Thanks for all the replies!! I thought I had to glide to gain the XP!!

Sorry if this is answered elsewhere but I couldn't find it. I'm on the 3rd stage of gliding "Lean Techniques" and I can't figure out how to gain experience to train it. I've tried the W and S keys for forward and backward but they don't seem to have any effect. Any help is appreciated.
