  1. Can we just have a dev answering or just giving a sign that this post was not a bone threw at the barking dogs? If you are not reading this anymore just close the post, or at least give us some infos. "those who care about elementalist get in this thread", are we being heard tho devs?
  2. It is not about what you are interested in(only). The ele is not here ONLY for you.His point is that glass ele is weak. It has the lowest possible HP and the dmg is just not there. While we have power shatter mesmer (just giving an example) which has 3-4k more life in zerk gear (again light armor user) and still is capable of 1sec kills. Not to mention mesmer's mobility compared to ele + he got stealth. We have less health, less burst, less mobility, less utility and we have harder to execute combos and overall harder to play profession. Yes, we can heal a little more but does it matter when half of the builds there squeeze 20k+ bursts in 1 sec, while they are interrupting and stunning at the same time. And my point was not that ele is supposed to be only for me. My point, however, was that my interests and expectations are exactly as important as anyone else's. I'm presenting a different of both, since those who wrote before me seemed to be strongly set in their pvp views. Which is fine, of course. It's a valid consideration. But so is mine. Just like ele isn't only for me, it's not only for them either. I must say it's a bit disappointing I have to explain that. The point is, yes your interests and expectations are valid as everyone else! Everyone has given their suggestion, on the other hand looks like you are on your own crusade to convince everybody ele must be glassy and have fragile gameplay cause you like it like that. You are trying to be more influential than everybody else. Your statements are in contraddictions with your behaviour. You're really reading more in my words than I put into them. All I've said originally is that we have lowest base defences and therefore will always be glassier than everyone else. Implying equal other factors, obviously. Which is a mathematical fact. Aside from that, I'm merely pointing out pvp perspective isn't the only one. If you ask me, it shouldn't even be the main one, since this has always been a primarily pve game. But no matter, I'm willing to accept pvp balance perspective as equally important. You're still not happy? Sorry, that's as far as I go. If you choose to take issues with my stance, that's your own problem which you need to deal with on your own.Apparently i'm not the only one reading more in your words than you put into them. The fact that you keep commenting other ideas with sentences like "Meh, this sounds bad cause i don't like it" or "meh, this isn't good for the use i have in mind, i'd rather not see it happen" is a bit disrespectful towards other people opinions don't you think? Hell then i might start commenting every pve perspective post saying "well, i really don't like this change cause that wouldn't be the playstyle that fits me in pvp, so i would really don't like it if it happened" or something like that. Who am i to give myself so much importance, who am i representing? "I must say it's a bit disappointing i have to explain that". Ah and for your information, just in case you've been living under a rock, pve is always been the main focus of this game for a long time: there are much more players doing pve content than pvp players, mathematical fact.   4. That sounds a lot like homogenization to me. Pass. I prefer the straight dps buff. I like how fragile the gameplay is and I don't care it doesn't translate well in PvP. It should be possible in PvE, and it should be rewarded accordingly. Homogenization? yeah sure, we can get more dps buff and trait with damage modifier that gives absolutely nothing to the class, oh wait, that's what we already have! Let's get locked into water line in every build with every elite specialization because every other trait line is forcing you to pick water. Ele right now has "fragile" gameplay, and it has always been, but it's not rewarding, that's the whole point.

Talking from a PvP perspective The problem ele always had in PvP is the fact his stats doesn't allow the class to equip amulets without healing power and vitality because of his stats deficiency. And that causes another problem: if you buff damage and survivability, those buffs will only buff bunker/support builds, pushing ele into bunker roles with mender amulet even deeper. On top of that, water line is the only viable option for condi cleanse, because every other trait line is built to sinergize with the only good grandmaster trait in water line(cleansing water, also powerful aura is good, but you can't afford to loose condi cleanse for that, even with tempest traitline), and in every build we are locked into water traitline. Also, the stat deficiency does not allow you to play with an offensive amulet with melee weapons: you'll get only mediocre damage with no sustain.Imho the ele needs a stat rescaling and needs to rely less on healing power. Another problem are fire and earth traitline: they just can't keep up with the power creep: playing with those 2 trait lines is like playing with an unfinished build, they don't give you any relevant effect/buff. Air line is actually amazing (you have acces to weakness, superspeed and damage), but there is a problem with fresh air: it syngergizes too much with scepter! It synergize well with dagger autoattack too, but you can't play an offensive amulet as a melee cause of the stat deficiency as i said before. Just my two cents, will write more if something comes to my mind. Thanks devs for opening the thread and reading the comments, really appreciated!
