I went to zerser and I do not regret one bit is really fun to play but the sustain isnt as good as if were core warrior since we lose one trait that could be used for more dmg or sustain to use zerker.

Which trait are you referring to? One traitline you meant? If you take defense, strength, berserk, you have all sustain you need. Tactics could provide more for core, but most would pick discipline anyway. You can still take discipline instead of defense if you confortable enough.

I meant specialization xD, this game has so much content that i mistake sometimes.

But in few words would be berserker PVE and spellbreak PVP?

I really only Pvp so here's my 2 cents.

Berserker is the prefered war spec for raids over spellbreaker in most cases unless there is a need for boon removing. You still run banners.

Spellbreaker is the best warrior spec for Pvp due to it's sustain, mitigation, boon removal and how that plays into warrior's role as a side noder

Berserker has the most potential damage of any warrior spec but lacks severely in the sustain department. Warrior isn't a team fighter or a dps as far as Pvp is concerned. You're expected to hold nodes and survive outnumbered fights for a decent anount of time.

Berserker is terribly predictable as it has the same problem Reaper does. Your damage is gated by your big scary mode and nobody wants to stick around for it. So they will kite you or lock you down. Warrior as a spec relies on landing burst skills for sustain and when you're locked out of Berserk wether by the 30 adren requirement or the CD you are going to be hurting for heals.

Berserker also has to build to capitalize on it's damage either by being tanky enough to use Berserk or to go all in as a one trick glass cannon. When compared to spellbreaker with it's built in mitigation and freedom to build for damage the difference in effectiveness is fairly stark.

All in all berserker is still a load of fun to play casually in unranked but spellbreaker is better for ranked.

Well I dont really do PVP and when I do is 99% WvW over PVP, I only do PVP if the dailies are REALLY REALLY HARD to do or there is no other option but only PVP left and even so I'd probably would use my Deye thief cause is the pvp class I'm most used(and like it) so is more PVE. Both specs can do both content just fine. If you're talking about what is most "meta" though, then yeah, that's a fair assumption. Spellbreaker outshines berserker in sustain in PvP due to fullcounter and magebane tether+ might makes right. Berserker should always out damage spellbreaker in a PvE senario though it's not as survivable. You can play both in either though and do just fine. I would go with the one you think you'll enjoy the most and make it work.

I see thanks, I'll probably go for zerker since I already tested in pvp lobby and i liked, but I'll test again to make sure. Once I deleted a lv 80 renegade because i didnt like it. If went for herald i probably would still have the char cuz herald is much more helpfull specially WvW, so I dont want commity the same mistake again just like I said I dont have time to farm for 600 HP for a single character beside main.

Like I said arenanet should think 10x before nerfing classes for PVE, if they nerf PVP is understandable but PVE... and I hope they can fix the chatting for tempest-elem asap cause i stopped playing mine and I am seriously thinking making a necro as my main because again like I said I dont want to turn off the chatting because I like it.

I just wish that Core necro had a purpose and use in PvE, I like the different shroud. But its simply too underpowered. Whereas the Core only for several other especs is still useful.

I dont think shroud underpower specially the skills 4 and 5. I like core builds too specially for thief and ranger, althow I still dont have a rang lv 80 but i intend to have one and if I do probably will be core cause I dont like druid and Bsoul is melee so I intend to have a RANGED character. Archer... melee?... no thank you, in my opinion archers are RANGED and not melee.

Rangers is not an archer alone. Their archetype uses both melee and range.

I know but they should have one elite specialization focused more on RANGED attack instead heal/support or melee combat.. well thats my opinion.

PS: I really love this game but there are some 'erros and mistakes' arenanet committed, well not all games are perfect huh xD.

  9. I dunno if its me, but damage feels kinda pathetic in fire for ele.

I talked with someone asking around about builds since i mistakenly used the wrong type of build knowing all to well water isn't used for dps but had it anyways for the vuln.

anyways with fire, you kinda get locked in with scepter warhorn and seems almost pointless to take fresh air just for overloads. I'm still not sure if staff or scepter is go to since meteor and storm sigil got nerfed, but I'm still kinda leaning that staff is probably since you got lava font which is up fairly often does a bit of damage.

Everything on scepter warhorn has 15+ seconds.

Staff works very well with weaver who has 3 seconds CD on attunements and more than 50 skills to spam, the only long cooldown skills for fire staff are the 4 and 5 the rest are okay.

  11. @ZDragon.3046 said:Both are good options for open world so long as you build them right and use the right weapons.Reaper is best focused with power weapons, greatsword, axe, warhorn, or even daggers if you want.Scourge is best focused for weapons with condi and utility like scepter, torch, possibly even staff etc.

Reaper will be easier to get running because its a bit more basic imo and it will prob be easier to learn different mechanics of different parts of the game while playing it.Scourge can take a bit more effort if you are new to necro in general and even I cant play it in every situation where mechanics need to be focused more over damage. But for general open world so long as you build it right you can ease into it.

If you are considering competitive modesReaper is likely going to be the better option if playing solo.Scourge really needs people like another scourge, a firebrand, or a tempest on its back 24/7 to protect it. Solo scourge play in pvp modes is going to be very very difficult.

IF you want both but dont want to do say HoT hero points and instead do PoF hero points because they are easier you can always make 2 necro characters and make 1 a reaper and 1 a scourge and you have both all you have to do is swap toons. Yeah you still have to grind the hero points twice but still PoF hero points if you know where to go + mounts can take you 30 mins or less to unlock a single full elite ;)

Also keep eyes out for hero point trains in the looking for group HoT areas and PoF areas which can speed things up considerably depending on the group and commander

thank you, its more for open world and things like that the pvp, competitive part i rather to leave for warrior and thief who are the king of pvp xD. As a fan of the power builds reaper is the best option, cause i hate taking long to kill enemies.

  12. @Excursion.9752 said:Now that we have build templates why not have both?

I have two Necro's one for WvW and one for PVE both run two different builds one reaper one scourge. My WvW necro has a build for scourge zerg play and one reaper for small sided fights. My PvE necro has a scourge build for fractals and a reaper build for open world.

Well because I dont have time to farm for 600+ HP for both elite spec?

  13. Man these new gather tools are awesome arenanet heard my prayers to bring new ones hehe xD. I didnt have enough to buy the volatile and the unbound magic, I was dying to buy them separately but I didnt want the choya cause i think ugly so the new ones arrived just in time, shame I couldnt buy all, now i just need the plant gather tool. If anyone wants to present me one as christmas/new year present I'll accept LOL.

    Thanks.

  14. Thank you, thank you guys, more forward I'm going to try power build scorge and see how it is. This community is the best thumbs up.

The funny thing is when i was going to play necro I always intended to go for scor first cause there are so many necros/reapers and very few scor that I wanted something different, but this thing of nerfing classes and eli specs in PVE kinda discourage the players. I stop playing my supposely tempest elem not cuz of any nerf but because of the annoying chating when charging the prof skills(F1-F2 ETC), I dont want to turn off the chating cuz i like it but really spamming chating EVERYTIME on mount/dismount, no way.

They should think 3x times before nerfing PVE content or try not to nerf too much, if is to nerf PVP, WVW I understand, but PVE... some kind of nerfs end up ruining a certain class making the players stop playing with them, same goes for some 'bugs' like the chating i just mention.

  15. Thanks for the help guys I went to reaper now and i do not regret one bit, the dmg is great just by wearing greatsword and it skills and my character is not even full geared, the mechanics are easier and simpler than scourge which requires some more practice. For now I stick with reaper even why i went to the shroud build and I like to jump in middle of group of mobs and kill everything hehe xD.

Further comments are appreciate for those who also needs help to decide between these elite spec..

  16. I tried both eli specs in PVP lobby and they are nice but I am in doubt to decide which one to focus first xD. Would you guys help me to decide please? Its for PVE content like open world and etc. For exemple.. X is good vs group but not vs bosses, good AOE bad x1 and etc. Appreciate the help.

No, no. You can start any chapter of any Living World season at any time.

You have to get the character to level 80 first, but you're right that you don't need to complete the personal story or play any of the other episodes.

So if i have a character lv 80 I can jump straight to the last fight against Zhaithan and kill it for the items without have to do the others booring level 60 and 70 missions?

No. Just like you can't start Episode 6 of Season 4 and jump straight to the instance inside Kralkatorik.

    The
    Personal Story
    , the
    Heart of Thorns
    story and the
    Path of Fire
    story are
    not
    Living World
    .

    You can start any
    episode
of Living World Season 2, 3 or 4 at any time, unrelated to your status in the Personal Story (the Zhaitan campaign from launch) or the expansion stories.

You can also start either of the
    expansion
    stories at any time.

Each episode (8 in LS2, 6 each in LS3&4) the entire Personal Story (from lvl 10 to killing Zhaitan), and each entire expansion story (IIRC 4 acts in each, might be 5 in PoF) are discrete blocks.

OOOh i get it now thanks thumbs up
