Then there are awful maps like Queensdale...
You are entitled to say you don't like a particular map, but there's absolutely nothing objectively awful about Queensdale. I do Queensdale map completion on every single key runner (human common born ofc!) for a chance at a bonus key (and I often get one). There are no hearts or any other objectives that take very long, even on a low-level character.

Gift of Exploration is only needed for crafting legendaries. If you have only just started the game, there is no reason to rush through World completion. I've done it on 15 characters and quite enjoy it, but I never put myself under any time pressure. Some have taken weeks; some got distracted and took years. I think the record time for completion is measured in hours, but that's an experienced player who knows what to do.
On the plus side, it's a lot easier than it used to be. Mounts make a huge difference. Also, when we started you needed to complete all the WvW maps, which might mean waiting weeks to be assigned a different home border.- 6

so I do want to make races in gw2 more meaningful, valuable,...
Which unfortunately for you, is contrary to anet's design principles. THEY want race choice to be irrelevant so no-one feels they have to choose a particular race to get any sort of advantage. It's unlikely race in gw2 will ever be other than an aesthetic option, which is why adding further races is a low value proposition.

most of them will take several years of daily gathering with the most optimal tools to make up for the amount of gold you spent on them
Fortunately, I've visited my home instance most days for the last 12 years, so that's not an issue for me 🙂

Norn home instance is the best. It's just a simple circuit, then pop upstairs for the last few chests and use the bank (cooking station). But I use the others regularly too, except the Grove; that's a nightmare to navigate and find anything.

I, for one, will not play a GW3.

And worth stressing that you don't need any Agony Resistance to do the first 20 Fractal levels.

With one exception, my characters are in places I don't want them to leave. Otherwise I forget where I wanted to keep playing them.
That's why Mistlock Sanctuary is my one indispensible QoL item. Any of my 15 mains (I don't do Alts!) can pop into Mistlock to visit crafting stations, the bank, the TP, vendors, whatever and then return from whence they came.

I do Fractals most weeks with a couple of friends. Because we are only three, we tend to stick with T1/T2, but in any case it is worth spending time at that level to learn the mechanics and accumulate AR. None of us are dedicated healers, though our engi can switch to a healing spec for specific bosses; sometimes it's just easier just to stay stacked and heal through a spike. But a healing spec doesn't have to consist of BIS runes etc; it might just be a matter of switching some traits or utilities.
Bottom line is you can jump into low level Fractals any time, you don't need to wait until you have specific gear. Knowing the mechanics is way more important and that comes with practice/experience.- 1

Can't you just hide your backpack?

I don't bother with leyline anomaly, but I do a daily Dragonstorm. The time taken is nearer to 10 minutes than 15, and in addition to the guaranteed 2 Gold, you get 6 memories of Aurene (worth 3 to 4 Gold) and regular (one or two per month) bonus drops (Frostsaw, gift of Aurene) plus a chance of getting a Pristine Dragon Eye (not happened for me though!)

Every HoT meta I've showed up to for the last couple of days has been fully populated, and checking LFG indicates many other instances are equally populated. So regardless of the rewards, the event has doubtlessly achieved its purpose.

It let me buy something that i can't use.. Why? If i'm only able to equip one of them due to being "Unique"
Ascended gear is account bound, meaning you can move it between characters. So you might buy several versions of a unique item and then distribute them across different characters. It would be very annoying if I could only buy an account bound item on specific characters.

There was a much bigger nerf on the Black Lion Mastery Coffers, which you could originally vendor for 1G, but now are only worth 20s.

Well that's pretty conclusive then. A small majority of GW2 forum users haven't quit GW2.

Bug Fix:
- Fixed an issue that prevented the following achievements from completing when the player accomplished their objectives:
- Reconquer the Crash Site Climb (Weekly)
- Reconquer the Hidden Depths (Weekly)
- Reconquer the Retrospective Runaround (Weekly)
- Revenge of the Vinewrath (Weekly)

It's not a limitation of the game or the servers. I have a budget gaming rig, but very good internet connectivity. I don't have any issues in Convergences or WvW, despite having my graphics settings all turned up, even when other members of my squad are complaining about skill lag. The inference from my anecdotal evidence is that the network is a critical component in these scenarios, but networks are complex beasts; even if your local connection is top notch, your routing through to AWS may be sub-optimal.

"They" spend time updating the wiki to make things easier and more accessible. "They" aren't the game devs, so what more do you expect them to do?

Let's ban smoking.
Already in the pipeline in the UK. Smoking is banned in enclosed workplaces/public places and there's plans to steadily increase the minimum age to buy cigarettes so that the next generation will never be allowed to purchase.

You know all those entries in the wiki were made by players just like you? They weren't given any inside knowledge; they just figured it out for themselves and shared their findings so that lazier people like me can get some hints when we're stuck.

Odd that gw2 hasnt added new races.

They didn't add new races yet becuase the effort outweighs any minor benefit. That's also the reason why they likely won't add them in future.
