  1. Guys just raise a ticket as they asked people to do.

Things might make it "slightly" better but there is no fix on our end.

The more tickets they get the more likely they are to fix it as they ask people questions so they can find the problem

Even while the CS Team is super busy, we would like to ask you to submit a ticket to them, so that they can gather more information and help you out, too! You should use "technical support" as the reason or the "bucket" for your ticket, to best assign it.

They may well ask you to send in a report or a log, and that would be very helpful because it helps identify common issues and parse those that are distinctive to separate individuals and then provide assistance in either area, as they are able to.

    Thanks so much!

Since the issue began only after the Windows update from April 2018, and since we've yet to see an influx of tickets or bug reports regarding this issue, I think that suggests that this is more than likely a compatibility issue from Windows or one of its programs, less so from the game

I sent a ticket in a couple of days ago...No response as of yet.

Took them ages to reply to me but hopefully the more people to send a ticket will help. :+1:

They asked me to send a log but as I said to them it is pointless for one person to do it, they should be asking all affected to do it...

If you Right Click on your GW2 Shortcut and go to Properties > Compatibility Tab > Change settings for all users > Check Disable Fullscreen Optimizations > Click Okay.

I don't know if it helps with any Discord Audio issues.

Didn't do a thing for me

Windows 10 April update (build 1803)

Glitch happens on every map change except when entering and exiting home instances.

Also initial display of character selection screen after login is much longer than before (approximately ten seconds compared to a couple before).

Yup this is it. Every loading screen gets this and I agree the initial character screen is much longer than before.

Only got it right after April Windows 10 update.

Lots of people have this now so maybe you can acknowledge this problem Abet

My thread has been merged with a totally different issue of flashing once per login. All the people that were replying to mine said they had the same which was flashing to desktop on ALL loading screens only since the April windows 10 update.

The post it has been merged with is flashing to desktop once per login back from in January. Not the same thing at all...Please can you unmerge from this unrelated January thread.

Also surely this is a bug as so many people replied with the same problem. This is also before the April win 10 update is pushed to all users.

@slayerking.3581 said:Found the problem, It's the new focus assist crap they have put into the new winblows update. If you go to settings>system>focus assist and turn it all off, it does it much quicker now instead of sitting there for 10 seconds or so on the desktop.

Disabling the focus assistant didn't do a thing for me. Still flashes to the desktop on loading screens

Yeah it does but nowhere near as long as it was before.

I had already disabled it before making this thread lol.

I had flickering issues on Windows 10 since RTM.You can also try the compatibility flag to use or not use the optimized backbuffer formats, it was added with Fall Creators Update, but it's not really helpful for everyone, like me. Right-click shortcut > Compatibility > Disable fullscreen optimizations

@Heather.4823 said:Windowed fullscreen I get a lot less FPS though

Compatiblity mode didn’t work unfortunately. I’ll try disabling full screen optimisations in the morning and update back :)

Tried disabling the full screen optimisations didn't fix it unfortunately.

The desktop flashing issue has been happening for me for a long time. I don't worry about it because the game seems to work properly.

Yeah the 3 second flickering only when I click play has happened for like a year but that's no issue to me which I why I didn't mention it as it's not the same issue I am talking about here. That issue is just the screen flickering for about 3 seconds on load of the game only. Nothing to do with this.

The issue I am talking about here is since the April update that I see the desktop on all loading screens..

I'm sorry, I thought your OS updated from whatever you used before to Windows 10. A misunderstanding.

Since you work in IT, I don't dare ask further questions. ;) Hope someone can help you. Good luck.

Nah it updated just to the latest win 10 is all :)

Yeah seen old posts with similar problem but couldn’t find anyone that fixed it lol

    Thanks for replying though :)

Computers don't make decisions like that. ;)
    You
decided to leave automatic updates activated instead of updating at your own convenience.

As for your issue, sorry, I don't use Windows 10. Maybe you can share what processes are running in the background? Have you added the GW2 game folder to your antivirus' behavior shield's list of exceptions?

Its windows 10 so you dont update at convience really, it’s update now or disable in services. Plus that doesn’t help my problem....

Ive checked and even disabled some processes, disabled antivius and firewall and it doesnt help. Reinstalled graphics driver etc.

I work in IT for a living so ive tried all the basic stuff.

Just wondered if anyone had similar and actually fixed it
