Daredevil staff vs Deadeye D/D for fractals/raids

Daredevil staff has about 35k dps with cleave whereas Deadeye D/D has about 37k dps

Which one is better or is it just a matter of taste?

For some thieves, it's a matter of choice and for others it isn't. Staff daredevil has good single target and cleave damage while also being able to support allies with stolen skills on certain bosses and CC, so it's got a little bit of everything. D/d deadeye has the highest single target damage, but it has some drawbacks that some thieves do not like.

For start, it has fewer cleaving capabilities, not as good CC as staff daredevil and the build relies on the team composition because of the Exposed Weakness trait. It was changed from dealing 10% damage when a target has a condition to dealing 2% damage per condition. This is where the team composition matters. You need at least one condition profession like core engineer to keep up the conditions on foes and bosses so that d/d deadeye can deal that high single target damage.
