  1. as it stands right now from a wvw perspective the autoattack is extremely lackluster and does pretty much no dmg. It needs the symbol to do any damage.

    pistol 2 is alright, it's not a projectile and that is its only redeeming quality because the dmg is also fairly low. Full cele stats with 100% burn duration, condi food and full condi infusions and some might gives you about 4k burn dmg if the entire ability hits an enemy and nothing is cleansed. Also the fact that the beam is not improved by the symbol is pretty sad imo.

    The symbol itself is a kitten skill like pretty much all symbols in pvp environment. But this one is placed directly below you on a ranged weapon. And i get why that is done, because that way you can actually use the autoattack and pistol 4 to combo with the symbol, but the symbol itself does pretty much nothing 90% of the time.

    I did some duels with some guild mates and bleeding dmg was practically nonexistant. Like less then 5% of the total dmg dealt after the fight and that brings me to pistol 4. Because this skill only does damage in combination with pistol 3 (the symbol) so it inflicts burning as well as bleeding and without the symbol (no burn and only bleed) the damage is very very lackluster.

    And pistol 5 sadly is just a small little knockback on a huge cd. Because charging the shot is like screaming at your enemies please use reflect now and charging the shot doesn't actually do anything. If you fully charge it you get two stacks burn out of it in addition to the small knockback... very underwhelming.

     

    All in all i'd say pistol mainhand is mediocre (only because pistol 2 is not a projectile and as such useable in wvw because there is so much reflect going on and because the symbol has such a low casting time) and offhand pistol is sadly quite bad (pistol 4 only does decent damage if combo'd with pistol 3 and pistol 5 is just sad in wvw).

    that's just bs. If a thief dies it was because of his own mistakes or he was outnumbered.

    The only way to play against stealth spamming thieves is to play heavy sustain builds. For that reason i understand when people play cele because it pisses thief players of  'cause they cannot whittle you down as easily as when you play some glass stats.

    There is no way to prevent a thief from using stealth. And if you somehow managed to pressure the thief he just uses daggerstorm/shadow step/shortbow 5 and resets the fight.

    There is no real counterplay to stealth in this game aside from sustain. You always get the drop on people. You cannot react to it. There is no downside to using it. You don't have to be close to burst them from stealth. The enemy instantly loses their target when you stealth, no fade time or anything. And you can even do damage and instantly vanish after that for example by using heartseeker through black powder directly into your target or use steal to close the gap mid animation (and still be stealthed after the attack).

    the difference is that even cele wb just dies when attacked by mutliple people while cata just blocks or uses magnetic/shocking aura and survives. Aside from 1v1s cele wb is pretty bad. (in 1v1s it is strong but for example cele hammer cata is still a whole league above it while also having far better tools to survive being outnumbered). And against blobs the cele dmg is not enough to kill anybody so why even play cele wb aside from when you are new and just want to survive a bit longer.

    Torch is such an outdated forgetful weapon, with a TERRIBLE tracking Torch#4 throw....(not counting Willbender can't even use Torch#5)  that no one is even asking for buffs because at this point, most Guards don't even want buffs for it lol. We threw the towel YEARS ago. Just give us pistol so we can forget Torch ever existed.

    why can't wb use torch 5?

    The Mainhand looks to just have a slow firing single pistol shot and the symbol skill will be dependent on other weapon skills enhancing it.

    it all depends on the numbers, but the reveal disappointed me three times already.

    No mention of unblockable, this right here means it's pretty much worthless in wvw aside from duels and ganking probably.

    The symbol is placed "below" you. That means in pve u are always going to be in melee range for the symbol to deal dmg. And if there is not really heavy burn dmg attached to it its use will also be severely limited in pvp and wvw too.

    And the last disappointment is more subjective because it's a condi weapon and as such probably only useable with cele in wvw.

     

    Imagine pistol/shield. Pistol auto is probably some generic autoattack that deals low dmg and applies some bleed. Pistol 2 is unknown so far and pistol 3 is a symbol that is placed in melee range right below you. With the two shield skills how do you have any pressure on this weapon set? I imagine engie pistol shield without toolbelt and without kits. So far it sounds very meh. High damage numbers could change this obviously so let's see what we get on the full reveal in about a week from now.

    A thief is weaker, more squishy and dont have as much cleanses... stealth is the only natural advantage and should never be criticized.

    if you lose to a wb as a thief you suck. Simple as that. Thief hardcounters wb.

    wrong. when u do that u are just waisting your cooldowns, that is only an option if u heavily outnumber the thief.

    thieves are barely visible so u cannot ever react to them or go on the offensive. The only "counter" is to play heavy sustain builds so they cannot kill you but a good thief won't die vs anybody. It's also the only class that can reliably fight 1vx fights cause you just can't hit them ever. And if they come out of stealth it's because you are already so low/blew so many cds that u cannot do anything to them anymore. this was not different before the feb2020 patch. Stealth is just giga broken in this game. especially when u combine it with the best mobility and heavy burst too.

    I'm posting here to help to help anet have a balance that keeps more players engaged. No high expectations from me though, since they willfully ignore relevant repeated (e.g. these 14pages) feedback about outlier specs. Possibly Trig and Roy can help put the current excel sheet balance logic in the trash can. Maybe this is the last time I bother to give to give them any feedback, and instead just play the most OP toxic spec, and then troll the forums with gaslighting together with you. Alternatively just not play.

    funny that u even went through my profile and confused emote on some of my posts about wb in the guard forums. These 14 pages are mostly about how wb is not a problem at all and that there are many other specs that are as or even more powerful than wb. It just seems that you personally have issues with it. I have seen it multiple times now that this thread was gone for several days and then you came in and resurrected it, just like this time.

    You should probably step back from the game for a while. You are extremely biased and seem to be very angry/mad atm.

    There is no thing such as skill in the current meta. It's pressing a button rotation you could automate and still your zerg survives standing in three mortar, treb and enemy aoe fields.

     

    if boon strips would work like that then pugs would not play the game anymore. Because pugs normally don't have a lot of healers around and are relying on their own boons most of the time. If it would be that easy to take those boons away for that long then you would either play in a zerg with a mandatory healer or you would not play anymore.

    If you think there is no skill involved in the current meta then your group either gets one pushed every time or you don't have a group to play with. That is a very ignorant thing to say and shows your lack of experience.

    And that pugs have a problem punching through dedicated guild zergs is the fault of the healers. Ofc healing would be less potent if protection wasn't a thing but everyone has access to boons and not everyone has always access to their personal healer. Healers in this game are busted because they heal themselves and everyone around them for ludicrous amounts and they are the last people standing when their zerg did take losses because they are so tanky.

    When you burst an enemy dps because he was not stacking properly at the commander and that left him open to an attack and that player is at 10%-20% hp or even goes down instantly it's not the boons that save him. If he is still alive he just runs to the rest of his zerg again and is at 100% hp again in less then a second. Or if he went down some necro will pull him inside the zerg and he will be rezzed in one or two seconds as well. And who is responsible for that? Healers.

    Those zergs can stand in aoes and be attacked by pugs all day long because of their sustain. And the primary source of that are the healers. Those few hundred hp you get from regen and some protection won't safe you there.

  12. you are all far too focused on boons. They are not the reason you and your pugs can't even deal damage to the enemy zerg.

    Healers are the reason.

    It's unbelievable how seemingly noone realises just how bonkers overpowered healers are in this game. Not only are they so tanky that you need several glass cannons to even kill them but they heal everyone around them for absurd amounts.

    Imagine a ventari healer or a tempest in any other game like LoL for example. They heal everyone around them including themselves like soraka can heal one other teammate but are as tanky as the best tank and even share extremely powerful buffs with their teammates (like projectile destruction, stability, auras, barriers etc.)

  13. what really has to be done is remove the initiative system from thief and give it proper cds. E.g. 12 sec cd on Head Shot because it is similiar to dagger 3 from warrior and something like 15 sec cd on Black Powder. The skills could then be buffed if they'd be too weak or maybe given some ammo. Give everyone initiative would be the worst possible scenario for this game. Everyone would just spam the same skills over and over again.

  14. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Perfect_Inscriptions allows you to keep the passive effects of the signets you have on cooldown. But it doesn't work correctly for https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Signet_of_Courage . The cooldown for the skill is 60 seconds, but the passive buff that gets applied after you used the active effect of "Signet of Courage" only has a duration of 48 seconds.

    My guess is that this is simply an oversight because "Perfect Inscriptions" used to reduce the cooldown of signet skills by 20% but that is no longer the case.

    This bug exists in pvp and in wvw (i haven't tested it in pve).

    Could you increase the duration of the passive effect that gets applied by the trait "Perfect Inscriptions" from 48 seconds to 60 seconds?

  15. stealth is inherently broken in this game and is in dire need of some rework. It's not skill to outplay an opponent with stealth, because the opponent never had a chance to react to anything the stealth user did. That's why every second roamer in wvw is a thief because stealth is just so op you can get away with practically anything. That's why thief in general is such a good 1v1 or even 1vx class because stealth as a mechanic in this game is just so forgiving and broken that it is hard not to join the thief legions (or mesmer or soulbeast for that matter) even if you rather play other classes.

    I operate within the time the game is giving me man. I press dodge button and god knows how much iFrame is that, I operate within that time to dodge the "initial burst".

    I think you are misunderstanding me. My problems with the Espec in order:

    1.  Mobility.
    2.  Risk and reward ratio.
    3.  Hard to read animations/effects/audio q's.
    4.  Survivability.
    5.  Ease of play. (ties in with number 2)

    As you can see "damage" is nowhere to be found. Because my problems are not with the "initial burst".

    The only thing toxic and broken around here seems to be you. I don't have the slightest problems when i fight wbs. Little sustain, little cc, many visible and readable animations, has to be melee to deal dmg and only one instant cast spell that is not even wb exclusive.

    And it's still funny that you argue about surviveability when talking about wbs. They explode, they are pure glass 90% of the time, their only surviveability is their mobility.

    And apparently it's not easy enough to play for you because as you said: " I dont play guardian but I am also terrible"

    On that fight I was talking about at some point we had 3 ac's hitting them, 5-6 other guys hitting from the wall and 3-4 trying to hit them from the ground and we were dying like ambiant creatures as they were taking nearly no damage.     a big problem here is also that supports are ridiculously overpowered when in a group.

    In games like League of Legends for example you have a healing support like Soraka and you have a long cd group heal for all your teammates, but the constant healing you can push out is just for one person only.

    In this game everyone in your group is constantly getting the supports healing and boons, that's why you don't deal damage to those boonballs when you cloud around them. The chip damage you and your allies deal just gets healed up. That's not even a problem with the boons, though perma regen that heals for 500 hp per tick and perma protection even amplifiying the effective hp even more are ofc part of the problem. Without any coordination in your team you might aswell not do any damage at all and the outcome would not be different.

    And as a bonus supports in this game are incredible durable and normally even a full glass cannon dps will take a minute to kill them if they were alone.
