Asura Lifespan

Hello all, I'm confused about the timeline with respect to the Asura Personal Storyline "Gadd's Last Gizmo". This chapter takes place in 1326 AE according to the wiki. Gadd appears alive in "Eye of the North" which takes place in 1078 AE, again according to the wiki. So, some 248 years, give or take, difference between them. In the personal story chapter Zojja makes several remarks that make it seem like they were contemporaries or like she'd personally witnessed some of the destruction of Primordus:

Zojja: Same old Gadd, and his creations are still functioning after two centuries without maintenance. He was a cranky old cuss, but he built things to last.Zojja: The funny thing is, he's not even exaggerating yet. Still, if he's this determined to stop intruders, there must be something worth protecting here.

: Done. And am I crazy, or was that containment field holding back destroyers? That alone could revolutionize quasi-physical restraint field theory.Zojja: You're not crazy, Savant. If we'd had those fields back when...well, let's just say more than a few battles might have turned out differently.Zojja: Gadd truly was amazing. Just look at that destroyer containment field. Phenomenal! If we'd had this way back when, we'd still have our underground empire. So, was Zojja around "way back when" or is she speaking in the "If we'd only known then what we know now..." kind of way?And what does Zojja mean when she says "If we'd had those fields back then..." Wasn't Gadd actually working on them "back then"?Is this just spotty writing or have I missed something? Thanks for any illumination!

Zojja was not around then. She never knew him. An "exceptional" asura lifespan is 120 years; they only live 5-10% longer than humans on average.

And yes, given that Gadd died in Eye of the North, Gadd was indeed working on those containment fields "back then" however he did not share such inventions with others before dying. So they were locked away.

Honestly using Gadd was a very odd choice in that story step for more reasons than just that - his lab was over near Sparkfly Fen not Metrica Province, and the voice actor is horribly different, not to mention that the hologram looks like a much, much younger Gadd than what we see in Eye of the North. Would have made far more sense to have been Vekk or something.
