  1. Hi Zyreva, I run a similar build as yours, and am having good results too. I almost never lose any 1v1s, but after the recent cleanse nerfs, I do struggle with cele axe thieves (never ending fights with the good ones, but I'm heavily pressured often), and cele condi specter using scepter. I could not out cleanse this condi specter, and for the first time in months I felt like I lost not because of a difference in skill, but because his build seems to counter mine. Any idea how to deal with these specs? Axe thieves in particular are becoming common, and the good ones are really hard to deal with.
  2. In the past half a year or so, I've never lost to any power wb 1v1 on cele druid. I either win or they end up running away when low (of course I can't catch them then). As for cele wb, I've had one or two neverending fights, the rest I won. You need to predict the wb's burst and chain dodges/evade skills then. For power WBs, they open with a port in, burst with their F1, whirling light, sword skills, then swap to greatsword and so on. You do not want to trade damage with them during the initial burst. Just chain dodges and evades. If you get hit by sword 5 immob, lightning reflexes as they'll for sure burst. In fact, don't be afraid to use Lightning Reflexes or Protect Me even when you are not CC-ed, because power WBs don't have hard CCs. Once they're done with their initial burst, you can counter damage them. They cannot outsustain you, and once their elite has been used, they will die or run away. Willbenders are a noob stompers, but there are lots of builds that deals with it. Everyone always underestimates its initial burst, which also does decent AOE. So when one ports into the midst of three inexperienced players, they think they have the upperhand, try to trade damage, and get farmed. That is how you get those wb 1v5 montages.
  3. Hi Kazze, the game might feel imbalanced, but I believe a huge part of it could be due to a usage of wrong builds, and lack of knowledge of other classes. It is indeed very hard to pull off longbow in WvW roaming, how about a shortbow? You can try Paper Roll's condi druid build (check it out on youtube), or try some cele builds on Metabattle. Just cele itself will make you feel much much stronger. If you are having trouble with some class, play it to better understand how it works, and how to counter it. If you do insist on playing longbow, you can try the arrow cart longbow build which utilizes double longbows. Huge fun, but it only works in zergs and not roaming.
  4. I roam a lot and too have only seen one mace ranger so far, was a power soulbeast running the pvp build. I tried and don't see how mace can be effective in roaming, it only works against weaker players or those who are willing to fight you in melee. Totally agree with Zyreva, mobility is bad, it is hard to land skills against skilled players, and you're forced to abandon op cele and go power. Of cuz, it might make a decent dueling build against non cele classes 1v1, but that isn't how roaming goes. I build my ranger to be able to engage 1v2 and sometimes 1v3, beat or stalemate matchups against all cele classes, thieves, and at least survive the most op spec - deadeye. No way a mace ranger can do that, and it'll completely get farmed by deadeye and probably most thief specs. I do see the potential in pvp though, where cele doesn't exist and players are forced to stay on point and engage in melee.
  5. I'm curious too, has anyone managed to come up with a viable WvW roaming ranger build using Mace? Roaming/Dueling, not Zerg.
  6. Hi u got me really interested in sword cata, haven't seen one yet. Mind sharing ur full build?
  7. I have to agree with Gotejjeken here, cele harb in wvw is a very different beast from the pvp one. I've spoken to a few good harbis before, and they told me that there really isn't any ranger build that can beat them, which is of course frustrating to hear. Interestingly, I did have some success with untamed, but only against lousier harbis. Against the good ones I still lose, but it could be a skill issue as I'm very unfamiliar with untamed, and don't know what build to use either. One issue with untamed is that my pet will get killed, which then puts me in a major disadvantage. Do you have any untamed build to recommend?
  8. Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone has a reliable way of beating cele harbinger in wvw. By then I mean a proper duel type scenario, not going full zerk and hoping to one shot sic em with long bow. So far the best I could do is to go cele too with full cleanse (anti toxin runes, double sigil of cleansing and generosity), but i can only beat weaker harbis n not the good players. Any suggestions? : )
