Greatsword Firebrand?

Um...Hi. I haven't played in a longo time and I kinda like how the firebrand works in PvE. It give me some pretty nice utility and some really strong condition damage .

Mostly i've been playing scepter/focus and sword/shield play and i goof off in PvE. I was wondering if anyone could take a look at this build I'm trying out now and tell me if going into a bunch of plaguedocter stuff would be worth the effort?

GS is not a condi weapon. You need a power based build - plaguedoctor is about the worst possible gearing for it. Also, I highly recomend taking advantage of FB's easy access to Quickness with Mantra of Potence and the appropriate traits.

Thanks for replying. I read about that permanent quickness stuff but i cant never seem to get it to stay up like I saw in youtube. I just wanted to play with my greatsword some. i'd use it to pull in a bunch of critters and then use that virtue to hit them with lots of burning and then it would reset when i killed one. Its fun but its hard to play with. i guess it jsut doesn't work well.

If plague docter is bad, what armor should i use?

Run a 100% burn duration build (Balthazar runes, Bringer's weapon, Sigil of Smoldering), then trait your virtues for the 20% burn duration trait (Zealot's Flame), 15% burn damage and the one that makes your Virtue of Justice hit in an AoE every three attacks. after that GS will do lots of burning, 12+ stacks on symbol and whirl, and you can still switch to Justice tome for really big bursts of like, 15k-25k burning.

Works best on Celestial, Rampager, etc. (you want to have some physical damage to go with it, basically.). Just remember to also take the trait that makes your virtues not enter cooldown when activating tomes. You carry perma quickness for the party, too (Mantras+elite Shout).
