  1. Hello everyone from Arenanet and the Community, EoD Meta has been insanely difficult for most to complete and I have seen many angry comments in map chat. I have thought of a way to fix the EoD Meta and hopefully many of you will agree. THE PROPOSAL At the beginning there is the 3 way split and a series of events leading up to fight with Soo-Won. While doing these events there is a timer called "Night Falls." If you complete these events quick enough then you would get extra time during the Soo-Won fight. For every 5 min saved before "Night-Fall" you get 1 min added to the Soo-Won fight. Example: Last event ends Night Fall time at 10 min = 2 min of extra time added to the Soo-Won fight. This could easily be scaled to different times like 10 min saved=1 min extra Soo-Won fight. This would also be a easy fix for the developers and would also still have the challenging fight without changing any of mechanics. If you like my proposal for this please give it a like or comment so hopefully this can be reviewed/implemented by the Developers.
  2. I had liked your post, but gave up after read this 4th topic. What the kitten you trying to say there? "Stop focusing on competitiveness and make pvp casual"? It simply contradicted the rest of the post. Very few games ever had a primary focus on E-Sports and became the biggest E-Sports. If a developer has E-Sports in mind they lose focus on the actual game and lack on the creative abilities. Guild Wars 1 had 0 focus on E-Sports but the GvG became their primary E-Sports because it was fun not because they wanted it to become some sort of E-Sports phenomenon. You can't compare both since it was a totally different period. 15 years back then, you didn't have a lot of games with an " esport " objective and you didn't have that many games that could be played on the internet. Today, that's quite the opposite and most games can provide a competitive part. That being said, there are lot of similarities between games. Implementing GW1 features could be a risk considering people " seem " to appreciate having a cash shop , a casual competitive mode and a " top players " level. Sure it would attract veterans and GW1 players, but is that population big ? Considering Guild Wars 1 was the 2nd biggest selling MMO competing with the WoW release. I think there is a great chance it would boost sales and revive the dying PvP we see today. Its an easy port to get these game modes in the game and also can tie into the story already. Also your cash shop argument does not apply to making competitive PvP options. You do realize that GW1 had a cash shop?

  4. Like I said previously they don't exactly have to make the same style but make a updated version of these.
  5. I also want to note that I am not saying do exactly like Guild Wars 1. You can make things similar but updated or come up with something better.
  6. I am making this thread for the community and the hope that Anet fixes/improves the overall PvP in the game. I believe that Anet has ignored the majority of the communities complaints on PvP. When the game first launched everyone asked where is the GvG and even after the outcry Anet ignored the community. GvG was one of the biggest and most beloved PvP in Guild Wars 1. This game mode brought so many guilds together and allowed the community to watch the top guilds battle it out with the GvG replays. Once Anet opted to discontinue this game mode in Guild Wars 2 they lost a lot of player base from the original Guild Wars 1 community and dismissed the very name of the game "GUILD WARS." The other very popular PvP was Hall of Heroes. This game mode was a Ladder/King of the hill/Last man standing style of PvP. If you played on US server and won the Hall of Heroes then the server got "Favor of the Gods." It allowed everyone on the server to access the hardest dungeons such as FoW or Underworld to obtain the best armor in the game. The winners were announced to the whole server and and also got a chance to obtain some of the rarest items in the game. More people might play WvW if the server was rewarded for winning. Winning WvW holds 0 meaning and 0 rewards for the server. They have improved many personal rewards but have never addressed the server rewards that Hall of Heroes offered.Guild Wars 1 offered even more variety of competitive PvP like Random Arenas, Team Arenas, 1v1, and Alliance Battles. The game has been out 5 years and the PvP has been completely stale and shows little to no improvements coming in the future. My list of fixes:1.) Offer server wide rewards for WvW.2.) Bring back GvG. Honestly it has been over 5 years with tons of outcry. Why have you not done this yet?3.) More variety. Lets face it 2 PvP options get old.4.) Listen to your player base and stop trying to be the the next E-Sports. More focus on fun and less focus on E-Sports would improve the game. I am not here to bash Guild Wars 2. Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2 have been my primary game for over 10+ years. I am just offering constructive criticism in the hopes of improvement.
