  1. You don't have to craft new Ascended armor and weapons whenever the meta build changes -- all you need is an EXOTIC inscription, five globs of ectoplasm, and an item that is purchased with 15 spirit shards. Some ascended trinkets from Bloodstone Fen can be "stat swapped as well." https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Stat_changing#Ascended_weapons_and_armor
  2. Well, Nika's gear IS berserker gear, but if you're buying it from the Trading Post the "Berserker's" prefix costs a lot more for the same stats! (There are also a lot of weapons out there with Berserker stats that are cheaper than the ones actually named "Berserker's Something.) As Alcatraznc.3869 said above, "People will always recommend berserker or viper for maximum damage but that is strictly for experienced player or group content which doesnt apply to you. For OW, celestial, trailblazer or a mix of marauder + berserker + whatever thing with power stats works." Berserker's gear is great for damage, but terrible for survival. Other types of gear (like Marauder's or Valkyrie's) will add health through the vitality stat, which will give you more hit points and not be as "squishy" or a "glass cannon." Trailblazer's will give toughness but also replace power with the condition damage, which is usually for "damage over time" builds, which is not what you're used to now. [I use Marauder's gear on most of my power builds for the extra vitality/health, but a more cost effective way might be to just replace A FEW pieces of your current armor with Valkyrie's pieces -- and I would save the Berserker's that you don't use. That way as you get better at dodging and damage mitigation, you can start adding those back again as the game starts to get easier in a few weeks/months.]
  3. For some reason that link took me to a GW2Efficiency page that asked for my API number -- that doesn't bother ME since I love that site and use it almost daily, but it might confuse some first time users. GW2Spidy [ https://www.gw2spidy.com/ ] lets us search for items with the search bar in the middle of the main page, and then adjust the range of dates with the slider at the VERY bottom of each items' page, at the bottom of the graph, OR with the "zoom" buttons at the top left corner of the graph. In this case the zoom buttons aren't much use since the "1 month" view goes back to March 4, but it's easy enough to move the slider at the bottom to show six weeks' or two months' of prices for a "before and after EoD" graph.
  4. It IS in fact "250 Hero Points" per character for each elite. As someone with too many alts -- like my core Ranger, my Druid, and my Soulbeast -- I'll probably be creating a new alt soon to run all over HoT and PoF maps to collect those points and make an Untamed. (Before EoD launched, I ran around with two other new alts collecting points for my Mechanist and Virtuoso, so I could train each of those elites in seconds after launch). Many people just keep collecting points on one character so their "Ranger" can alternate between two or three different elites -- but if I did that I might have to stop and swap gear around when I changed specializations. This way I pick an alt from the character screen and know that each is already geared how I want them.
  5. Ohhhhhh, thank you both VERY much -- that's exactly what it was!!! I wouldn't have expected a mail carrier to work with the trading post like that, and I don't even recall enabling that mail carrier when I purchased it recently, but that solved it -- thank you both again! Edit: from the wiki: Mail carriers are shown when: Sending a mail. Receiving a mail. Putting any good for sale in the Trading Post. At least I know about it now! 😃
  6. I know how ridiculous this sounds, but as I said on the official Bug Report, this is just too goofy for me to have made up. Since sometime last night, every time one of my necromancer (technically reaper) characters lists something on the Black Lion Trading Post, she appears to pull a slingshot out of nowhere, shoot an invisible something almost straight up into the air, and the sound effect of in-game "event fireworks" plays: "Fwwwwp-zeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...." Every. Single. Time. I've logged COMPLETELY out of the game, and I've tried logging out just enough to switch characters, and had alts sell things on the TP without the bug affecting them (or at least, not yet.) It seems to happen with both the "sell instantly" and the "list this item" buttons. Obviously a reaper has no business firing a shortbow with a slingshot skin in the first place, which makes this whole thing even sillier! I asked in local chat in Divinity's Reach and Rata Sum if anybody else could see or hear this animation and didn't get a reply. It's certainly not a game-breaking bug, but it's sort of annoying to hear it every time I sell something. So has ANYBODY else had this bug happen to them? I can't find anything else like this on the forums, and Goggle didn't show me anything elsewhere. Thanks in advance!
  7. What items are you "sending" to the bank? Are you using the "Deposit All Materials" button from the upper right corner of your inventory window? If so, the items are being deposited in the bank, but they're under the "Material Storage" tab on the left side of the bank's "Account Vault" window, NOT in the first, default "Bank" tab. If that's not the issue, telling us what items you're sending, and how you're sending them will certainly help with troubleshooting.
  8. Three other threads on the topic so far (and counting) =) https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/112390/above-below-indicator-on-resource-nodes-no-longer-showing#latest https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/112147/altitude-indicators-missing-during-map-completion https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/112149/icon-level-arrow-indicator-missing-from-map I'm hoping it's NOT related to this other problem, which apparently got fixed about the same time the "arrow icons" disappeared from the mini-map: https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/111909/mini-map-is-fuzzy
  9. I'm having the same problem, and just to consolidate these threads, so are these people: https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/112147/altitude-indicators-missing-during-map-completion https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/112149/icon-level-arrow-indicator-missing-from-map I'm hoping it's NOT related to this OTHER problem, which apparently got fixed about the same time the "arrow icons" disappeared from the mini-map: https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/111909/mini-map-is-fuzzy
