For armor and weapon, you have to get them their respective craftsman to level 500 and craft with them.For trinkets, if you have LW Season 3, then gathering their respective nodes (blood ruby, etc) will grant you empty stat trinkets (stats only from HoT and base game, no PoF stats like harrier). Else you can buy from doing guild mission, or fractal of the mist.You can also buy using laurel but i recommend not to do it, since laurel are precious and necessary for amulet enrichmentIf you are crafting, i suggest take the rabid (ferratus for armor and grizzlemouth for weapon) stat as they are cheaper than other stats. Not to mention you can stat change in the mystic forge which is way cheaper than crafting your preferred stats insignia or inscriptions.Another solution would be doing Fractal of the Mist and raiding as they may drop ascended equipment

Actually, for quite a while now, the price has levelled out between direct craft and craft cheap to swap. There’s a few reasons why you might want to craft cheap to swap to a desired stat, like if you don’t have the recipe, don’t have/want to get materials like the Fulgurite, or the recipes are random drop and expensive from the TP. But cheaper to craft it is not the reason anymore.For example crafting Ferratus’s Breastplate will cost 43g in Materials, to swap this to Viper you’ll need to craft a Viper Insignia (5g), and use 5 ectos (70~s) plus the Anthology (10 Spirit Shards). Bringing it to 48g ish. To craft the Viper Breastplate Directly is 47g. All you’re doing is adding more steps to the process.
