  1. Hey Sumpwa, not a bad idea. I believe your suggestion is similar to picking the PRIVATE instance option in some events like in EotN. Keep the good ideas coming folks, let's make it happen. 🦾
  2. Amazing idea Astralporing, I will add it immediately to the above points. Thank you! 😸
  3. Warriors of Tyria, I write this forum to simply suggest possible improvements on the level of control a Squad Commander can have. My purpose is to enlighten you all with my suggestions and improve them even further with the opinion of the mass. Let me know in the comment section if my suggestions are good or bad and what we can do to further improve them. Once I collect all the data, I plan to find out how to send the feedback notes to the Great Devs of Anet. πŸ€“ Without further ado, here's what I would enhance: Squad Commander Improvement 1. More Commander options in the squad control menu. The following are the important ones: a. prevent all players or simply normal ranks from clicking the cancel icon by accident when it appears during invites; b. more options in general for the Commander; c. decide what control/power you want your LTs to have; d. an option to help increase/decrease the duration of "The Broadcast to Squad", or simply have it up indefinitely on the screen so people can refer to it; e. have an option that can simply prevent all squad members or normal ranks from using the squad chat. Will help Commander to pass on important information; f. have an option to simply permit all players to simply invite anyone instead of it being limited to LTs; g. option to demote misbehaving players (spamming chat, etc...) (into bad kitten rankπŸ™€). Demotion prevent them from using squad chat. Last resort before you kick them; h. option to put a colored specific tag on LTs. I understand we have the SHIFT + ALT + Number option, but it's too long. With 50 players running around, it's a bit hectic; and i. cmdr to place Mini-Tags on his LTs or sub-groups Cmdrs. Mini-Tags should vary between shapes, letters, and numbers to enable more complex tactics. Color option for each. 2. Improve the Squad Message Board: a. increase character limit by at least 3 times the current limit. Will help make information clearer to new players. Current amount is way too short; b. the Squad Message Board should pop somewhere on the screen when players join. This will permit players to clearly see info. Many don't read the chat; c. if you decide to go with point b (from above), remove it from appearing in the chat. This will prevent chat from being swarmed with content; d. if all the above points are met, we can improve it even further by having font/size options when writing information; and e. when writing on the Message Board, if you click anywhere else by accident, it closes and resets. Have it save what you write automatically. 3. Have a chat option screen box for the Commander and his LTs to use only. Have it be an option the Cmdr can activate in the option menu. Have it be distinct from the normal chat box and can be dragged anywhere on screen. Will improve control when making teams. 4. Have all messages sent by the Commander be a certain color (maybe red or black). Will make it much easier for people to focus on the Cmdr. 5. This is more of an LFG improvement, but have a check box in LFG menu that can help the Cmdr or anyone to mass invite people and to send mass whisper messages to multiple people at the same time. I will write another forum for feedbacks on the LFG subject...eventually. Best way to define the current LFG is --->🀒 6. Give the Commander the power to drag and move player icons in any order. This way, even when having multiple LTs in the same team, the Cmdr can place the Team Leader as the first icon. 7. Once players join the squad, moving to the Cmdrs instance, should be the first option on top. Also, to make it even faster, enable players to double click the Cmdrs icon to simply teleport to their map and instance. 8. Commander icon should be lighter or have a thicker border. 9. Have a pop up box appear that allows Cmdr to Accept/Decline squad merging when sent. This pretty much concludes what I have to say on that matter. I understand that this might not be a priority for the GW2 Devs. However, improving the design and functionality of the Cmdr menu, can be one of the cheapest ways to help retain certain players to GW2 while simultaneously promote the game in ways that you might not have currently foreseen. Also, this could help revitalize some old/dead content by making it easier to control and recruit players in these events. Furthermore, this will exponentially help the Cmdr control his or her squad without disturbance from the bad kittens.πŸ˜ΎπŸ™€πŸ˜Ή If funding is an issue, I have a few ways around that: OPTION 1: Sell in the TP different Commander Tag designs. OPTION 2: Could sell in the TP a "Commander Boost" consumable item. All improvements mentioned above can be limited to players that buy these items. (I don't recommend this option, simply due to the annoyance of always having all the good options be a P2P type thing. Especially when people have already paid for the game.) OPTION 3: Improving the Cmdr menu, can help promote and retain players to GW2 in ways that making new expansions, for revenue, could never do. So cost effective on the long run. (this is my sales pitch option) 😏 In summary: - This will help the Cmdr maintain and improve exponentially his or her level of control. - Will help the Cmdr recruit more players in old or dead contents, such as Twisted Marionette, by making it easier. - Players will have a much better understanding of META events or any event, in general, due to information being visually much clearer and appealing - Will help the game stay true to it's name: "Guild" Wars. By displaying how the functionality of making a Guilds/Squads/Party is beyond any game design. Thank you for your time and I look forward in reading some of your replies on further improving this idea, Ego,
