  1. I just want power tempest to not suck.  Sword/Warhorn Air attunement abilities do so much lower damage then the fire abilities even though air is straight power with no condis and SHOULD be the better power element.  And overload air does abysmal damage even as full power.

I can confirm this build works amazingly. One thing it lacks that healers are usually expected to bring is stability, but at least Protect Me can be taken to mitigate that issue some. For total boon uptime it's much more useful to take marksmanship over skirmishing so pet swapping gives more might and permanent fury. Since the staff ambush will keep protection up permanently, I've been running Storm Spirit over Stone Spirit to add a lot of cc to the build.

Yeah thats how I've been running it.  Marksmanship + Nature magic.   With both pet swap traits, pet swapping keeps up fury and might easily. To be fair I guess you don't really need either storm spirit or stone spirit for fury or protection.  But I like the aegis from stone spirit.

  3. I've been using search and rescue as the 3rd utility slot to make ressing just that much better.  If only one person goes down I use search and rescue, if a bunch go down I use the elite spirit.  Seems to work great. Stone spirit + sun spirit and healing spring trap. I wish there was an option for a good main hand healing weapon to pair better with warhorn but unless main hand mace is randomly a healing weapon I'm just gonna stick to staff/staff. Its working very well so far.

  4. I'm not a theory crafter so I won't get into much detail but I've been messing around with staff/staff quickheal untamed.  Bascially build it just like druid (stats, item upgrades, monk relic) with all the buffs on pet swap using Marksmanship/Nature magic lines and spirit usage.  Weapon swap and on CD and use one untamed power swap ambush before every weapon swap for 2x staff ambush per swap.  I don't know how "meta" it is or isn't but it seems to heal and support perfectly fine in t4 fractals and raids so far.  Basically a quickheal option for rangers. Someone better than I can give a more in depth discussion about why it will or won't work in the end.

Edit: the staff ambush seems to do most of the heavy lifting.  Roughly 4k heal per ambush with being able to do back to back ambushes on weapon swap for roughly 8k healing every 10s or so on top of all the other buffs/heals going out.

Reread the part about "spread mechanics" again.  I hope you realize we're not talking about golem dps fights here. CA 5 and 1 pulse alacrity at the same rate with quickness, 4 is slightly faster and it's the most efficient to start without wasting your cc on 5.

OK I read it, sounds like your druid blows his CA when the group is spread and then doesn't have it up when they're stacked, ie skill issue.  Or the group is just bad at stacking in general, also skill issue.  Its extremely easy to overcap on alac now with heal druid.

  6. You're not supposed to spam 1.  CA 4 and 5 both pulse alac for a much higher value than spamming 1 could ever accomplish.  There isn't a single proficient heal druid that has had problems upkeeping alac since they buffed it last time.  This has to be for dps druid or someone just plain doing it wrong.

  7. The people linking to the third party app policy are hilarious.  The sheer amount of mental gymnastics you have to do to pretend like a huge portion of the gw2 population hasn't used arcdps for literal YEARS without issue and trying to pretend that arenanet just hasn't noticed yet and are going to figure it out suddenly ANY second now and ban everyone is hilarious.

  8. Is the Oni Boss supposed to be the big bad that drove the quaggan and the krait from the ocean?  I know there was all this mystery surrounding what it was that was driving the creatures out of the depths once it was discovered that it WASN'T the deep sea dragon (Soo Won). Then there were NPCs in New Kaineng that alluded to what the big bad could be since it couldn't have been Soo Won.  Then the first part of the new story was labeled "What lies beneath" which made some people believe it was going to explore what that big bad was.  But now since that story has wrapped up and it was just some demon feeding off negative emotion, it feels like that CAN'T POSSIBLY be what the big bad was that was almost as powerful as an elder dragon driving all the races out from the deep sea?  At least god I hope not.  Very anti climactic if it was.

  9. I could be wrong but haven't the last bunch of balance patches had preview notes like two weeks in advance usually?  Figured it would be the same this time considering this is supposed to be a much larger balance patch than usual.

  10. I too was hoping the splinters would reset today like antique summoning stones do.  That was we could just choose to wait longer and not have to buy the research notes splinter.  Guess its not.  This whole process of getting the alternate version is pretty terrible and the only reason I'm going to complete just ONE of the zhaitan versions is because I already purchased the other 3 splinters.  Def never doing another one though. Absolutely awful design choice.

Brothers, this man speaks the only acceptable truth.  The land spear/javelin must become a reality.  Only then will Rangers know the true path.
