  1. Trust me Paradox. Over the past year, I have done that so many times it's ridiculous. The only chance I stand of finishing a story episode and getting through the cinematics is if I come in at 2 to 3 am Eastern and the load on the servers is way down. Even then, it is 50/50. I'm running 150mbps into an i7 with top of the line graphics. I have run so many traceroutes it is now my middle name. It is the ANET servers and a game issue. I inquired into 1 gig internet ( it is available from my ISP ) but even they have been assisting with the issue and say it won't help solve the problem. It is totally their problem and they know it but, all they say is, so far our engineers have been unable to duplicate the issue. ( And have been saying this for months and months ). I don't think they really give a damn. Like I said, As long as you will buy gems, that always works.
  2. These disconnect issues have been going on for months and months. How many times has a player gone through an important or even final battle only to be disconnected from the server during the final cinematics? I have been having this issue for ages. I have tried working with support. I have tried working with my ISP ( because one always blames the other ). I have tried every suggestion on every frigging web site I can find. All to no avail. My guess is the fault lies somehow in however ANET determines whether or not you have dropped. When the cinematics run, the system sees nothing coming back from you and presumes you are gone so, BOOT! Bottom line. ANET is well aware it has an issue. It has listed the issue as under investigation for better than 10 or twelve months. It has done nothing, said nothing, fixed nothing. I am sick and tired of sending in diagnostic files only to eventually hear how it is not ANETs problem or " our engineers have not been able to isolate the problem ". Take it or leave it. You will get no concrete support and no answers. Best you can do is sacrifice the odd goat, pray to the dragon spirit and hope for the best. It is not your problem it is ANET's. No other game I play has this problem and many of those servers are a darned site further away and many more pings, jumps, packet movements or whatever. Only ANET but, keep on buying stuff or gems, that always works.
  3. It is, without a doubt, an ANET issue. Our group has players from all over the US and Canada. Different ISPs, Different distances to ANET. Totally different traceroutes. But, we are getting a large number of our members booted ( DC'd ) at the same time. Pretty much always during the end of story cinematics. ANET is fully aware. ANET is doing sweet "F" all to fix it. It has been an ongoing issue for more way than a year. ( And is fast becoming far worse ). Always the same BS from Tech Support. They blame you, your ISP or your grandmothers apple pie but, they will not take responsibility. About all you can do, when the final cinematics are running, keep moving, hitting skills, whatever, but, keep files flowing between you and ANET and, hope for the best. It "may" help if their server doesn't see nothing coming in and presume you are gone which, as I understand it, triggers a disconnect. Whatever, don't count on ANET to do anything. Many have tried, many have failed, many have quit GW2 and moved on to other games from other developers. If you put in a ticket, they will ask you to send a file that doesn't exist because you got booted. They will ask for a traceroute diagnostic which, you will send and then you will hear nothing. I know we have at least 20 to 25 in our guild who are looking for another game instead of this one. Good Luck folks.
  4. I had a major issue with the game crashing at cut scenes and end of mission scenes. The game almost became totally unplayable. Tech support gave me this solution. Perhaps it will work for you. Go into your options screen. On the first page ( General Options ) nr. the bottom, change Streaming Content setting to " On Demand ". Then, on second options page ( Display Options ) change the Frame Limiter setting to 30. Exit and restart the game. It solved 99% of my problems. I have seen no change in graphics quality or any laggyness but I haven't had a disconnect that I could attribute to a game fault since. Might be worth a try and hopefully, it will help you.
  5. Weird but, seem to get far fewer DC's when I play on my laptop as opposed to the desktop. Laptop is wifi, PC is lan. Both Windows 10. PC downloads at twice the speed of the laptop. Uploads are the same speed. Same home network / router / ISP. Speedtest gives me 126 mbps on PC and only 52 mbps on laptop. It is an MSI gaming laptop but, cannot figure out why one is different than the other. May try installing a WiFi card in the PC and see what happens. If it changes anything, will report back...
  6. It always seems to be either during the final dialogue or if to get to a final dialogue, there is a cut scene. I am even getting dumped at the end of missions that many of my other avies finished with no problem. I have one other game that has started to act the same way but it is a FLASH based game so I cannot see any connection.
  7. Yep! Went up against the sniper. Made it through the poison, beat her down, listened to her "end it all now" speech and then, DC'd. Eleven friggin' times. Gave up. Different character. Made it to the last cut scene after beating on Kralk. Where you come too and slowly limp toward the crystalized body of Aurene, as I awake, DC'd eight times. Have given up. Destroy the spear that will kill the dragon. DC'd at least a half a dozen times. We have a small guild that plays storyline and not WvW. Two members recently quit GW completely. Two more are on the verge. And, it isn't getting better. It is getting worse with each new chapter they add. If you look at the list of bugs they actually fix you will see that it is mainly the ones where you can spend real money to buy trinkets, costumes or weapons. Would it not make more economic sense in the long run to concentrate on not losing customers?
  8. You cannot get an answer from ANET. You cannot get support for this issue. You can try all of the "It Worked For Me" suggestions you will find. You can go through the maze of info re Port Forwarding and router modifications. You can argue with your ISP. You can demand or set a static IP address instead of a dynamic IP address. Bottom line is, it is an in-game issue ( Arenanet ) with programming. They have been, according to them, looking into it or, testing a fix but, truth is, for many the issue is getting worse and worse. GW2 is, for many, becoming unplayable. And the number suffering the issue is growing. Do they care? Apparently not. The only suggestion I can make at this time is, look for another game from another company and if you find anything that comes close to this one, post the information.
