You play guard isn't it? Just play dh, and poof, no more thief. That's a real counter here.

All classes have access to reveal excepted thief mesmer and elem. Elem, no one cares, and mesmer and thief has also access to stealth so..

I am not complaining about Thief, I know that Spear of Justice is great against stealth and I think Dragonhunter has a good time against most specs with stealth.

What I am saying is to make Reveal available on easy to access weapon skills across all classes, because it would enable counterplay against stealth as a mechanic. Best case scenario would be if every build had 1 weapon skill which applies Reveal

  2. First of all I really like the changes done to the GM trait Deathless Courage - the 20% damage reduction was a great idea.

However I feel like having the 20% damage reduction during Crashing Courage (F3) kinda defeats the purpose of of the trait, since the effect of Crashing Courage (F3) already provides us with alot of damage mitigation in form of Aegis during its effect - meaning the 20% less damage reduction isn‘t really effective when we are already blocking to begin with.

Is there a chance we can get the 6s Deathless Courage 20% damage reduction effect AFTER Crashing Courage (F3) wears off (Similar to the changes made to the Elementalist trait Stone Heart last year) ? Would make alot more sense in my opinion - especially in competitive game modes.

So basically what you are saying is that even tho X weapon is literally unfair to fight against BUT give more time for ppl to figure out optimizations for the said weapon X so it becomes even more stronger...

You see where the problem is right?

If a weapon is strong even without any optimizations for the builds, how could those optimizations make it more acceptable?

And yes, I actually went against some mace rangers, and I thought druid is annoying to fight against until I met mace untamed

With the way the game is going right now, it really seems that PvP is losing skillcap really fast, there is no skill involved in landing one skill and then from there chain CCing, especially now that mace and pet are perma stunning combined with the other utilities

What I am saying is that neither you nor the OP have done scrims with mace ranger  - meaning your opinion is completely subjective and based on you being clapped by probably a better player. Calling new mace ranger  unfair when you don’t know its match ups or how it performs between players of similar skill level is just ridiculous. Leave the judgement to the actual good players

  4. Not a ranger main, but it is  crazy that the new weapons aren’t even 3 days old and people are already complaining in the forums. How about you let people come up with builds first and test the new weapons in scrims instead of instantly jumping to conclusions and demanding nerfs just because you lost a match/duel against a mace ranger?

  5. Pog Guardian and Willbender changes. My only suggestion would be to not be too conservative with the new Glacial Heart heal in competitive game modes, because it could enable alot of unsed Willbender skills such as Bane Signet, Heel Crack and Heavens Palm. Please make it heal for a considerable amount in PvP since it is only self-heal to begin with.

  6. Yeah, the reason behind that is that having 20 weapon skills instead of the usual 10 means a single Warrior skill has to have more impact than a single Elementalist skill. Can‘t have 20 whole skills in your disposal and expect them to hit as hard as skills from classes without 4 attunements.

  7. Not sure how Ranger Greatsword has gone under the radar for so long, but a weapon that has high DPS, a block skill, 2 evade skills, stealth through a leap finisher into smoke field, a hard cc which refreshes and sets up your burst skill (Maul) and insanely low cooldowns has to be without a single doubt the most powercrept weapon in the entire game and the weapon itself carries the majority of all current and past Ranger builds

  8. I like the weapon design of Pistol/Pistol in PvP so far and have only a few minor suggestions

    1) Power coefficients across all skills are too low and Burn duration should be set to 2 seconds in PvP - it is a bit sad that power builds can‘t benefit from the new weapon set, because the Pistols do too little strike damage in PvP, especially if we consider that the damage is single target when compared to Greatsword or Hammer. The Burn duration (1s) is a bit too short as well - Guardian already has limited access to conditions and the one damage condition it has access to needs some proper uptime (2s - same as Permeating Wrath) in PvP.

    2) Symbol needs a Boon or bullets shot inside the Symbol should deal increased Strike Damage - it feels like the Symbol gains only value if played on condition variants. When played on power it is rarely worth to cast it. I would suggest giving Quickness to the Symbol or extra Strike Damage to the bullets when casted inside the Symbol in order to make the weapon set attractive for power builds as well.

    3) Add damage to Pistol 5 or else there is no reason to charge it beyond Charge Level 1 in PvP - there is no advantage for a player to charge Pisrol 5 beyond Charge Level 1 since the orb is slower on Charge Level 2 & 3 and there is no damage bonus for charging it longer in PvP. Treat it like Earthshaker on Hammer Warrior and give it some damage in PvP since it is the signature skill of the kit.

    4) It would be really nice if some of the skills had also a little bit of utility like a port backwards or boons - Pistols seem a bit bland utilitywise. I get that they are supposed to be a DPS weapon set, but only damage without any utility or sustain (especially on Guardian) seems a bit weird in my opinion and heavily limits Pistol/Pistol in competitive game modes.

Overall Pistol/Pistol seems like content to be excited about if a few minor adjustments are made! Tell the Skills Dev who made the weapon set he did a great job!
