term.
