Raise the Banners Collection

I realize we need 3 different characters to unlock each collection, but do they need to be completed by those characters. I've been trying to collect the non-story specific items on an alt, bit nothing is dropping. Is this a bug, or working as intended? A tool-tip would be nice if that were the case.

The story related items need to be aquired on characters who have chosen the correct path at the start of the story

Thanks for the answer, but I was referring to drops from open world and bounties. I was trying to find out if those were also character specific.

I had to do the required bountied on the character that I had taken that story path with, doing the bounties on another character did not award the item.Similarly, Caffienaed skrit did not drop the item for other specialisations once I'd got the soulbeast one on my ranger, I had to do the next skritt on necro to get the necro one.

They are, did all bounties and the ones for Joko and Sunspear did not unlock on my Amnoon character, same with a chest item required for Joko did not get awarded on my Amnoon character. However, the Renown Heart items are purchasable on my Amnoon character for the other 2 banners.

It sure would be nice if that was clear in the collection description or somewhere. I've wasted several hours trying to do bounties and finding chests because I didn't know this little fact.
