  1. Sometimes I think it's the developers fault for not being more proactive in their game. But we really should be blaming the player base.

Most of the people who come into WvW are a liability.  They rally enemies and eat up all rez abilities in your group immediately.  They barrage all their projectiles into reflects and literally kill their own teammates.

This is the reason people stack with other competent players in the first place.

Just glad it will be springtime soon so I can enjoy cycling again.

Objectives do not matter in WvW and the match doesn't end a nd kick you out to a lobby  if you ignore them.

I hear that but if groups decide they want to play to win, defending waypoints and the extra score boost from upgraded objectives is the strategy of the game mode.  "Chasing" is one of the biggest faults of a fighting force.

Not to say skilled roamers can't keep everything greased.  But they also can play to win in a similar way if they so choose.  Resetting fights is not the ultimate strategy in roaming gameplay, probably in duels tho if that's all your on for.

This is due to them balancing pvp around standing on a node so having 6 instant teleports isn't imbalanced if it loses you the game.

    In WvW it's unplayable.

Same for WvW.  You can't cap anything if your running away.

I suppose duelist's might get mad about ooc, if someone wants to run away in WvW you shouldn't really chase them.  At least if your playing "correctly"

All those leaders quit, no one stepped up to replace them. Sad that the self proclaimed leaderless server is actually the most organized.

Not very organized.  Not hard to play EB looking for fights.

Your right everyone else quits tho.  It only takes one fight to see how many bots there are following the tag and just walking into traffic to feed bags.

  5. Read the first page a little.. the funny parts like how reaper is the "hard counter" lol..

Try a good glass theif that knows how to interrupt your heals.. core, DD, DE whatever..

    Reaper heheh..

My anecdotal evidence is there are fewer 40+ blobs (ally and enemy) across the time zones I play.  Commanders running open tags are fewer, because the remaining pugs aren't as talented....and so on.

Week is so bad it's like their matchmaking has actually gotten worse.  No roamers, no tags, no hidden tags.  Just like one stacked server and a bunch of nothing.

No, yes, I have no idea what you mean by the last part. WvW consist of the same players this week as the last week.

I just don't see the point after 4-5 betas there has been no changes or improvements.

Their just barely able to keep guilds from getting split up and people still complaining about it.

I guess it's some backend data collecting when do we get to the team building.

Your right it's still just people playing, some the same, lotta new names and very green.

It's really random and the people who joined a "guild" made up just to use the stopgap beta tab have kinda worked around the whole point of the tests.

Without alliances it's not really worth the change.

  8. Assuming the alliance aspect is still not part of these beta tests?  When do we get to the part with organization?

Isn't the main point of all this so smaller guilds can organize together into an alliance to match the size of a 500/500?  This is like the fourth or fifth beta now what has even changed?

Putting pugs and PvE's together in a slightly more organized way dosen't do much for the matches.

It was tried before; the result was server stacking and player burnout.

I think they actually got it right by the third tournament.  Gaining the rewards through the competitive achievements tab so each person got them on their own.

Maybe the gold, silver, and bronze dolyak finishers were still server based but they were just a few charges for fun.

Sieges help them to hold both the spawns with very less man power. So they can go into bls to defend. why is that not a valid strategy? Sieges are part of the game too.

It might seem unfair for you but Mag justification for this is, it serves you right running around in 50 man unkillable minstrel boon balls killing pugs. If that is fair then this is fair as well.

If it wasn't a stacking issue i would agree with you.  Anyone sticking to the boon ball would probably see it that way.  But if you roam or just play the map you see the actual numbers.  Number or guilds.. number of roamers.  Some linkups are populated and others have been left empty like an old mining town.

I played on mag too some and when it was a true roamer server staying in the T3 - T4 range the fights were much better IMO.  Getting linked with AR was questionable.  Just shows the need for a new matchup system.

T1 actually kinda decent this week, don't even think the issue is so much mag but mostly SoS and their spotty gameplay, their fights offerings aren't great and we all know how they stay in T1

I have been part of Mag cloud since I started wvw. I am now part of the AR 'cloud' if you can call it that 🙂 . Any server will spawn camp if they don't have better content.

The objective of the game is winning. Everyone tries to play to their advantage. One of the ways Mag has figured to win PPT is to take your keep during the dead timezone between SEA and NA prime and spawn camp you until na prime. Because if they don't, you hide from them in the bls. Spawn camping is pretty boring but threads like these make it almost worth it. To all the people who say there are other exits etc., it doesn't work like that. Most good players log off if they are getting spawn camped and are outnumbered. What is left is the casuals who try to get participation for the week. They keep rallybotting until the rest of the good players log off as well if they don't get good content. You never get critical mass to take back your stuff, until a guild group logs in, because people see the state of affairs and log off in 5 minutes or go pve. That is the right thing to do as well in that situation. The few rare times Mag itself has been spawn camped, that is their response as well. They just log off to play other games or alts or go pve. Or get on your teef/ranger/dh and play the pew pew game in spawn try to score a kill with a pull or a snipe. Trust me no better way to hone your stunbreak reflex 🙂 There are kills to be had, some always over push. Don't complain about spawn camping -  you get participation, you have the spawn advantage, you don't have to go look for content. Just wait for critical mass before attempting to take back your keep and don't feed.

To people who are saying that Mag is coming into bls as well, that seems to be true of late. My guess is that the whole alliancing stuff kinda left the 'cloud' players, server moms and roamers in other servers without a cause to fight for their home servers and made them consolidate in Mag giving it more coverage.

You forgot to mention the 4+ ballistas at spawn and 2-3 trebs inside keep.  That you think it has anything to do with strategy and not the obvious numbers game that it is says everything.

Most commanders looking for fights could care less about objectives and choose not to camp a dozen no-ranks cuz as you say it's boring.

You will always see a drop in numbers when a team is outnumbered, with no tag, and a dozen no-ranks feeding.  Has nothing to do with spawn camping that's just a lame thing that happens with no population balance

Mag wasn't really any different than any other server with one exception; they were extremely toxic on the forums in the official match-up threads

Their memes and vid's were hilarious but anet had to mess that up too

I am on AR which is currently linked with Mag. WvW has been horrible, EB is always queued because Mag players like to spawn camp other servers and upgrade their keeps. This link can't end soon enough.

Just left AR myself man it's boring when the playerbase all stacks.  Not much going on in the fights department.. T2 was kinda OK at certain times...  *Yawn*

lol yeah a little hard to get on a tag when that tag is dumb enough to jump with their 20 into a boon ball of 40, then they sit in the middle of them as if they had a chance.

Who really needs to l2p and not rallybot? 9/10 it's that type of commander/guild, who can't even be bothered with the basics if positioning and instead relay on the same kitten as the blob, boon spam to carry them through. That's why boon spam is unhealthy, it doesn't actually teach anyone in it to play how you're meant to play, avoid as much damage as you can, not dance around in it with superior numbers with stability, protection, resolution, resistance, aegis spam.

Now pardon me while I wait on my interrupt boon strip chrono on their latest nerf of null field, that totally had nothing to do with the meta I'm sure. 🙄

I read that as more of a complaint with the lowest common denominator and not so much about boonshareing.

Most of the blobs are just a form of pirate ship with said chronos doing double pulls and double gravity wells.

Very frustrating watching people just walk into it and get insta'd for sure.  Can't blame everything on boon tho.

one necro per group themselves cause they just use overwhelming numbers

So strips do work or not?  Yeah they just play the numbers game that has nothing do do with the current meta.  Just press the advantage of stacked numbers.

Any guild can do it, any group could fill a squad if they want but it's not "cool" to do big fights.

Still just a matter of L2P, get on tag, don't rallybot IMO

  16. If you with a decent group they would tell you to counter reflect/boon bunker with boon strip and not playing a pew-pew ranger.. try something that can push and then push with the tag..

No need to say it's unbeatable if your a solo on a dead empty server that has nothing to do with the "meta"
