edit capability not working?

Yes, my account is old enough that I used to be able to edit my posts. Now I can not though ... I have an edit option but the text is not editable.

I read one post where someone theorized this had to do with signatures. I am not sure if that is a red herring or not but either way it is a bug.

You can disable or hide signatures until the (Vanilla) forum creators fix the bug. A support request is already in to them from ArenaNet.

Thanks, strange they had not fixed it a long time ago since anet is not the only company using the software.

There is some flexibility with vanilla. The layout stuff is probably handled on a per deployment basis since not all of them will have the same sections and what not. In the case of these forums it is probably in https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/themes/guildwars/design/custom.css?v=1.1.0.59fa196e . What IS surprising is how long it takes to add a couple lines of CSS.
