So you wait until the timer is over and then use the waypoint to get on the platform?

Or hover with SkyScale next to Aurene while not landing at the platform during the timer?

I was on the platform for a bit.  Got buffs and stuff while timer was going.  Couldn't see Aurene anywhere.  But got on Skyscale and went off platform at the last 3-5 seconds and was off the platform when the event ended.

Still weird and probably needs to be fixed.

I was having this same issue - I figured it out. You can't go on the platform before the event starts. You have to go on the platform after the event starts and then I got the achievement! 😄

That is weird, but it was kind of along the lines of what I was thinking was happening.  Guess I will have to try this sometime if it is not addressed soon.  Thank you for sharing  your solution.

  3. I will agree most of the collections are quite involved compared to most we have seen before.  I really enjoyed them when I finally got to finish most of them though.  Very nice little story bits.

There is a couple easy achievements hidden behind the guise of harder stuff.  At least I found the Echovald's Haunted Court, Altar, and Perch all easily soloable and the events you have to manually start yourself, so they are often ready.  These are actually needed to be completed for another collection and I had no idea they were so easy till I got to that point.

If you like fishing you could save up the Legendary fish needed for A Strange Diet too (fish list is on the wiki).  Once its not bugged at least.

Building a Better bot is also not too involved.  Nothing too hard locked in it.

  4. I got first DE win on March 6th.  Finished collections on the 7th.

First win was super close.  Like mere seconds.  Was condi dps this run.  But condi felt much better than my previous attempt with power.   Commanders were really good at discerning when to switch sides, using text calls, etc.

Did another run last night (as heal/boon tempest) on the 10th and honestly not sure on the timer.   Was less than a minute I think. Seemed like considerably less tail time then I'd seen in previous attempts.   Used Discord to listen to Commander.  But not everyone was in there.

  5. I was wondering that.  Cause everyone usually bails to the sides after the central escort is done.  But I was wondering if I missed something afterwards.  I'll have to try it again and wait and see.

Only reason I questioned it is because its listed after the last crystal event.  So was wondering if it was an order.

  6. For some reason I can never get credit for the task "Meet Aurene at the top of Harvest Temple" even though I've done the meta multiple times and won some.  Don't think I've ever seen an event pop up telling me to go the temple after the crystal part if there is supposed to be one.  Maybe I am going up there too quickly after finishing the previous event?

Looking it up on GW2 Efficiency seems at least some people have finished it so it has worked at some point or I'm doing something wrong.

  7. I got this achievement quite a few days ago.  Not sure when it reset.  But I noticed it was today.

I tried unequipping my Tier 10 core and re-equipping but it didn't unlock again.

Edit: Nvm, brain broke I guess.  There is achievement for Tier 3 core and one for Tier 3 module.

  8. Honestly my experience my has been mostly positive.  Love the maps and most of the metas (despite bugginess).  Lots of interesting collection achievements to work on, Fishing,, etc.  I enjoyed the story for what it was and thought it was an good ending for the dragons.

I will agree with a lot of peoples observation of Kaineng is a bit "empty."  If only for the fact its so vast and everything is spread out so much.

Only really sour spot I have is the turtle really.   Initially I thought it was the DE meta that was the bad part.  But I honestly do enjoy the DE actual boss fight.  But its not even that, its just the acquisition of the turtle is meh and seems to be pretty meh in comparison to all the other mounts we have.  But I was expecting that honestly since I don't duo with friends or anything often to make use of said mount (though I do want the mastery  for extra mount health).

  9. Had a pretty good group going and my internet decided to crap on me in the Strike.  Hopefully more people will be unlocking turtles soon to group up for the strike.  It's not terrible, but it does feel a bit weird to do instanced content for a open world only item.

To me it kinda feels like if they asked you to do a PvE dungeon or Fractal to unlock your Warclaw.  😛 But eh.

There are usually some patient, chill people willing to teach strikes or bring newcomers.  But I wouldn't be surprised a lot of them are stuck on the first barrier right now.

  10. I honestly enjoy this fight and I like the mechanics.  It is very long and drawn out with the pres and then the fight.  The length + chance of failure is utterly devastating though.  First time in a long time in this game that I feel like I actually wasted my time doing something.  Even launch Dragon Stand wasn't that bad to me (even with the crashing).

The saddest part for me is I know the mechanics and understand them and can do them appropriately.  But you can never guarantee everyone else in there is going to.  Heck, look at the first fist pound she does and the amount of downs from that alone (though its honestly easy to forget something like that initial attack because you have potential hour of pre events to get to that spot).

Past couple attempts I've seen her just flying across the arena like 5 -6 times in a row too though.

Edit:  As of March 6th I did finally get a awesome PUG bringing their A game with some good commanders and we beat it (it was a close one)!

  11. I will say it does look like there is a lot of texture lost in some of the "skin color" hairstyles.  If you use a lighter skin color it all gets quite washed out, you lose any definition, and can't really make it look good.  Reminds me of using flesh-colored alien tendrils in their current form (which is kinda cool, but I think they need to keep their planty look).

I think both male and female got some really good looking hairstyles.  But they do leave some room for improvement imo.

Personally changed my Sylvari hair after like 6 years to the new bun with the orchid pin.  One of the few without a lot of problems.  I did notice some of the dyes were barely different in how they showed up.  The lack of any night glow isn't a big deal to me, but I think it could help it since it kind of disappears at night alongside the rest of your Sylvari lighting up.   After all these years we got used to our hairstyles having glow.

Definitely feel like there is bugs in some of the new hairs/faces across the board on almost all races.  I do think as far as Sylvari go, could probably benefit from just adding alternates of the same styles,  "Fixed" and the current version.  Obvious clipping fixed across the board hopefully.  Similar to how the older vine hairstyle has the version with and without flowers.
