  1. Actually there was some kind of change. No idea what it meant though.

Updated the properties of moving objects, such as rapids logs, to reduce rapids-related catastrophes.

I only do that level if I need to, specifically because I never liked jumping across the logs and gators. So I haven't played that level much this year. From what little I have played it, I didn't notice any difference with the logs.

You only get to launch on Steam once, and we want to make sure we do it right. Over the coming months we’ll be wrapping up work on the Steam integration, cleaning up some aspects of the early game experience, and ensuring that the game and the studio are operationally ready for a new platform launch. We’re also working on getting DirectX11 ready to exit beta and making it the default graphics setting for new users.

Not too far off I imagine.

Actually, I am using Reversal. Is it really that simple? As for kiting, doesn't that require ranged weaponry?

I'm not even good with Reversal. I just use it because it came with the e-spec, and I like using the skills the spec came with.

I assume there's some exponent or coefficient that's lower for the Willbender/Guardian when it comes to vitality scaling. My vitality is about 175 less on my Willbender than my Bladesworn, yet my Bladesworn has about 8000 more health. The Bladesworn also seems to take a hit better, but that may be because I'm using the defense tree.

It's not a "coefficient". Guardian has a much lower base health than warrior. With base health + 1,000 vitality at level 80, guardian has around 11,645 HP while warrior has around 19,221. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Health#Mechanics Warrior and necromancer have the highest base health, while guardian, thief, and elementalist have the lowest. The rest of the professions are in the middle.

Vitality adds to the max health by a fixed amount, not a percentage. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Vitality

Each attribute point put into vitality increases the maximum health of the character by ten hitpoints.

If you have a RX 5000 series card you can also use RSR ... if you are using dx9(since gw2 dx11 doesn't currently support full screen exclusive) 😕

Not available yet. I believe AMD's official statement was sometime in first quarter of 2022.

But, if you scroll down and look at the footnotes: https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/radeon-super-resolution

it says: "As of January 2022, Radeon Super Resolution is compatible with Radeon RX 5000 series graphics and newer and works with games that support exclusive full-screen mode. AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 22.1.3 or newer is required."

That means 3rd driver release for Jan. 2022, and we just had the second release a few days ago (22.1.2). So probably sometime in the next week or so.

To echo statements, DX11 for GW2 still doesn't operate in exclusive full-screen mode, even with all the updates to it since the beta was released.

You can exchange 250 Baubles for 1 Bauble Bubble.

The Devs have explained that Baubles can not be placed into the Wallet, as they are used as currency in the instance, and in the instance are in their own wallet.

Not just currency for SAB instances. They're also used as ammo for the slingshot and bombs.

  6. I was using DX11 before the patch. Due to some minor graphical issues I decided to switch back to DX9, then exit the game. When I launched it I ended up with the same issue as everybody else here. Aside from the minor graphical issues, the game was running fine with DX11, even after the patch. I've found in the past when using DX11, if I end up with some graphical issues, the game will eventually crash. Happened during Halloween event when I was just running through Lion's Arch toward a carving pumpkin.

Same issue no being able to use Windows task manager to shut the game down. (The game in task manager was marked as not responding.)

But, I already knew an easy trick to solve that problem. When you bring up Windows task manager, press the up/down arrow keys on your keyboard to highlight GW2, then press the delete (Del) key on the keyboard. The game will instantly shut down and you gain control of your PC again. If pressing the arrow keys doesn't do anything for task manager, press the Tab key. You should then be able to use the arrows keys to highlight the game in task manager.

Edit: I did launch the game a second time and got to the character select screen. I opened the game options here and selected the best performance preset in the graphics options when the game suddenly crashed. (I was going to select best performance, then best appearance to make sure the graphics are OK, then adjust settings the way I like them.)

  7. I bought it the other day. Dang chair is a whole lot bigger in game than it looks in the preview window (my character is like, 8 feet above the ground sitting in it). I thought it was going to be kinda small, like the Night Watch Stool. Worth it, even without a green glow as "advertised". 😊

Hi guys, thanks for your answers!

I had been playing quite a bit as I have 2 level-80 characters. And yes I'm trying to sell from the inventory screen, but also from the Black Lion menus (O).

YES, that was the problem, thanks a lot! I was going crazy. Indeed my first 2 bags are invisible and any items in those bags are invisible to the Black Lion trading system. Moving the items to any "normal" bag did the trick, I'm now able to sell them normally. And I suspect the issue with the "Deposit all materials" feature is also related to my orbs of ectoplasm being in my invisible bags.

Problems solved. Thanks a lot for your input!

    Cheers

    -- eukerion

Correct. That's actually the purpose of invisible bags: to make sure you don't accidentally sell items or deposit materials you want to keep in your character's inventory.

Also note: if you click the compact button to sort your inventory, things in invisible bags will not move.

  9. Probably just a background lighting effect added by the artist so you can see the chair in the gem store image. Without the green you wouldn't know what it looked like unless you previewed it in the gem store or hero panel. The image in the gem store would just look like a black blob.

Hmm looks like I have to upgrade components in order to get win 11. Well there goes 600 bucks, seriously MS TPM really?  A lot of people wont be able to upgrade check here... https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-11#pchealthcheck

I just thought of something win 11 has higher requirements than GW2 as a whole game lol

You don't actually need to buy a physical TPM module. In your motherboard bios you have firmware TPM.

For AMD it's called fTPM Switch. For Intel it's called PTT. This qualifies for Windows 11 as I have a Ryzen system with fTPM enabled, along with secure boot, and Windows update said my PC fully meets the requirements to upgrade, so I did and am using Win 11 right now.

Microsoft never really mentioned it, which caused a lot of confusion, and scalpers to buy up all the TPM modules to jack up the prices, only for people to eventually realize you don't need to buy one. LOL

I know for AMD Agesa 1.2.0.3 patch C, fTPM Switch is enabled by default. No idea how Intel handles it.

Is there any chance of an official High Resolution Texture Pack being released by the developers?
In the event that DX11 support and/or multithread support comes to the game, running this on my 70" 4K home theater system would be sweet, but with low resolution textures, not so much.

    Client Performance Optimization

We’ve heard you loud and clear—Guild Wars 2 needs better frame rates. We agree. We’re actively working on upgrading our engine to DirectX 11, and we expect to be able to roll it out in an opt-in beta later this year. An important note is that the upgrade to DX11 itself isn’t a magical fix for frame rates on its own. Some players may not notice a difference at all. However, upgrading to DX11 opens a lot of doors for improving performance—CPU multithreading for instance. It also paves the way for some potential graphics upgrades down the road.

We’re investing in our infrastructure, engine, and graphics because we’re looking to the future. This is a long-term effort.

I'd say there's a good chance as you can see here they mentioned being able to upgrade the graphics with DX11. 😀

    Hello all,

Does anyone know how to fix the above mentioned problem?

Any time I run GW2 from the Radeon Software menu, the repair client will start. See below:

    https://i.imgur.com/NilPncG.png

Below you can see the path used to access the game:

    https://i.imgur.com/MCJ0nuL.png

When starting the game anywhere else, the client starts as it should.

Any insights would be appreciate, thank you!

I know exactly what you mean. I've had it happen to me before.

Created a desktop shortcut and used the -repair command line on it. Even though Adrenaline 2020 is targeting the GW2 exe in the instillation folder it still launches the game with the command line.

Deleting the desktop shortcut with the command line doesn't fix it. Adrenaline 2020 still launches the game with the command line even though no command lines are being used anymore.

Manually removing the game from Adrenaline 2020 then re-adding it, pointing it to the GW2 exe in the instillation folder, doesn't fix it either.

No matter what, Adrenaline 2020 will launch the game with the command line even though you're not using it anymore.

Solution I found that actually fixes the issue: use display driver uninstaller to wipe out Adrenaline 2020 and graphics drivers, then reinstall it.

  13. If an account bound item, like an outfit, is available in the gem shop and black lion chests at the same time, you're suppose to get 2 black lion chest keys if a chest rolls for the item after you had already bought it from the gem shop first. There was a bug a long time ago where it would give you a duplicate of the item from a chest after you had already bought it from the gem shop. This actually happened to me a long time ago once. I bought the item from the gem shop then wound up with a duplicate from a black lion chest. Customer support mailed me the 2 keys I was suppose to get from the chest.

This could be what your guild mates are referring to. It's the only thing I can think of where customer support would mail a player something that they were suppose to get from a black lion chest.

@Aaralyna.3104 The forums are meant to be read by anybody when not logged in. F2P accounts wouldn't have any issues unless logged in and that is if there are any restrictions on forum access for them.

Yes exactly. But they also will have this issue. The only thing is that F2P cannot have forum accounts as its the restriction for not having purchased the game so these players cannot login nor post. Which means they cannot access things like reading patch notes in English atm.

    Good point.

Forums are still bugged for me. I'm sure it will be fixed soon. Hopefully.

  15. Same thing just happened to me on PC. While logged out the forums says no categories found and the "Latest Arenanet Posts" at the top show nothing. Everything seems fine while logged in.

I even tried the Windows 10 Edge browser and it's the same issue.

Edit: Can confirm. After logging out I switched to other languages and it seemed fine but the EN isn't working.

  16. Nope. You would have to make a new account for an Ultimate version.https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/articles/115010688287-Guild-Wars-2-Path-of-Fire-FAQ

Q: If I purchased the Standard Edition of Path of Fire, can I upgrade to Deluxe or Ultimate edition?A: You can purchase the digital Deluxe Edition upgrade through the Black Lion Trading Company (the in-game store) using gems purchased in the game. The Ultimate Edition of Path of Fire, on the other hand, must be purchased as a complete edition; the Standard and Deluxe Editions cannot be upgraded to the Ultimate Edition.

(Note: it's the same situation for HoT)

The only difference between the deluxe and ultimate is ultimate gives 4,000 gems for basically half price.

  17. A dev explained it on Reddit.https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/e5mqr8/capes_and_backpacks_in_general_would_look_better/f9nnn5u/?context=1000

Capes are one of the most difficult things we've ever had to implement, for so many complicated reasons. Backpacks are similarly irritating. One of the many factors here is body scaling and armor. There is a single backpack model which has to work whether you're fat, skinny, wearing a skin tight suit, or huge, bulky, spiky armor. If the cape is fitted snug to a skinny, tight suit wearing character, it will be completely inside the body of a chonker in giant armor. There's more to it than that, but hopefully that starts to give you a better idea.

I am one of the creators of backpacks (not capes) and I care deeply about the game and the people who play it. I take great pride in my art and I want it to be the best it can be for everyone. Unfortunately, game development is a series of compromises and this is the best possible solution. It's almost never as simple as it seems.

There is no concrete information about this yet
, but logically one would be able to pull equipment from a shared slot as long as that item was in it to be equipped.

Current equipment systems recognize equippables from shared slots; there is no reason to believe this will change.

You cannot equip the same item to multiple characters at the same time. (But you can equip identical items)

Yes there is. Dev posts on Reddit almost a month ago.

While build templates can be linked, equipment templates cannot,
since they rely on actual items
    .

Unfortunately, we weren't able to get a good solution for sharing equipment templates between characters, because we didn't want players to accidentally break equipment templates on one character by removing a piece of equipment on another.

You're talking about template transferring, the transition or copying of one gear template to another character. He and I are talking about templates on different characters referencing the same item, if the item were to be made available to both, which IS possible and HAS NOT been addressed.

They did address it, as I pointed out above: they couldn't find a solution to being able to transfer gear templates between characters. I'm sure if they find a way later on without breaking things they'll do it.

But you have to take into consideration: you would probably still need to manually transfer the gear between characters and have it in your inventory for it to load into the template slots. You can't just reference gear equipped on another character. What you're suggesting would be to basically duplicate gear across characters.
