@Ashur.7648 said:There are countless bounty trains going on, where large squads take on multiple if not all bounties.
Where are all these bounty trains when I'm playing? Is it only US players who run those, is that why there's never any in my time zone? :/
@Ashur.7648 said:I agree 100% with this statement Rauderi. I think it would be awesome if there was some red, pulsating, X on the map showing where a bounty was in progress.I'm not sure how much that'd actually help, though. I mean, chat alerts such as "legendary wyrm at my tag" never seem to work. Couple of players turn up, not enough to kill it in ten minutes. And as for the other bounties, I imagine that most of the time they'd either already be dead or the timer is running out by the time you travel to the bounty.

@jwaz.1908 said:No skritt. You try to go solo, and you'll forget your skills and get focused on the shinies. (Then again, how is that different from most noob players?)I don't expect it to actually happen, but it should be easy to get around that limitation. For instance, playable Skritts could be result of some kind of Asura experimentation that lets them retain intelligence at long range.
Show me a krait that doesn't want to kill us, and I'd consider them. There'd be ways to make "boots" and "leggings" fit on them, somehow.I've never been fan of 'pure evil' species, so it'd be great if Anet at least added some non-aggro Kraits as NPCs. If they ever get around to making the underwater expansion, a pro-pact Krait rebel faction would make things interesting.

@Veprovina.4876 said:No one voted Krait? Seriously?
Would require too much work on armors and animation (not to mention the mounts), so it seems extremely unlikely to happen. Even if I'd like to see them.
@jwaz.1908 said:Kodan is unlikely also since they're considered a "lesser" race, and we have the Kodan combat tonic to fulfill that role.
Also, Kodans running around in desert zones would feel completely out of place.

@DietPepsi.4371 said:I have to admit. The story in this expansion was probably the most farfetched, and a typical "You are the chosen one" type story. The fight against Zhaitan was the most believable for me, and I do much prefer stories where you are a part of the machine, rather than the one person that saves the world.
And I have to agree. Being a figurehead was fine, but this expansion dropped all pretenses of "everyone must work together to defeat the enemy", and instead became typical power fantasy. We're the dragonborn now.
Being the 'chosen one' cheapens all accomplishes, because we were 'fated' to succeed.

Just gonna list the dislikes.
- Bounties fail too often. Bounty dailies are irritating, because those can't be soloed. For example, yesterday's PvE dailies included a dungeon and bounties, so I had to play WvW instead to get the dailies done.
- Aggro radius is too large, and repops too frequent. Constant combat takes all joy out of exploration.
- There's so much focus on combat in the story that getting to the good parts (actual story) takes too long. I'm old, my reactions aren't good enough for the boss battles.
- Glad to see that renown hearts are back, but they feel like busywork compared to core Tyria.
Edit: pruned to under 100 words.

Yeah, can we just drop this topic? The only reason there weren't enough mastery points on first days was because the story was timing out and players couldn't get those points. So raptor 3 was unreachable.
-
The randomness means that eventually anyone should be able to complete it.
Took me about ten tries, but eventually he asked for water and coconuts several times in a row.

@CptAurellian.9537 said:That was the only point where I was stuck briefly, but there are enough points that don't require too much effort. Sous-chef, raptor treat achievement and, I think, the all bounty areas achievement in Crystal Oasis did it for me.Maybe it's different on other servers, but so far I haven't seen anyone complete some of the bounties successfully. For instance, I camped at the legendary wyrm for five hours during the Crystal Desert daily bounty. There were plenty of attempts, none got it below 30% and the group attempting it grew smaller and smaller on every try as players concluded that it's just not going to die.

Raptor 3 is clearly the biggest hurdle, especially if you lack gliding and can't get the quicksand mastery. After that there's no shortage of them.

@KalTaron.4961 said:They may have changed it but when I did it today there were only a handful of adds for the final boss. Nothing to cause a problem.
Tried it again, just to check. Nope, it was actually worse this time. Stopped counting after killing fourty reinforcements. Couldn't figure out any way to stop them from re-spawning, either.
I think this is either glitched (since some players don't seem to get as many adds) or we're meant to avoid the reinforcements and focus on the boss.
@Aurelian Omenkind.2470 said:You guys know that the explosives one-shot most of the reinforcements in that mission, right? Or at least they seriously damage them. They also take a nice chunk out of the big guy. Run for the explosives and toss away.
That tip did not work at all.As far as I can tell, the explosion only damages single forged no matter how clustered together they are (even though AoE would make more sense). And they kept re-spawning faster than I could lob explosives at them. Hardly effective. Not to mention that the explosives only did no more than 1% damage to the boss, which is definitely not 'a nice chunk'. It's far more effective to just kill it the old-fashioned way.

@Rognik.2579 said:So, there's the three mastery points you get from doing the story up to that point (three for finishing the chapters, plus one for unlocking raptors), and then mostly the mastery points in the Crystal Oasis. There are definitely enough, and a smorgasbord available once you get the springer, but getting that last mastery point or two is pretty tight.
Yep. One from the chef, one from the memory game, another on the west edge of the map. The other three require new mounts, or gliding. And I very much doubt that many players will be able to figure out the quicksand mastery without consulting a guide, since it took a long time for the beta players to collectively solve that.
-
Just saw some guardian spam "Save Yourselves!" at the chef. That was hilariously ineffective, since it also made the chef run faster (and harder to hit).
-
Yeah, those adds were crazy. 30 seems like an exaggeration, but I can count a group of 12 mobbing me in one screenshot. And then they camped at the checkpoint. Rytlock went down easily, and so did my armor after that. The disjointed dialogue after beating the boss was pretty funny, though: Rytlock bragging that he's fought tougher children, even though he was downed multiple times in the battle.
And then an another boss afterwards. No refugees left alive by the end, had to let npcs handle it while I idled armorless.
Random thought: was it because I managed to kill all of the scouts, without raising alert? Maybe the game ported in all reinforcements at once.
-
There's only four mastery points on the first map that are accessible without other mounts, and it takes six points to get the rabbit. So yeah, that's a problem, especially if you can't get the story to load. Like many of European players.
-
I'm sure it'll get easier once there's less of a crowd, but it is pretty bad at the moment. Hard to tell who's the chef among all the pcs, etc.
-
On the top of that, the mobs seem to repop almost instantly. I kill one, and another one repops before I'm done killing the next. Not that there's much point in fighting anyway, don't need more xp.
So most of my experience so far consists of running away and dodging attacks. Not exactly my idea of fun, and definitely doesn't feel 'heroic'. And that's with a Guardian. Can't imagine what it'll be like with my squishier alts.
-
@VaLee.5102 said:Do the story.
Can't, the instances aren't loading. And all remaining masteries are unreachable without new mounts, as far as I can tell. So pretty much stuck here, just wasting xp exploring with max bar.
-
I stopped caring about player housing after playing a couple of MMOs that had that. You spend a lot of time decorating, but hardly anyone else will see it and most of your time is spent adventuring anyway. It'd be even more pointless in GW2 because there's no global chat, so there's really not much you can do at 'home'.

Voted for 'new playable race', but that'd depend on the race. Would definitely buy it for Tengu, but most of the other suggestions seem pretty meh. Some, such as Largoz, might make me play less: they're just too 'edgy'. I know I wouldn't have to play as one, but it'd mean that there'd be a lot more of them as NPCs.
As for new professions? Definite buy if they added monks, would love to try Asura Monk. And bards sound interesting too.
(Theoretically) What new playable race do you want?

Also, the dialogue in the newest expansion seems identical for all races. So they wouldn't even need to rewrite that one. ...I believe that the very reason they made it identical was so that it'd be easier to add new races in the future.
