I am newer level 80 and have been doing some unranked pvp matches. They always seem to be such blowouts. My last one yesterday ended up 500 to 40. Am I going up against premade teams or something? I could of course be unlucky or so bad that I am bringing my team down too. Just curious as to how teams are created and matches are made. Thanks.

Ok I think I have fixed this problem. It has been a week with no disconnects doing the whole HoT story line including the super long boss fight at the end. I tried all of the suggested fixes in this thread and on the net with updated drivers etc. Finally it occurred to me to update the bios on my motherboard. Like the majority of people these days my LAN is part of my motherboard and I don't have a separate card. Since I did that I have not had a single disconnect. It makes sense when you think about it. It is just something people do so rarely. Anyway, TLDR, update your motherboard bios, worked for me. Also going to do a separate post, maybe this will get a sticky or something. Enjoying the game quite a bit and recently bought the 3 expansions. I bought the game on original launch and have played it on and off since then, but not very much. It stuck this time. My big problem is that I am randomly disconnecting after a cinematic or during a mission. Last night I was doing the really long level 80 one and disconnected after a lengthy boss fight and quite a bit of time in the mission, very frustrating! I have googled and tried all the remedies people have suggested, having a youtube video playing the background, setting streaming to max, hitting keys during cinematic, deleting your log in info etc. I have also tried doing a fresh install of the game. This seems to be a really old problem that has been an issue for years. Anyone find a fix for this other than what I mentioned? Any dev care to comment? Loving the game, but this really stinks. I bought and played GW2 at launch but only got to high 20s on an Engineer and then quit. Over the years I have tried coming back but it never stuck. My highest level toon is a 35 Ranger but I haven't played in years, so I think I am going to start a new character. Think I have it narrowed down to Thief or Mesmer. It seems like you level super fast compared to what I remember. Due to my history of losing interest, I'd like to give the game a good try before buying the expansions. Other than perhaps some additional storage space and level 80 boosts, can I hold off until 80 to buy them, or will I be missing out on a lot content along the way? I would love to get into this game and I am hoping this time it clicks. I have always recognized the quality and I hear the community is really good these days. Would also welcome any tips people would care to give. Have been watching a lot of youtube videos but could always use good insight. Thanks much!
