I want a new item or ability to be added to the game to move bot players.Let me explain it this way. It's an in-game toy that can automatically teleport players a certain distance when the player doesn't react, or an item with a similar ability.Let's say I saw a bot gamer in WvW, I could teleport him to his death and we could get rid of him.

How would you distinguish a bot from someone who is either legitimately afk or who simply doesn't want to reply to you?
Let Anet police the game for you and either ignore the "bots" or report them for Anet's possible action.

  2. It's *highly* unlikely that this will happen; Anet has, as you yourself noted, made it very clear that they do not do this. If they were to make an exception for you, then they'd open up a floodgate of other programs wanting to be vetted as well, and they'd also have to invent some method of ascertaining that the version in use is the one they vetted, so that no nefarious code will be added at some later stage. It would be a nightmare for Anet.

yes t4 people know what they doing but if u run t3 or lower people dont care it seems andi always load into my own fractals before i make a grp but people still touch the console people should teach in t1 or in guilds that if u join fractals u never touch the console ever  only the LFG maker only should touch the console <--- this is pointed towards the random runs if it is a guild then that is a guild thing if other touch the consoles.

You seem to be under the misconception that just because you started the lfg you're somehow the party leader. Thing is, there's no party leader so anyone and everyone have equal rights.
When I run my daily fractals it's almost always completely random who goes to set the next fractal, and even though I usually form the group I'm just as happy that others run up and set the dial. So I'm actually very much against what you're saying; I think people should be encouraged to use the thingy.

If anything needs to be" taught" it's the usual order of fractals in a given tier. In t4 it's common practice (at least in EU) to go from highest to lowest, whereas I believe it's common to go from lowest ti highest in lower tiers. Once people know and understand this, it really doesn't matter who sets the dial.
Also, if someone should manage to select the wrong one, the team can always opt to return to mistlock and try again.

Hi. I'm very angry that when i do fractals with randoms, I get very angry when people touch the console in fractals. I wish Arena net could fix so when someone makes a group inside fractal, then the console is locked to the leader only of the group inside fractals because it is very annoying when u set the fractal mission then a random comes in change the fractal and do the mission, and they just leave..... only the leader of the group who made the group in looking for group should have only access to the fractal console nobody else should touch it.

If you consider yourself the "leader" of the party and want to make sure the fractal selection is the one you want, just wait with clicking until everyone else has clicked, then do a quick check that it's still the correct fractal before you click. That's a quick and easy circumvention.

This is a wholesome art/gameplay-relationship and not one of progression, guilds, ect. In other words, an objective take whilst disregarding the burdened bloat of RPG elements.

Magumma is the 1st -Wonder of the gameworld- to exist. At a time when people raved about the new zelda or God of War, I'd often wonder how they'd react to Magumma. Taking into account this area runs butter smooth on an MMORPG server with hundreds of players, the gameplay-art relationship is without compromise - almost as if the artist, game designer and software dev were the same person. Indicative of a team working in perfect unison to create something the likes which has still to this day not been challenged by any other gaming company.

That magic, however, seems to have been a one-off, one time thing. Perhaps this was the pre-covid, pre trump Era when Anet saw its team blossom to something beyond a buisness model, and into the realm of world leading game game/art development.

And I believe that since then, due to the turbulence of the world- as we see quality drop across the board (not just in gaming) so too will this golden age of Anet remain as such, a measurable period of excellence, creativity and teamwork the likes the world may never see again.

While still unmatched (not even close) by anyone else in the industry. Magumma stands tall even for Anet. Something they may try time and again to build off of, only to come to a realization that it may very well be the best work they ever did - a timeless creation.

It stands to reason then, that none of the dlc released since the has no where near the quality and ambition of Magumma. Players beg for drip fed content only to find more of the same mediocrity ever since crystal desert which - was not a bad expansion by any means from a GAMEPLAY perspective. But lacked tremendously in the area Magumma masterfully executed - The Art

Which Maguuma do you refer to? There's Maguuma Jungle, Maguuma Wastes, Heart of Maguuma, and Horn of Maguuma - all vastly different

This might actually be patched (but is still annoying) during the last part Peitha was also fighting (some) kryptis in the red zone but after finishing the fight Peitha did walk down to talk together with the general. But than again I was able to keep most mobs out of that red zone up the stairs and the rest I could just kill by sending in my mech to pick of the Kryptis one by one. It is ridiculous that the area is not more open though at least the area up the stairs should be open to fight is well (the palace of the general or whatever) for people without pets or ranged skills.

It's not been patched. I just now had it happen and had to restart the entire mission. I have previously successfully completed it on several characters so it's definitely not a hard bug.

@Rubi Bayer.8493 Any insights into this, Rubi?

AS OPPOSED TO what standing there shouting in map chat if anyone knows xyz mechanic and wants to join? lol right.... 2001 hello?

So here's a suggestion: put up an lfg in raids (either subgroup is fine) saying "w4 hotjoin, we go when we're full" or something, then let us know how it worked out. Feel free to pick other wing if you like 🙂

Thanks, this is very helpful as an alternative. I'm just going to lament going back to being one-shot by most stuff. Hopefully the VIT will be enough for that not to be the case. 👍

In group content you won't get oneshot as much as you think, as long as you know the encounter well enough to avoid the earth-shattering mistakes. The healers usually do an excellent job at keeping people alive - that is, after all, one of their main tasks 🙂

The people in this thread applying economic thought to Gem and Gold value is laughable.

Gems and Gold in GW2 are not a real commodity. They have no real value except for what Anet decide to make it because Gem's are just another form of DLC that you see in most games these days. To even imply that somehow there's a real market here that fluctuates independently (including "inflation" LOL) is absolute rubbish.

You are paying more Gold for Gems because Anet put the price up. Period, end of story.

I got news for you: NOTHING in this game is a real commodity; they're all virtual.

Now that that's out of the way, here's how Anet explained how gems work:
At launch, Anet set up a pool of gems - it's not known how many they were, but let's say 10M.
When people buy gems for RL money, this generates gems in their account, effectively increasing the number of gems existing in the game. When people buy things for gems, this removes gems from them, effectively lowering the amount of gems in the game.
When a player uses gems to buy gold, the gems are put in the pool of gems, thus lowering the value of gems in the pool.
When a player uses gold to buy gems, these are bought from the pool, thus increasing the value of the gems.

Now, could Anet add gems to the pool, thus lowering the cost of gems? Yes, of course they could, but they said they wouldn't and to the best of my knowledge, this hasn't happened.
Back at launch, you could buy gems for gold at about 1g/400gems or so, right now it's about 150+g/400gems and it's been a lot higher.

  11. Autoreply:
    "Dear <player name>.
Thank you for your report regarding another player's conduct. Yout report has been revieweved and appropriate action has been taken."

How's that? Or, they could just simply state that they will not discuss the outcome of a report with the reporter. Oh wait... 😄

I just wanted to give a heads up on this issue.

Even if you set yourself appear offline, turn off all chat types in the chat panel, and turn off speech bubbles, players can still simply right click your name and select Send Mail.

Sure, I can individually block each person who sends me hate. But that doesn't stop the first initial piece of fan-mail they decide to grace my inbox with. This needs to be addressed because the GW2 community is toxic and there's currently no way to completely avoid being abused by them.

Put a tickbox selection in the Mailbox that toggles in-coming player Mail on/off. The solution is that simple.

This seems like a really good idea. I would suggest a filtering option where you can turn mail on/off from friends list, guild members, and others.

This sounds obvious. But what I am really getting at is that GW2 is still rewarding people just because they purchased the game over a decade ago, even if they are not playing and have not played for the last 10 years. A new player who found the game recently has no hope to get to the same reward level as their friends who found the game earlier. Some of these rewards are locked behind the calendar year 2034 for them.

It is fun to get rewards for birthdays, and I am not saying people should not get birthday presents. But maybe these exclusive items should not be locked behind having done something in the long long ago so they can incentivize new players too.

An analogy: My brother was born 3 years before me, it's not fair that he got to do all the fun things 3 years before me.

I completed all tasks for "Secrets of the Obscure: Act 2", and I did not get a mastery point. I went back and checked in the hero tab, and all tasks are checked off.

The last task I needed was "Assist Mabon"

You get the mastery point after completing 8 out of the 12 listed achievements, so you will most likely have gotten that MP a while ago.

Hello, I have a question regarding on downloading Guild Wars 2 to another computer. Since I already have an expansion bought, if I downloaded and logged in to a new computer, does it still retain the game data that I have or I have to buy the expansion again for that new PC???????

    1 hour ago, Kanon.4857 said:

    Hiii there!

Expansions Packs are Account Bound, which means no matter how many times you switch your PC, if you use your login and password for Guild Wars 2 everything will be there in one place. So your items, progress etc. Everything will be there. The only thing that will be missing are screenshots since those are on your hard drive. Nothing to worry about with expansion, just login, download and play 🙂

To add to Kanon's post, some settings like graphics and sound and such are also reset since those are stored locally on your PC, so if you want to be sure you may want to screenshot (and transfer) those settings so you can replicate them easily.

So i pretty much exclusively do fractals. They just really appeal to me. I have been doing t3's when there's a group in queue on my main (soulbeast). But I have noticed that in t3 you pretty much start to need a healer. I know you can do them without one, which i definitely have, but having a healer makes them 10x easier and more enjoyable. Very often, there isn't one in groups and its a mess. I would also like to push into t4 at some point. Problem is, I have absolutely almost no knowledge of any classes or really how high level group play looks. I have never done strikes or raids, and dont even know what alacrity is or does. So I decided to make a healbrand because every source says it's the best healer for fractals. It also reminds me of my hpal main in wow. I see two versions on the one build guide I found on youtube. It talks about one that is very tanky and heals a lot, wearing Harrier's (sp?) gear. And then there's a celestial version that heals less, less tanky, but offers some dps. I wanted to get insight from experienced players. Not really looking at going into cm's, as this game is just a hobby, not so much my main game. Just what i do for a break. Do i need to go full heal/tank version in t4's? is the celestial version even viable? thanks in advance. also, any good suggestions for good content creators/build guides for this spec would be great

For pugging I definitely recommend harrier, since you can never be sure how the others will perform. A harrier hfb can keep groups alive even through some really bad mistakes. (Sometimes it won't be enough of course but that happens...)
Celestial is for sure viable but it's more likely to be useful in an experienced static group, where you're aiming at getting away from the healer eventually and play qfb instead.

No you don't need to match it. You for sure don't need to match player made constructs and limitation for content without enrage timers. Actually it would be better for the game if they completely disregarded those limitations.

If there is one funny thing in this community is how players min/max content without requirements or requirements that are like 20% of the ceiling. If all the dps checks from different games went to school together, gw2 dps checks would be the weak short guy every other dps check would laugh at and picked on.

Also talking about non raid non CM content. But thats not narrowing down. Thats the majority of instanced content in this game.

The community seems to want to have thisheal/boon combo in most instanced content, so I disagree with your statement here. If it should be a pre-req for auto-lfg to disregard the community's wishes for teambuilds then it's highly likely that the auto-lfg wouldn't be much used.

(I'm not arguing whether or not the team building block of heal/boon/3xdps is needed or not, I'm simply noting that this is what the community as a whole seems to want.)

Also, the narrowing I referred to was TheNurgle's - previously they have discussed team building as a whole, and that was met with a number of specialty roles in raids and CM strikes. Not they try by narrowing the proposition down to instanced group content except those.

  18. 4 hours ago, TheNurgle.4825 said:

What are those special roles for all normal strikes, dungeons, fractals and DRMs if you do not count healer, alac/quick provider and dps? Also in majority of games you can have "wrong" builds or bad players doing minimum dmg and that is not issue of auto LFG tool to fix. Auto LFG tool automate creating groups that's it.

Btw I played several games where they added auto LFG system in game and overal quality of groups went down at first due to influx of new players which never did instanced content. Later you had bigger pool of players actually doing instanced content.

Even when you narrow it down to the non-raid/non-CMstrike content, you're still faced with the fact that healers come in 2 main flavors, quick/heal or alac/heal and booners also come in 2 flavors, quick/dps or alac/dps. You have to match those such that a quick/heal gets together with an alac/dps and vice versa. Might not be "special role" but it's still a combo the players have defined, which automatically puts it out of the scope of any automated system Anet might be able to build.
There are also some special roles used mainly in fractal farming, but let's leave those aside for now 🙂

  19. Raptor: super fast on short bursts

Bunny, fast jumps though slightly lower than skyscale can

Skimmer: only mount that can glide above/under water

Jackal: Only way to take sand portals, plus fast on short bursts

Griffon: Reallyreallyreally fast flying but takes a bit of height to get started

Beetle: super fast on the ground but takes practice/luck to avoid obstacles

Warclaw: only mount usable in WvW

Siege turtle: siege damage, and can be used to taxi people

So no, no mounts are obsolete.

why is there not a LF q in this game. its a big part of why new players dont do the instance stuff in the game. most of the time LFG is selling stuff or they put exp. would u all hardcore people care if they added a Q for instances.

The idea of a queueing system comes up every now and then in the forum. When the experienced/hardcore/toxic (pick your favourite) people subject it to scrutiny there always pop up a number of questions which seem to make it not a very good idea. To this day I haven't really seen anyone come up with a good answer to (more or less) any of these questions. So the idea of a queueing system seems dead in the water.

Also, my experience with the lfg is vastly different; I only ever see a few people selling so it's mostly people seeking to make groups for their runs. Granted, a lot of these groups ask for experience - but that may be since they are in the "experienced" category, either in strikes or in raids category.

I don't think Anet have told us what will happen specifically but I assume it will be exactly the same as the daily and weekly tasks. When the time to complete them runs out they're removed, whether you've completed them or not, and if you have completed them but haven't claimed the reward that's removed as well.

I don't know if this is the point you were making but a lot of people recently have been trying to figure out ways to 'save' AA beyond the 1,300 cap (like keeping some tasks finished but unclaimed and hoping the chests will stay) and saying they need to do it because they have nothing to spend it on and more AA than they're allowed to hold onto at once. Or just complaining they have nothing to spend it on.

I agree it's not worth farming WV achievements to get the 30AA gold because there's faster wasys to farm gold, but if you've completed the achievements anyway and can't store the AA or use it for anything else you might as well use it to get gold because at that point it's basically free gold. But for some reason people keep saying they don't want to do that.

AA is ridiciluously easy to get; some days I can barely log in before I have all (or almost all) dailies done, and weeklies are usually done by tuesday, at least 6 or them. I don't foresee any problems cleaning out the vault after refresh either, so I'l happily buy the gold bags - again, it's not like it's a big effort to get the AA. But for those that don't feel it's worth it, I guess they can happily just ignore the dailies/weeklies/specials and go on with their daily life 🙂
