    Hello everyone,
I have loved this game for years but now I only launch de game to check if they have added an option to reduce the impact of skins on my experience.
For years now the game added a ton of new visual but to keep the players appealed developers added more bright / flashy / enormous skins which in the end break the faithfulness of the game.
I understand most people want to grind skins, but I think there is also a lot of people who want to play a visual consistent game.

The ideal solution would be to have an option which grant every player (even including yourself) to have the standard armor and weapon (the one you can buy at the merchant) in good quality of course. And I think you should apply the same logic to gliders and mount.
I know there is already a way to counter skins with very low graphics, but playing in potato mode is not helping players to enjoy the game (and for stupid reasons you will still lag from abusively colorful backpacks)

One great strength of GW2 is the random interaction between players, and we automatically feel closer to people who use the same tools as you to defeat the evil monsters. It instantly break the game consistency when I see a guys shooting unicorns with his bow or when another mount a spectral/rainbow raptor.
I deeply want to play with random guys and focus on how they play rather than on what they look. I heard in previous discussion that people want to show how hard they farmed or how much they spent but... if you want to force people who simply don't like skins, this would simply make them have a worst experience, why would anyone want that ?

In the end I don't really expect much support from other users, I guess most of the forum users are people who enjoy the game as it is now, I just needed to get this out of my mind because I want to give a chance for this game to be as nice as it was on day one.

Thank you for reading and have a nice game

If you’re referring to Black Lion Trading Company gem store skins, all items are technically developed by their in-house designers and sold by Evon Gnashblade and are thus canon.  So, they can’t ruin your immersion if they’re created in game universe. 😉

This is a total privacy violation! Unless we consent, our character should show up as the default PvP character model named "Player." How dare you look at my armour?! And anyone who read my name should be banned immediately!

And don't get me started on boons and conditions! My conditions are a private matter that are to be kept only between me and my healer!!!

Looking at your conditions (medical history) is a HIPAA violation. Lol

  3. Let’s not forget the big content drought we had after LW season 2 before HoT came out and after HoT as well.
Season 2 finished in January of 2015 and HoT didn’t come out until October of 2015.    Then season 3 didn’t come out for another 9 months in July 2016. Then, season 3 ends in July 2017 and we have PoF right after in September.  I would consider LW season 1 and 2 to be on a smaller scale as well compared to the other seasons.
Would I like high quality expansions? Yes. I’m just saying the circumstances of its release were different than the other expansions.

ive played gw2 since the beta days before gw2 came out  and 1st off I'm used to some instances of gated progress since the hart of thrones days

but this release is a bit crazy for it

so far its been opening cutscene then
your gated to do events around the map

    then new story part
then your gated by having 150 of the maps currency to get a scroll (i know its not much i know)

then new story part and then.....
more do events around the map

    why?
one is manageable and gets players to explore the map and do things they wanna do but this is a bit extreme

it just slows down the lore and story for people like me that dont have that much time these days to do the story and then get blocked by oh now do this before anything

i hope this isnt the way its gonna be from now on

over then that i like SoTo alot

I don’t know about you, but I had lots of congealed screams left over from last patch with Inner Nayos.  And I didn’t even use them. I found out you could buy the scroll in WvW with Notary Heroics. So I used those. The entire story, including map events, maybe took me 2 hours.  I wanted more really.

I don't particularly care for Aurene, in fact I've grown pretty tired of the dragon theme. So I'm glad that's over with now. But hey, more power to you if you want more Aurene merch. Doesn't bother me in the slightest. Just don't expect me to get excited over it 😉

I guess the Lunar New Year of the Dragon is the final nail in the coffin for you, then.   But I guess there’s always Dragon Bash.

  6. I just wanted to point out that some bosses have proximity tank. So you can use toughness on those and not worry as the boss will attack the closest person to them either during the fight or at the start. Some examples are Old Lion’s Court, and Qadim 1.  And the first person who enters the room at Mathias is the target of his projectile attack.  And there are others as well.

An item that replaces all of your character's combat voicelines with Aurene yelling "This magic, it's so wild!"

All speed-related comments changed to, “Get to the prism!”

So those of us who crafted a 7th legendary rune in anticipation of the additional progress towards the legendary relic are SOL?

    Or, to put it differently...

ANet: Hey players, if you do the thing, you'll get some additional rewards
Player: Okay great, I'll do the thing!
ANet: LOL just kidding, no additional rewards

Well you’re not sol. You have a 7th rune for your aquatic helmet. Alteast it’s still being used by something.

  9. I noticed that, when I get possessed and have to go towards the light after getting teleported, my participation drops by 10%. It has something to do with going near the golems to get protection in their green circle. But maybe that’s what’s going on.  Maybe it’s a punishment for temporarily joining enemy forces and working against Mosaic Wrath. Not sure.

Sorry to be sour , but omg how snowflake is that .... you literally give them pop guns , wood swords ... we are sssssoooooooooo evil.... ginving them old socks (who probably stinks) , shirts fulls of holes , and a skinny pant is better than a fun toy .... it's this kind of behavior who lead to the cancel culture , nooo the world is not full of pink poneys pooping rainbows who smell cherrys ....

It's called second degree joke , when someone say a lot of ppl died because they were mining in a sugar mine because they felt on powdery sugar and fall to their own grave,  you are the kind of person who cry because it's horrible or you chuckle and say to yourself  "pfff hahaha sugar mines ..."

Some ppl are so sensible it's almost hilarous , ready to be offended in 3 ..2...1 , go !

Actually, they’re called sugar mills. Sugarcane is a plant, so idk who mines that in the ground. Also, slave labor was used to work on those and many, many people died there as operating a sugar mill is very dangerous. So…  doesn’t sound very funny to me.

If you’re talking about some magical land where sugar is a rock and it’s being mined, sure, okay, I guess. But I think it’s important to be cognizant of how things relate to real life. After all, fictional things are thought up by real people who live in our very real world and are influenced by it and convey that in their creations.

  11. Haven’t you ever seen The Nutcracker?  They give the girls dolls and the boys toy guns as Christmas gifts.  If anything, they should let the girls have guns and the boys have dolls too.

By the way, The Nutcracker first came out in 1954 and the main female role gets a nutcracker as a toy, which can come to life and fight giant rats with a sword. So…  idk things have always been a bit dangerous.
