  1. Sorry but none of these complains make sense to me. This is one of the easiest mmos in existence to gear in and its also easier than ever to get gear. Ascended has multiple sources and exotics are 20 silver on TP.

Like you said you get a full celestial exotic set for reaching level 80 which is good enough to play through all open world content. You will never need a perfectly optimized build with exactly the correct stats for open world. If you lose 5 stacks of might due to lacking 1 celestial piece its not going to make any difference.

Skyscale has also been make much easier to get and can be done in a week even for a totally new account.

If people find the open world a crushing slog then maybe its not for them since open world content is 90% of the game. I cannot understand how anyone could find core tyria too challenging. There are childrens games more difficult than that.

So what do you propose they should have added in lieu of what's there that would qualify?

    I'm not OP but there are tons of big features they could have added if they were willing to invest. Some examples;

    - New Race

    - Underwater combat overhaul

    - Actual innovative content surrounding boats, like naval battles

    - Player housing

    - New weapon types, or a new kit style system for new weapons

-Possibly new movement styles, like wall climbing

EOD is lacking meaningful features that will give the game longevity, and reinvigorate old content.

  3. I dont want wings separated. Its annoying to scroll through multiple tabs and the LFG lags out when you do this a lot, refusing to load the tab.

A better solution is to have the LFG search bar save the last search so people who do not want to see sellers can just type -sell or -[ once and never see raid sellers again.

LFG needs an overhaul anyway. Its very outdated, laggy and doesn't function well with the megaservers.

Couldn't agree more with everything you've said.

Not only that, but some players would like to do raiding but won't engage in the content because they'd be shoehorned into playing a specific class and build... which is absolutely the opposite of why I've been playing GW2. Having open world minded raid tier would probably mean more build diversity and would make use of the old content people don't even play anymore.

I really dislike selfish people  who don't enjoy a type of content so want to change and ruin it for those who do. If you want legendary armor so bad then ask anet to give you one for picking herbs and chopping trees like they did the amulet. Leave raids alone.

I'm still advocating DOING THE RAIDS for the rewards. Just about adding a different raid tier for new or casual players... which might actually incentivize development of NEW RAIDS if they can get people playing the content.

Seeing as Raid LFG is usually full of Raid sellers, I'm guessing there's plenty of people who don't "do the thing" and instead pay real money to other players for the rewards.

As I mentioned, the rewards have been there for 5 years. There's no real harm in making content more available to more people.

You just want to put in 0 effort. Have others do the work and get the rewards. You are not doing the raid if 50 other people are carrying you through it.

Yes, larger groups would break mechanics intended for 10 players, but I feel like ANet could do a light balance pass. As far as rewards, ANet could slightly reduce loot tables for public versions (as Blizzard does) but still give the Divinations/Insights to allow more players to craft Legendary Armor.

    No.

I think it looks really good. Especially after seeing it on stream. They did a good job with the color imo. It looks more alive. I’ve never liked the color of the guild decorations so I’m glad they went for this color. And it has several variations of it which makes it more interesting too.

I dunno how anyone on earth could look at this and think its good.

I have to strongly disagree with you on that.

What trivialization Skyscale already imposes on the other mounts would not be worsened by unlimited flight in my opinion.
Skyscale is already capable of doing what other mounts can do, the trade off is that they do those things slower, in some cases significantly! slower.

A Raptor will always clear a gap faster than a Skyscale.
A Springer will always climb a mountain faster than a Skyscale, so long as the rider doesn't mess up.
Skimmer will always cross bodies of water faster than a Skyscale.
Sand Jackal will always outpace the Skyscale with it's blnks.
Griffon and Rollar Beetle will always cover massive amounts of terrain significantly faster than the Skyscale
Warclaw... well that can go in WvW and Skyscale can't.. but other than that it's the only mount in PvE the Skyscale makes completely irrelevant but that's intentional.

Not even map breakout and skipping content is cause for concern, dedicated and creative players already do use various mounts and abilities to get around these restrictions and skip content in Gw2.. hell we've been doing it ever since the mounts were added to the game lol
It's actually more fun to some of us figuring out ways to get around no mount areas and skip things like JP's than it is to actually do the JP itself.
If anything unlimited flight would make it even easier to do it and take all the fun out of it.

    You are joking right?

Wow, are players ACTUALLY trying to imply that Anet didn't support raids enough to make them sustainable? That's some level of special right there. I have no doubt that Anet pushed that content in people's faces as much as they possibly could before throwing in the towel. There were SO many things about raids that discouraged players from engaging that content, it was inevitable they would go away.

Different difficulty levels might do the trick for Strikes (do I understand correctly there are now three levels ... the story, the regular and the CM?) though I think unfamiliar mechanics will remain a significant barrier past story level if people can't be carried by more experienced players in the team. That's just the reality ... I know it's not a popular prospect for the more accomplished raiding community but ... strikes will be more successful content the more willing the accomplished people are to engage with the less engaged people. It's too bad because ... the same would have been true with raids.

Yes when you pull all development to work on living world, and as a result content releases drop to once a year, if that, then you are not supporting the content enough to make it sustainable. Happened with PVP, happened with WvW and happened with raids.

Its been 250 years in game between Guild Wars 1 and 2. It's not some horrible idea to keep the march of time, change and factions onward. Not everything stays the same and I do think they will have some fan service for those who played GW1 and enough for us to chew on who only played GW2. Nostalgia is great but why not have something new? If everything stayed the same then it would just be a repeat of Factions wouldn't it with more water dragon lore.

This would be fine if they replaced it with anything interesting and related to cantha. Instead they removed a stone forest with gothic atmosphere to replace it with stock assets from HOT, making a generic forest with some ruins thrown in. Boring.

@mythical.6315 not exactly but get kicked cause you have idk 10 mats left to reach the 250 mark is it. Or kicked cause of one mechanic mistake is absolutly toxic and thats litterly what they do.

I have never seen that outside of speed clear reset runs, even then the 250 LI clears will allow1-2 mistakes without kick generally. Only reasons Ive seen people kicked regularly are constantly messing up basic mechanics, like 3+ times and doing less damage than the supports.

However, by  cutting the Saga and making the second half lower quality in order to do so, justifiably raised most players' expectations for EoD by a ton.

This perfectly describes how I feel. They trashed primordus' 10 year setup for this expansion so it better be worth it. So far it is not. Nothing but recycled animations, recycles assets, recycled textures and even recycled enemies. Oh and fishing, as a main feature. >>

Well originally it was free. You had to be at the event of course, but if you were they were literally just handing codes out to anyone they met.

It was kind of the same with the December gem store promotion, you had to buy 4,000 gems but if you did the mini was a free bonus, you still had the gems to spend on something else. I sort-of paid for it because I wouldn't normally buy that many gems in one month, but it just meant I didn't buy any for a few months after that. I know other people who didn't even know the promotion was happening, they just got the mini sent to them and had no idea why or where it came from.

I'm just glad it's available again. One less unavailable item. 🙂

It completed devalued one of the last rare minis though. Its not the end of the world but I dont like that choice.

Well story path is the hardest to get people for since they offer their end reward only once.

    Edit

I think when people say it is easy they talk about the explorable paths.

That's fair. I imagine COF and AC are pretty easy to get people for explorable. SE maybe not so much.

  15. Overall I find them all to be pretty disappointing. The overuse of recycled animations is painful in these specs and really makes them look like a lazy effort.

    • Untamed and harbinger are just ok. Their mechanics are quite bland and feel half assed.  Id like ranger hammer if you werent forced to use it to actually gain anything from the elite.
    • Virtuoso I am actually excited for, but not because its a good mesmer spec. Its not. Im excited because it fills a simple to play long range caster role that ele SHOULD have got.
    • Bladesworn and vindicator both were not what their respective classes needed from an elite, war already has plenty of bursty power specs and really needed either a support or viable pvp spec and vindicator needed a more simple power dps. For those reasons I dont think these specs are a good fit. However their mechanics are interesting ideas and fun enough to play with.
    • Mechanist is fun in open world and feels strong. But its another pet AI class and AI in this game is awful.
    • Specter is the only one I really liked. Needs better ally targeting though.
    • Willbender is trash. Offers nothing that DH and HB dont do better and is clunky to play. Way way too many reused thief animations so much that I felt I literally was playing a nerfed thief.
    • Catalyst is the absolute worst of them all. Every single mechanic it has works against itself. Its main class mechanic is a terribly weak combo field...with huge huge ramp up and a massive CD. Wtf were they thinking. Another melee spec was NOT what ele needed but if they insisted they could have at least made it semi cohesive. They just took parts of tempest and weaver and threw them together and the result is nothing at all works. Needs an entire rework imo.

I was waiting to see the elites since its the only thing I think was redeemable about EOD but having played all their betas, I really dont know if I will bother with EOD at this point.

My static would use it on Cardinal Sabir, Conjured Amalgamate, and I've used it on CM Arkk.  Each one has an aegis-bypassing attack that causes instant downs.  They'd also use it on Deimos, because the tears have a habit of canceling out aegis right before the instant-death attack.  Basically, any place that has an instant-down mechanic and/or a lot of ambient damage flying around.

Deimos tears don't strip aegis anymore and haven't for years afaik.
