  1. Hi there, I am hoping to find a friendly group or some other likeminded people who would be interested in trying the Kaineng Strike Mission in order to unlock the Siege Turtle mount. I am in a very small (about 6 people) guild of friends, and three of us are now at this stage. We're pretty casual in but we have many years of raiding experience together in other games, particularly World of Warcraft and Lord of the Rings Online, so we're quite familiar with those kinds of mechanics. Our group composition would be a Mechanist Engi with an alacrity build, a Virtuoso Mesmer (probably - has a number of alts), and myself. My usual build is vanilla ranger, but I have put together a boon druid build to try for group content. Gear on everyone will be at least full exotic, matching runesets, etc. Best times for us would be Monday or Friday evening, Saturday during the day, or any time on Sundays, but we can be flexible as needed. If anyone is interested in joining us, or knows of a friendly guild or Discord that would take us along, please let me know. Thank you!
  2. I am currently trying but I don't have 'permission' to read them, apparently, so I'm working out how. I do not have the Windows debug tools software, and I still haven't found out how to get administrator permission to even view the file properly. The error message on the BSOD is 'MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION', that's all I know so far. I also tried moving the GW2 install to my non-SSD drive and running from there, and hit the same crash. That may or may not be relevant but I'm very much not a programmer and I'm reaching the limits of what I know how to do or try. At a certain point, fixing the problem is going to require more effort and frustration than it's worth to me.
  3. Hi, So, over the past several months I have been experiencing issues with GW2 which are severely impacting my ability to play. At seemingly random intervals, the game will crash and take my whole PC with it. Video freezes or goes to grey screen, audio freezes (both game and outside audio eg music), with a 'frozen sound' tone, and eventually I get the Blue Screen of Death 'Your PC encountered an error' message from Windows, necessitating a hard reboot. I cannot find any pattern to the crashes in terms of what I'm doing in game: it happens when I'm alone and when I'm in a group; it can happen shortly after logging in or not for an hour or more; it can happen in a big meta event, idling in Lion's Arch, in a story instance, etc. etc. So far, I have tried: Running the repair tool multiple times Full uninstall and reinstall Updating video drivers Optimising video settings according to Geforce Experience Reducing graphics settings to low Launching/playing in Administrator mode Closing other programs running in the background (eg Firefox, Spotify) Monitoring PC/GPU temperatures (all well within normal ranges) Searching through Windows Event Monitor logs (nothing shows up except that the PC booted/shut down unexpectedly; no useful information as to why) I am not having the issue with any other games or software I have played in the last several months, including World of Warcraft, Heroes of the Storm, various Steam and other games, graphics and publishing programs, etc. Nothing but GW2 causes the issue. It is now to the point that I don't see how I can continue to play and regret having pre-purchased (my fault, I know.) I have been trying to do the 'Return to' Achievements but I've been stuck on the 'Forearmed is Forewarned' mission for almost a month because I have crashed out of it over half a dozen times now. It feels utterly pointless to keep trying only to have wasted anything from 15 minutes to an hour and end up back at the start - at one point it crashed as my character was doing the rallying speech at the very end, and I got no credit. If anyone has any ideas of what to do, I'd be very grateful, because I'm at a loss and feeling like my GW2 time is up instead of looking forward to EoD. Thanks.
