no ideas why the 3 donuts marked as confused, as you say diminishing returns are a thing.  Ultimately @Flatley.1620 things have a drop table and a drop rate %, the later of which is affected by modifiers including account level magic find and things like diminishing returns and buffs.  A lot of people get bogged down with confirmation bias and forget its simply probability and a calculation, and just because something has a 1/100 drop rate does not mean you will get it once every hundred drops.
