  1. Give us a non RNG way to get our hands on those cool ascended skins that rarely drop from Metas. The Ascended weapons from Dragonfall (and Dragonstorm), Tequatl, Drakkar, the armor from Triple Trouble, and the ascended Soto Meta stuff. (and anything else I missed).  Have successful events drop some currency and make us pay like 300-600 for a weapon or armor piece. Its not like ascended gear is that hard to get that we should be worried about flooding things.

And hey, maybe we can use all the useless T3 essences for the Soto ones.

On a positive note, the Inner Nayos lanterns are VERY VERY easy.  None of them are locked behind events (I hope this will be their new model) and some are so close you can see one from the other.  Heck, at each WP there are 3 lanterns within 15 seconds of each other.  Even without a guide I was able to knock one completion off in less than 30  mins.

Honestly the only thing saving it for me.  Usually it feels like they play hide and seek with the lantern locations. Could be how well they stick out from the color pallet

  3. ETA: Its been noted that Inner Nayos still has 33% of a map to reveal. I stand by my point. Precedents says full map rewards awarded immediately for partly completed maps, and Gifts of X Map coming from Map completion.  A lack of consistency is something Anet gets rightly criticized for a lot and it would be nice if they didn't constantly add fuel to that particular fire.

Gift of Inner Nayos Aside (And for the record, it should drop from map completion and then also from the achievement rewards for Illuminating Inner Nayos because that is the precident YOU set). The rewards are still bugged. Behold:

    Skywatch Map Rewards

    • 8,001 Experience Points
    • 22 Silver
    • Gift of Skywatch Mastery
    • A Random Exotic Equipment
    • Guaranteed Transmutation Charge
    • A Chance at either a Transmutation Charge(75%) or a Black Lion Key (25%)

    Wizard's Tower Map Rewards

    • 8,802 Experience Points

    Amnytas Map Rewards

    • 8,001 Experience Points
    • 22 Silver
    • Gift of Amnytas Mastery
    • A Random Exotic Equipment
    • Guaranteed Transmutation Charge
    • A Chance at either a Transmutation Charge(75%) or a Black Lion Key (25%)

    Inner Nayos Map Rewards

    • 8,001 Experience Points

And I did just test the Inner Nayos drop. The Character hadn't set foot in the map before yesterday. So, to beat a dead horse: We better map completion rewards for a lounge than a map where everything is trying to kill you.

  4. Question 1: I hope so. Would really incentivize people to also craft leggie runes.

Question 2: Oh god please no. Or at least give it a toggle.

Question 3: I'm assuming it'll be like the other legendary trinkets so

    • Precursor from an Achievement (Spark of Sentience, Glimpse, Hateful Sworl)
    • Gift from an Achievement (Gift of Sentience, Gift of Prescience, Gift of Patience)
    • Gift from Open World Mats (Gift of Draconic Mastery, Gift of Arid Mastery, Gift of Compassion* )
    • Mystic Tribute

Nothing truly final/confirmed, but as far as I know and based on all I've read on it, the only "compensation", is that the crafting process for the legendary relics will be significantly easier if the legendary runes are in your possession.

Assuming I got the recipe at all right, my bet is that it will be giving mats for that darn Mystic Tribute.  Maybe an achievement "Master of Runes" which has 7 tiers and gives 11 mystic clovers for each Rune. Clovers are the worst part of any legendary so that would certainly count as "significant progress" in my eyes.

I know -but again, I don't get what you're even responding to with this? How is this relevant to anything in the previous posts?

OK I see what happened. I had just skimmed most of your and DarcShriek's conversation.  So I did two things: I accidently swapped your positions, and mistook the argument for being about having portals in general  instead of whether the inner Nayos portal would become usable before or after a character finishes the story. (For the record, I agree. It will probably unlock account wide after a single character completes the full story.)

Exactly -and I said "probably". Since when do they need to "completely introduce a map" to open a portal? Gyala didn't need its last update to have means of entering it. So yeah, I'm confused about the angle of your previous post: what you described isn't how it worked before either and -as mentioned- my "evidence" is exactly the same as yours. We're guessing.

    What past behavior?

Literally every other map can be accessed (without involving the Gem store) through something besides repeating stories/wping. Living World Maps let you buy a portal scroll. Previous expansions have Guild Halls.

    • LwS3 has Portal Scrolls
    • PoF has a lounge Pass (Elon Lily), and a Guild Hall
    • LWS4 has portal Scrolls
    • EOD has; a lounge pass (Thousand Seas) and a Guild Hall. Plus once you complete the story the first time you get a portal scroll, AND a asura gate to lion's arch.
    • SOTO currently makes you play the story once then you get Asura gate from it. And there is an optional collection for a portal scroll.

Even compared to other multi-release maps like Drizzlewood or Bjora Inner Nayos is weird, because you don't get instant access on every character for just doing the associated story.  But you also don't get a full map completion reward. Its just some karma vs the general map completion bundle of some currency/mats, an exotic armor piece, and an transmutation charge/black lion key.

I thought Gw2 already solved this problem with map scrolls. I wonder why they've stopped using them.

In this case its probably because they're waiting for the full Nayos map to be released. And it is likely that that "under construction" portal will be turned into a Nayos portal.  So the Wizard Tower portal scroll would cover it.

but lets just say that Anet is still re-earning my trust.

Teleport to Friend works. I did it just now,on an account that has never done the story.

Teleports to Friend are single use gemstore item and excluding birthdays need to be either purchased or gotten from engaging with the Lootboxes Black Lion Chests. Or a multiuse gemstore exclusive item

I don't think its unfair to ask for a way to get into content I already paid for without engaging with the game's other monetization features. Especially since every previous new pve zone has been accessible without interacting with the gemstore.

ETA: To all the people reacting confused, what are you confused about?

  9. I think its fine to require at least one character to have started the story to get into those areas of the map.

But there should be a way for those of us who love making alts (And thus buying gems anet) to get our alts there ahead of us doing the story on them - assuming we want to do the story on them.  A portal scroll, upgrade to the Wizard Tower Portal Scroll, or just sticking a gate in the Wizard Tower hub would all solve the issue.

  10. I recently noticed that when I hover my mouse over an material that has stats (mostly found under Gemstones and Jewels) such as Amber Pebbles the display doesn't show how many of that item I have in material storage.  For example the Amber Pebble's has no mention that I have 129/1000 in my material storage.  Meanwhile, If I hover over my Copper Ore the pop up shows I have 955/1000 in the bank.

They will give every attacker credit, because Anet wants people to take things.  What they do NOT want is people defending.   And, it shows.

Imagine the uproar if standing in the ring to cap didn't guarantee credit, because you didn't kill a guard or player.  That's the issue with defense credit, most aren't getting it no matter what they do.

I just wish they'd own it and remove defending associated achievements. Today is Daily Defender and it sends me into a micro rage because its become so specific to get.

It's now impossible. There's not enough events before people make it to and complete the third section. It was bugged and not giving credit, now you have to ask a map to sabotage itself to do an achievement? Didn't Anet learn this was bad...?

This unfortunately today. I was working on it from the minute we captured to the minute the depths opened and nope. Totally impossible unless the zerg listens to you

  13. It doesn't happen often, but it happened again today.

I'll be in spot A on a map when I go to character swap and then when I load back into that character I will occasionally be in spot B. Usually it puts me at one specific spot on each map. For racial capitals it is usually the entrance from that race's starting zone.

Today, it happened in Echovald Wilds. I logged out while at the Junkyard Waypoint. Upon loging back in a few minutes later I was at the House zu Heltzer  Point of Interest

Yesterday? Day before? Recently we had daily objective defender and I still had the weekly keep defender, keep keeper maybe? Anyways, like you I took out a couple of the enemy standing in the back while others were cata'ing annnnd nope, no defender. Took out another one while he was running to lord's room annnnd nope, notta again. Long story short, I didn't get credit until I killed someone that had attacked the lord . So I killed 5 or 6 and had 3 contested timers go by before I got credit. So something else was changed, not just repairing walls. Maybe they re-wrote/removed a line/code making it only give credit for defeating a player that actually attacked lord, not guards and not just the objective being sieged. Sorta along the lines of cutting off a finger because the nail keeps growing. It'll stop the nail from ever growing again but the consequences........ you can never pick your nose again 😉

My god this happened to day I'm at 5/8 on the stupid "Defend Towers" weekly. There were at least 4 ticks where I killed a player inside my tower while defending. Or standing in my tower shooting out. Or standing right outside.

    And got 0 credit
